There is still a lack of positive news and IMO it is still being held. They have given a teaser of RIO- but not assays of bottom of hole 1. Again a teaser for hole 2. The RNS about the tie up with government was already in the public domain.
They are lining up to release very soon pre AGM IMO.
Why have they not released any on Sharug, Porvenir? Sharug cannot be a duster due to fact they have 6 rigs. Solg would not put this number of rigs on if hole 1,2 showed nothing- too much else going on on other sites to tie up these rigs.
I believe they are waiting for Daryl to start to us sue this news. The momentum will start - it is just a case of when and what the catalyst will be. Keep the faith folks - the signs are there.
Morning Mister
The last I could find on Sharug was “ Drilling commenced in August 2021 as part of an initial six-hole programme. Five holes have been drilled for a total of 2,414m with drill results pending”
Where does it say 6 rigs there ? Could be significant
Thanks DBW
And that’s on the latest (November) presentation which I hadn’t read before
DBW - apologies you are correct.
Colonel.... great post. I have thought, for a very long time now, that there is something really weird going on here. I confess to having no proof, or concrete evidence of this, but as a long term holder, and avid researcher of my investments, Solgold stands alone as the one I’m not sure I really understand. The BoD cannot, seriously, be as bad as recent (last few years) actions (or lack thereof) portray them. Ironically, such opaqueness would normally make me exit at the earliest and least loss making opportunity. However, Solgold has gotten under my skin a wee bit to the extent whereby I’m now resigned to seeing how this all plays out. My average was around 37p (yes, I know, I got caught on a spike) but being in a share so long does allow you an opportunity or two to trade, which I have done, and am now in the much happier position of averaging 22.4p. This is a price I’m quite happy with, and am prepared to allow this to play out. Here’s the slightly controversial part. I suspect in the absence of a bid, or JV news, we shall see another dilution in 2022, and the way things look, this is likely to be at or around today’s SP. I think I might take a further punt at these levels should that prove to be the case. Originally this was to fund my retirement(in part). I’m now fortunate enough to be retired 4 years, without the need for a return on this investment. So it’s jam if it comes in... which I still believe it will. Just not sure when.
TOS you have a clear agenda and you are full of shyte
bbg, you really are becoming the board bore. chill out mate, chill out.
i have travelled through and stayed over in byron bay many times. a large proportion of the residents
are nere do wells and misfits who quite happily live on the edge and live and let live, and happily let the world pass them by.
you mate show none of these traits, i very much doubt youve ever been to your adopted name. i suggest, if as we all hope solg comes good, you spend a bit of the profit on visiting Byron bay and see for yourself. chill out mate, the only thing suffering from your constant abuse and ranting, is your mental health,
I’m not sure why you pushed back about me voting against BRIAN MOLLER the other day. FYI we don’t need him with having James Clare on the board with his corporate law experience. Next you’ll tell me I don’t own any shares and haven't been in Solgold longer then you. I got my first Solgold shares from being in d'aguilar gold. And I picked up more at 3.5p.
Vote against MOLLER, however I’m for TWIGGER. Look at DGR’s, ANW, NPM past performance. Moller is past it and irrelevant. Move forward BBG.
I still think , that when solg delay drilling results it's because they are not great. I'm not convinced it's part of a bigger strategy. I hope I'm wrong, but a leopard never changes its spots. I know they have a new interim CEO but the culture remains the same instinctively.
Throughout their history, great and good holes have been shouted from the rooftops. Poor results end up on page 19 etc etc 3 months later in a presentation.
Agreed Monte but throughout history we released drilling results every couple of weeks , so either we’ve stopped drilling or we’ve changed our spots ….. just a thought
“ I know they have a new interim CEO but the culture remains the same instinctively”
No , we have a new CEO.
I realise we may not have a ton of good news stockpiled but if you are expecting to have to defend it would make perfect sense. For better or worse we should know plenty more in the next week or two leading up to the AGM.
In the meantime Rio looking very good initially, otherwise why would they have RNS’d (shouted from the rooftops) one hole based on your theory?????
I know we have a new CEO, but that is irrelevant to what's happened this year because the interim was running the show until this point.
Regards the Rio RNS, perhaps that was the only good bit. Based on my theory.
dbw, thank goodness for your eternal optimism, certainly keeps my spirits up. if isaw rain running down the window you could convince me the sun was shining. on another subject, can anyone tell me what happened to that other area with supposed exceptional reserves, aquiana or something like that. is it still on the horizon or are we waiting for a translator to translate the figures
Aguinaga was touted for a year before drilling as the next biggy, the first few holes were very disappointing and it was put on the back burner.
They still drill it ,but it has never lived up to the hype.
thanks monte, i can remember the hype on here, another dissapointment mate. oh well onward and upward.
stay safe
“ Aguinaga was touted for a year before drilling as the next biggy, the first few holes were very disappointing and it was put on the back burner.”
Just out of interest did they RNS the first 1000 metres drilled there ? Probably not if it wasn’t worth a mention ….. many people here are very predictable….. talk this down til it goes up …. Then miraculously claim they’re so relieved to have bought a few at the bottom.
I am optimistic, otherwise I wouldn’t be invested ,surely that much is obvious?
I’m not claiming the share price is good It isn’t. but we’ve been here many times before .
So simple question Monte . You claim Solgold goes quiet if drilling produces poor results. You claim a leopard never changes its spots. Here we are with them RNSing the first assays for the first half of one hole …… what is your conclusion?
Morning, DBW & Colonel, I enjoy your posts but I have racked my brain trying to think of a compelling reason to withhold good news. I can’t think of one. If results are stacked up why have they held them back? We got it smartish on Rio because it was good, why not the rest?
We’ll for one thing I don’t think they’d want to welcome the CEO with a tanking share price and nothing on the horizon….. he will have taken a good look and sought assurances before taking the post ,
Secondly if and when we ever need to defend our position against the backdrop of a low share price we will surely need something in the background to help?
Finally they’ll need something prior to the AGM if they care about keeping the PI’s onside.
Woody it’s just my take …… also the one that nags at me ( apart from the current Mrs DBW) is Irwin switching sides knowing he want to monetise for a decent price ASAP….. he can clearly see BHP is not the way to achieve this.
More on BNAmericas if anyone can access
DBW, what's on BNAmericas?
DBW it could be that CGP is going to get a 15% share in the Alpala mine, and the reason for contentment in the CGP camp, is that we are going to allow CGP to become part of the funding and so we can raise money against 100% of Alpala as opposed to 85%.
Something about $4bn to be invested in mining over next 5 years
Thanks happy Harry, you too. Stay happy.
Dreamboat; the hallmark of a good invester is to weight up both sides of the coin.
I think you are misunderstanding me.
If you want to think Aringaga was a great success, that's up to you, I would imagine most people would not. That's not about having an agenda that's about the results from the drill bit. I'm not saying they don't report results; I'm saying the style in which they do it depends on the result itself.
We hear on here all the time that Tier 1's are very rare( they are)
We also hear from the same people that with Rio; Agi, Shrag, polv etc etc We will be sitting on 3, 4 tier 1's
By definition you can't have it both ways. Because Alpala is so good and they are so rare. The chances are the others won't be that good. If they are great, but let's keep it real.
“ If you want to think Aringaga was a great success, that's up to you, I would imagine most people would not”
Where did I say that ?
I said if your conclusion ( probably correct) is that aquinaga wasn’t reported is because it’s a duster .
Then why ( if leopards don’t change their spots) did they RNS Rio halfway down the first hole ?
It’s fairly simple
Q that’s the point …. It could be anything and that may be a possibility…… it’s all about opinions and guesswork….. but the idea of not being optimistic about a share one’s invested in seems ridiculous to me ( you’ll have to read back a bit to this morning)
