I know its hard to be positive when the SP remains in the doldrums but my position (FWIW) is that we can't criticise the BoD for doing what they said they would back at the AGM. At the time they said there would be no running commentary on the patents as they had no control over the process. They did acknowledge the need for better communications and we've had twitter for better or worse. When I've emailed the Chairman I've had replies within hours. Sierra are due to report shortly and it would be silly of the board to issue a half year update before the report is released. They've taken cuts in salaries and as IamH says the cash doesn't run out imminently. At the AGM the Chairman said they are looking at funding options other than a dilution - they know the well is running dry. Speaking to John Reader at the AGM it was obvious that they are as frustrated at the timescales as we are. We're still within the time window that Tim M cited for 'significant' value. The trials of 737 are still to be concluded.... I could go on.... The fact that we are down almost 10% as I type is disappointing but you either believe in the science or you don't.
I with you all the way RMM, there is no real bad news just the calm before hopefully the positive chaos. All a waiting game.
Besides no company on AIM is 100% a tight ship. If there was impeding bad news we would be well south of this price.
You saying that Sar leak information as you have inferred this from your statement? On what are you inferring that Sareum are not based 100% watertight? The price drops on no activity and no news not helped by very negative comments. I note no mention of a price forecast of Sareum to be 1.9 pence in next 12 months by the financial times. Out of the two I would trust these people any day to a Wallstreet named company with no credibility grown in Australia. Not having a dig at you Afham as most of your comments and posts are good
Again, I'm not really being negative. If posters genuinely believe there is going to be another raise and some bad news. Why don't they sell? I'd hazard a guess that the board will already know if they need to raise or not. Only they know what discussions are currently ongoing and when something if anything could happen. If they do need to raise. They'll probably wait on Sierra's report. If we get a bit of a lift on the back of it. They'll hit us with a placing. I think we will need to raise but I haven't got the balls to sell because we could easily see 3 x today's SP if the report is good and it states how SRA737 will be funded. I'm holding on tight, same as most others here. Lets face it. We havn't got long to wait. GLA
Sad, I am generalising- where there is money to be made someone always knows something. I can't for one minute believe that with so many shares in issue albeit mostly non-institutional that no one would know more that we do. What about all the folk who took part in the fundraising, you can't tell me they wouldn't tell friends and family etc. If we were going down the pan there would have been large selling and the price would be well south of this.
We're not going down the pan. It might get worse before it gets better though. if there was a placing. I'd take part in it this time or at least buy when the news hits. Few pieces of the jigsaw to put in place before cashing out and we only need one of them for it all to kick off. GLA
Agree with all. Nicely summarised rmm The bod are responsive. The big money has always been tyk2. And by big its big big. Progress slower than we like due to funding. Balanced by we are the only man standing in chk1 as everyone else has failed (due to rushing it). And none of us i think are trading but waiting for the big payout. I suspect srra will have to blink in the next 3 months or gilead reveal their hand. Gla
Lets be completely honest , anyone who invests in a potential blockbuster non profit making pharma share is gambling big time , not because there is anything wrong with the science ( which keeps us invested ) but quite simply as history has correctly informed us that the chances of getting through the rigorous clinical trials to being in a position to close a multi million dollar deal is so low that it almost an impossibility .
It costs millions to develop a compound to a position of certainty where a potential suitor will feel encouraged to spend a huge amount that will guarantee a suitable return on their investment.
The only way that SAR and similar companies can finance the advancement of their compounds through to a stage where they can realise the value of its assets is by achieving appropriate funding.
Not helped at all by Sierra doing everything they can to defer milestone payments on CHK1.
Of course the uncertainty over possible fund raising is affecting the SP here .
I believe that we are fortunate enough to be in a position where we have every chance to get over the line before any future funding constraints kick in and make our chances of making a decent return on our investment an impossibility.
The data from the trials that prove how effective CHK1 is when used in a combo give us all the credibility we need without even considering the credentials of TYK2 an even bigger potential blockbuster.
Will continue to hold here until the fat lady sings one way or another . What will be will be , but for certain the the answer is in the tea leaves within the cup of fortune that will be turned imo for the final time within the next few months.
Time us LTHs got put out of our misery one way or another.
Luton - I entirely agree with your sentiment. The conversation I had after the AGM with both Stephen Parker and John Reader was along the lines that the value needs to be realised sooner rather than later simply because the risks of delaying for a bigger deal are too great. As you rightly point out the odds on success diminish significantly as the trials reach points where the rigours and hurdles become almost insurmountable and require huge amounts to conclude. Leave that to those with very, very deep pockets. As SAR state on their website, they are a 'small molecule drug discovery' company. Find it, licence it, move on. GLA
