Walk shares down for many reasons / lack of volume means this is artificially being dropped for a reason - slight dilution and some of Darwin being sold doesn't warrant a drop - I actually see this as very positive, somebody is looking at increasing win margins!! IMHO I also ask myself why? Whenever I see a negative comment from a supposed holder all I hear is 'I'm trying to lower my average!!' Or shorting!
Sorry, I missed off the IMO that allows people to post their opinions without fear of reprisal. I'm not interested in stats. I feel that in the absence of any negative information (I haven't been able to find any evidence of bribery), I cannot see how it can be considered legal to steal an asset. I'm breaking it down to basics because it's easy to get lost in the detail of former cases which have similar details but none have the exact details that we experienced. In which case, I am of the belief that we will receive the lower end of the $1.2bn max claim and the $400m looks fair to me.
The below 2 posts bring reality into it in a big way. Suggested low pay outs that would get swallowed up in expenses
...and the $185Mill Chinese CITIC potential investment that fell through.
So, TurkeyBurger - when you say "everything here points to a fair return"..What do you base that on? Please elaborate. When you look at what you expect here, and how you feel this is going, those who claim that Oxus will get massively rewarded are not using Statistics, past cases, or indicators to form a rounded judgment - they are using willpower and hope, that "justice will prevail".. People are saying statistics mean nothing - well, do they? Oxus will soon be part of those Historical statistics, in which we'll be one of the 1 out of 5 , or one of the 4 out of 5. As uncomfortable as it seems for some people to look at things objectively and easy to denounce facts or hypotheses they don't like, those statistics (when compiled) also showed that Tim Hart has a 100% record in getting his way on valuation. You may argue that at some point, White &Case, Brigitte Stern, Tim Hart, etc etc will get their comeuppance and lose a case big time, but you would be undoubtedly be playing the casino against the odds. If you are playing this as a pure gamble, looking at the odds, you might notice that I didn't even weigh yesterday's post with Tim Hart's negative connotations..I actually spun it to the positive! Being accurate you would see that if a case has a 4 in 5 chance of getting form Zero to 20% (and a 1 in 5 chance Oxus gets higher), You'd also have to face the uncomfortable truth that those Stats do NOT take into account that Tim Hart has won ALL his cases, among the general stats. The 4 out of 5 chance of losing outright or getting up to $240, includes other valuers. If you weighted this fairly with ONLY Tim Hart's input, you would see that this dramatically falls to the lower end of this valuation scale. Very low ball stuff - and he is the man on our case. Yesterday's lenghty post (which some see as negative)was actually a positive spin!! I am only talking statistically here, and sure, we may win big, but taking into account all those other factors, my bet is still on a small win with a small to fair chance of a loss. Like everyone on here, we all have to make our own decisions. Onion, if you feel over-exposed, get some out, Simple as. I've reduced my holding again recently. I was also over-exposed. I've got to admit I do not like this "Very Near Future" statement one little bit., and Mr Shead, if you're watching, and whatever reason you made that statement. IT WAS WRONG - and you know it. Again - We are not playing on a level field here. We are NOT all in this together. Calunius only need a very small win - a very small win - to get their investment back, and some on top. We need a much bigger win, with all the deductions even to get to 6p. All those leaving masses of cash i here, good luck and I'll certainly have the P*ss thrown at me at the winners party if Oxus grab a huge win. But that would go against not only the odds, but the $80 mill Newmont payout and the $18
This is being walked down on such low volume it's almost laughable. Fantastic opportunity to top up or enter IMO.
Having read and re-read everything I can possibly find on OXS, I can't see how we won't get around the 400m mark. I take what people are saying about previous awards and expectations but everything here points to a fair return.
The transparent de ramping here, obviously those trying up get in low ... Or lower average - think that chance will pass today/ nothing fundamentally has changed and this has potential to 5-15x in my view!! Bounce will be quick and catch a few out!!
Now now, dont get yerself into a pickle! :-p
Whats your confidence on CHL, been keeping an eye on it as well hoping the SP would fall a bit more so one could try and get 50k to 100k shares..........Hope it wont run away before OXS deliverys, it looks another case of a dodgy country
Exposing yourself then ....while you're at it stop misquoting statistics - most cases get thrown out within the first 18 months -not 5 years down the line...read Calunius and their success thresholds and imagine how many legal man hours they're putting in to a case - with all due respect think they're much smarter and you or I !!
after yesterdays poster. I'm not de-ramping as I hold about 200,000 of these or so. However I must be honest. Someone started posting yesterday stating 4 in 5 cases fail and the successful ones only achieve around 20% of what they claim. After hearing these statistics I think I may have over exposed myself here
OXS come on now.. its been very looooooooong.. i want to get out of here now and get into CHL..
even

I commented before on ADVFN that Carolyn Lamm (Uzbek lead counsel) was in Paris yesterday for an event. Looking through the Derains & Gharavi website I can also see that one of our lawyers Eloïse Obadia was involved in the very same session.
