Has the SP been a little perkier recently, or is it just me imagining things?
It’s on directors talk.

Interview, while we endure a little inevitable profit taking before having a go at £3 imo.

I also think, going off the results and future potential as a company, there may well be more money from institutional investors.
I'm not selling at this stage either. Virolens or not this is a good company to be invested in right now.
Solid set of results, and profit, which includes costs regarding Torotel integration and other new factories, good order book, and virolens yet to come. There are still billions not vaccinated yet, it will take years, so only way to guarantee no transmission is through testing. Any news on other regions giving license for these machines will push up share price, 6 more months could be worth the wait.
The results have been well received and, at the risk of seeming perverse, I am wondering how much effect a delayed or no rollout of Virolens would have for the share price. My interpretation is that testing confirms or denies existance of morbidity and vaccination gives protection from mortality consequential from infection. Vaccination does not seem to prevent transmission. Testing remains essential and necessary.
Talk is thus for a booster program to happen this winter in the UK suggesting to me that in the same way that science has determined that lifetime immunity from tetanus is achieved with 3 jabs, over the long term similar conclusion may be reached. And although the rollout of testing machines would not be harmful to the share price of TTG, priority needs to be to provide and support full vaccination to all countries not simply the developed nations.
7% (ish) uplift is very satisfactory, especially based on news. Had it been in isolation, I would be heading for the door!
new 5 year high in SP now!
That should generate a bit of interest on back of results. I am often nervous on results day. I was here at least as so many unknowns. They did well. I guess a bit of a relief rally as well in the mix today!
Virolens on top of this soon, well that will be interesting!
Trek
Yes, very good results.
An encouraging reference to Virolens but no mention of costs incurred, or an initial order.
" The Virolens COVID-19 screening device achieved its first important regulatory milestone in H1, gaining registration with the MHRA in Great Britain. We have now established a product with commercial potential and remain encouraged that active dialogue is continuing with a number of regulators and that commercial potential exists with a range of customers subject to further approvals."
Well looking at these results I think our investment here will do very well. A fantastic relatively low risk growth story. I was concerned about the supply side constraints and inflationary pressures but the BoD have been proactive by extending lead times.
Getting back to levels pre-covid is an outstanding result!
I have only scan read for now will read the whole later. I only saw one reference to Virolens where they took the Virolens numbers out to show organic growth more representatively.

A large investment I made on 21 July seems to be paying off. So far.
Interesting to note that the SP advanced shortly after the decision to allow fully vaccinated holidaymakers not to quarantine from Europe or US.
With a new Health Minister I wonder if there will be a review of policy concerning Covid tests?
Although I am sure that TTG does have a PR department, they are not really being as vociferous as they could. About 3 weeks ago, the company had a recruitment drive to hire 100 staff.

Article mentions Virolens as an afterthought so I guess that behind the scenes efforts are being made for non-intrusive testing with rapid results where mass screening is efficient - airports, sports centres, concerts etc. Just a matter of being patient I think. Heartening to see the SP continue to rise.
TrekMadone, TTG has many revenue streams. Virolens, if it is rolled out in volume will be very attractive. The SP is advancing as a result of its day to day business.
Thinking aloud, (and this is both opinion and conjecture) so forgive the typos and likely meandering "contribution", there are a few elephants in the room that might be a little distracting. The first is that for the time being the tests (in common use) that are relied on seem to be lateral flow tests, polymerase chain reaction and serology. The second elephant is that the vaccine rollout has extended to more than 60% of the adult population in the UK. The third elephant is that the tipping point for herd immunity is tantalisingly close.
With these in mind, It is not really surprising that the political desire is to begin to remove the impositions to liberty. However, vaccination does not prevent morbidity (rate of disease) but has a marked effect on mortality (death from disease).
I deeply hope that behind the scenes there is a WHO initiative represented at Government level to have a consistent and rapid screening process for international standards for medical approval to travel. So while it might be "offensive" for intrusive tests required prior to departure, it seems very sensible to me for a condition of travel is to provide full vaccination at the point of embarkation and subject to a low invasive test (Virolens for instance) at the point of entry. Candidates can be screened on arrival and marshalled to approved quarantine so that a more invasive test can confirm the result of screening.
This would give confidence to the traveller and although this does seem to smack of martial law, it is a whole lot better than the confused situation for the 4 nations of the UK so a nightmare for countries beyond our borders.
Although the UK has reached the point that seems to be pioneering lowering of guard, the populace of the UK and all those countries that are not on the "green list" are not sufficiently trusted to allow free movement. It will change. As an aside, my grandfather who was a Doctor was involved in setting up the Quarantine Board when he was seconded to the League of Nations. His speciality was tropical disease and much of his work was undertaken in Egypt and Alexandria.
Any news before the interims in August will be welcome. I like others have held patiently.
Would be nice to know what is going on with Virolens.
I must say if it wasn’t for the SP moving ahead under its own steam I would have given up but TTG has turned out to be a good recovery play.
Following the recruitment they must have kept supply lines open through Brexit, covid and Suez!

“On Monday, the Guardian revealed that a number of emails were copied into Bethell’s private email account. His address was copied into at least four official exchanges relating to a businessman who was attempting to get government contracts during the pandemic.
In April 2020, the businessman had approached his MP, Oliver Dowden, as he believed his firm’s testing kits were cheaper than those being bought by the government.”

The new health secretary has said he wants a return to normal ASAP. Clearly the best available testing methods would play a vital role towards meeting that objective.
Han**** has done the right thing at last. Now let's see what the new incumbent gets up to.
On both sides of the bed linen?
No idea - seems he has a finger in the cookie jar according to news emerging today
I wonder if the removal of the current health secretary would change the assessment of testing methods, i.e. whether their selection would be more merit-based as opposed to the financial rewards the selection offers?
