The real and only new news today ....
It's time to debate on why SNG want to show some details of this trial at roughly the same time as the hospital results ....
maybe some of the copd patients were covid 19 patients also
Realistically, on the chance both results are entirely different, they can justify and go into detail as to why. Wouldn't promote the company releasing singular news articles with 2 opposite outcomes.
Just my opinion.
I kinda of agree.
We have learnt allot more around the home trials as well. Patient demographics, 40 mile radius....
The COPD news for me is the most exciting and it will allow the major multinational drug companies a early look at the results prior to the partnership discussions ( chairman confirmed multinationals were interested in Sept19 RNS)
Sharestring,
While your opinion is very plausible it's still just one of many options to explain this change of plan ..
Can you see any other reason for this change of plan except this very POSITIVE option ?
Sorry to ask a ´ genuine long term investor ' a question like this but it's why we vary in opinions nearly always.... why do you always only mention the most positive possible reason, and never mention any other possible reason ?
Objectivity, objectivity ....
They were nearly their with the numbers on the COPD trial in any case so given the risk of taking patients into hospital with underlying conditions in these COVID times to finish off the 120 compliment the decision is perfectly sensible imo. These numbers on the COPD trial can lend weight to the tolerability of the drug too. Don't think anyone would argue with that really.
well they had to stop the copd early. They said they had enough information for results maybe the results were not conclusive so they are hoping the good covid 19 results out weigh any incoclusive results from the copd trial.
I'm having fun being negative ( Balanced :-)) but if it does go that way at least it won't be a shock
Sorry,
But there is no evidence that the trial has been stopped, otherwise they would have said that ....
The trial is continuing but we probably would'nt be able to fill the last 11 patients until next winter ...so ...
your right it only says it has been paused. and they have recruited 109 out of the 120. So do you think that means all 109 have recived a dose or placebo. will they get any permissions for treatment of copd if they have not finnished the trial and will we be locked down again next winter? so we might not be able to compleat then. They could always do another video trial.
If this one is accepted
I don’t think they intend to finish it, they have asked for unblinding with the hope it compliments Covid19 trials and they push it all through together. I can’t see why you would unblind to then recruit 11 more people and then assess the data again? They must have put forward a good case to get approval. Both RNS are really positive only draw back is July results not June, give us the TR1 that tells us under 3%! Not logical response today.
I cant think of why next winter greenfish. There are plenty of COPD patients kicking around right now with a virus and as the company stated in a previous RNS they are going to look into using these individuals to fill the remaining 11 slots.
Feeling that also. I'm hoping the route of administration direct to the lungs aerosol should be critical as opposed to those nasal drops which perhaps dont get there. Thanks for that link. I noted in the video he reiterated that the patients were quite unwell in the hospital setting. Secondly the placing helped them to fund the hospital trial. I expect there will be a good result from the home trial.
I understand your argument Nolupus, and you could be right. But the unblinding is a very big deal because we are going to get data from the unblinding, the curtain is coming down. I would be surprised if there is no efficacy in the COPD trial. Does anyone know how the double blind works? In that does someone know how it is going or is it all unravelled at the end? Because if someone does know then that would be a big signal to me, otherwise wtf are we doing waiting everyone’s time.
and another thing. I believe this is only going to benefit us because if the results of the hospital trials are not blockbuster, as some suspect may be the case, they will keep the data to themselves and not release to the market until after the home trials. If they are blockbuster results we will know immediatly. Win win imo.
Given Covid 19 shuts down your Interferon response, I think it’s a given you would be best to take it early.
Oilornothing ,
Sometimes it's better to say nothing than prove to everyone just how ´ intelligent you really are :-)
Nolupus what’s your thinking on the COPD announcement? Given the discussion?
Guessing if they were blockbuster then they wouldn't be struggling for the last 2 patients with 4000 cases confirmed today. I wish I wasnt even considering this. Down the line it's going to be useful. But seemingly his video to me inferred that the hospital patients weren't in the best shape.
Doesn't need to be blockbuster though. Any efficacy would be a positive from the hospital trials. The real benefit hopefully will come from the home trials. Thats where the intervention is most needed as it will hopefully stop virus progression to hospitilisation and ventilation.
The II know no more than us but the ability to sell and buy their holdings is not transparent, the SP is disjointed IMO. This will rerate, should be 70/80p not 50p IMO. Too many shares on offer, being well managed for something.
Notnow - you can look on the positive side to every bit of news. There must come a time though when you have to look at your investment and decide if you made the right decision. We are all here to make money. And just incase you ve not noticed. The sp isn’t going anywhere but down.

Thanks notnow, so we have software in the loop, makes sense.
If it drops 30p tomo it doesn,t matter...none of the share price matters up or down...Its just a case of HOLD until the end...If it turns out to be a winner, the share price will then reflect that,What happens between now and then is irrelevant IMO
I don’t think they know anymore than us on the trials they can’t it’s not possible. What I do think is there is instruction to offload at given price points by the II which is what has created this coiled spring on the chart. I believe this unloading is what is holding the SP back, I have seen it before and given where the company is heading and the positive news flow 50p does not feel right. There is also a left field theory that there is a buyer operating in the trading range as what has been unloaded is a lot for PI to absorb. What I do think is cone August this will all be irrelevent. Patience required.
