Do we have any idea when the company might release any positive news or what exactly they are doing behind the scences ? I guess all the drilling has stopped- I remember Cornerstone was drilling on its Bramderos property is that now halted?
Hey DaKat, for me, news events I'm looking out for over the next few weeks are:
1 - Signed free trade agreement between Ecuador and China. ( provisionally agreed late Feb, just with the lawyers and translators etc..)
2 - SOLG announce exploitation and investment protection agreements Signed with Ecuadorian authorities. ( these are well underway as per Scott's interview a few weeks ago )
After that, we're on the grid, ready for lights out.
Last chunk going in mine and the wife's ISAs over the next few days, then trading reserve at the ready for when the first bid lands as the first bid won't be the only bid. All IMHO.
Have a great long weekend all. C
Morning HFM
Pretty much agree with all of that.
Pretty sure some fairly significant announcements can be far off now .
ATB
HFM,yes totally agree with what your saying there ,not long now
And so says the village idiot (again).
Christ cookiescrew can’t you post anything constructive?
Nothings going to happen soon cos no one is interested.
Z
Hmmm no one is interested yet in the last 6 months Osisko and Jiangxi both took positions in our company.
Add to that 2 of the world's biggest miners in bhp and Ncm and the norweigan gov fund even having a slice.
Really sounds like no one is interested Zzzzzzoros.
Maybe they are just taking a punt eh.
Smick, the naysayers conveniently ignore these facts - it doesn't chime with their narrative.
Zoros...nope
How excited should we be getting about Jiangxi taking a cheap entry?
Osisko, like Franco before them, are in quite a nice position with favourable royalty deals. They stand to gain in any eventuality.
Newcrest meanwhile, haven't been happy for some time and are amidst significant upheaval of their own. BHP have also expressed concerns but all the while have done what they do - not a lot.
So, can Bob get Jiangxi to start the process and tempt someone who is willing to compete with them? That is what we are relying on.
Exactly Bozi
But what we have is worth a fortune….
Bozi, more excited than if they hadn't.
I know you like to be a but more pessimistic about things but for me it was a smart move, but time will tell.
But in answer to Z's post its just untrue that there is no interest.
It is DBW, and that's what keeps many of us here I suspect.
But we have to ask ourselves what more SOLG can do to derisk Cascabel and Ecuador. I'm not sure they can do much. Any interested corporation can take SOLGs modelled deposit and tweak it to suit their own strategy.
In terms of value adding for 2023 whilst we await the outcome of the strategic review, surely the best route is to drill Helipuerto. If a significant discovery were to be made there we could merge with Solaris and create an Ecuadorian major miner of our own. That would surely bring all the boys to the yard...
Yep right on their doorstep with way less red tape as everything already in full swing there .
As you know I’ve always thought a sale is the inevitable conclusion here , but I’m all for adding value in the meantime especially as we have no idea what exactly would or wouldn’t be sold( I suspect the lot but would love the opportunity to remain invested in some of our unexplored licences).
The silence here is ( as always) deafening but I suspect a clear direction will be laid out for us before too long.
As for the strategic review I’m at a loss as to why this would take so long as they must have already agreed a common path forward in order to accommodate the merger, hence my previous comments with regards to it being somewhat of a smokescreen.
I guess we’ll all find out one day
Good morning all.
Not sure what some make of the strategic review.
First it's definitely happening.
Those like Redknight, DBW and that repulsive Slug creature are in denial saying it won't happen.
So next the strategic review .
Solgold have already laid out what is in it.
It's how we advance Cascabel, and coupled with that we now have a final PFS.
So what does that mean.
Well this is about the finer points of mine design.
It is to create the most environmentally friendly mining construction in the world.
Many on here will not believe me, but as the news slowly leaks out
Remember you heard it here first.
I have been looking at all the announcements from government, Solgold and our partner's and how this pans out.
Well I have no idea.
But this is what the strategic review is about.
We all know what was contained in the SR announcement and let's hope it does lead to the advancement of Cascabel, thereby adding value. Of course, the various stated aims of the SR are all stepping stones and are not of themselves a definitive statement that the company intends to take this to production. Indeed, as far as I can see no such statement was made.
Three of the four bullet points are relatively specific, however, the fourth point - " any other transaction or series of related transactions" demonstrates just how wide-ranging the SR is, and is the catch-all which says we are open to all possibilities.
I recognise a jv is a possibility, although god knows how this would provide a short term shareholder return, but it's also important to recognise that the fourth bullet point encompasses the possibility of a sale of Cascabel and given what our CEO and advisors have said, the balance of probability lies with an exit.
JV for Cascabel won't happen...and we won't take it to production...
So what remains:
1. A take over
2. Nothing and some sort of governmental decision to bring some discipline.
Number 1
Q " Remember you heard it here first."
From the company of course !
