Happy with the times but as a born and bred Yorkshireman my favourite paper was the Metro... Got to look after the pennies.
Both The Guardian (anti capitalism) and The Sun (too right) or similar comics (inc Huffington Post blogs) are not credible sources of information.... I'd rather stick to the BMJ, EMJ or clinical journals for credible reading.... especially in pharma or pharma tech
Bloodshot, What about "The Times"? The epitome of everything British!!
Theres a few come out of the woodwork every time boris and the poor old tories are given a hard time though ive noticed wilson. They dont need or deserve to be defended imo. As government of the day (left or right) your there to be shot down if your not performing your duties I havent been back for a few years but NOTW gone?
Well it has been a few years since I was there.
What about the daily sport..dont tell me thats gone too :/
Wilson -
I don't recall politics being discussed in the News of the World, - just who was found in bed with who!
It was known as NewsoftheScrews - and it wasn't full of prison officers.
As there are more and more variants, testing needs to include their accurate detection, thus why NCYT is at the forefront of testing. Testing simply "positive" only does not say if one is infected by any variant. Thus testing should now include the type of variant. No lft test has this possibility.
Bloodshot-: The news of the world lol finished ten years ago which column for the Today(humour banter not to be mistaken with having a go:)))
Kitzie not sure why you and some others are so quick to attack the Guardian. Isnt it a good thing that there are some papers with a centre or left leaning slant, so as to give a balance?
For the centre/left theres..
Daily mirror
Guardian
Observer
Independent
For the centre/right theres..
Express
Mail
Sun
Star
News of The World
Or for a more intellectual read, the Telegraph.
Plenty of choice
Each to their own.
@ Troublesome,
Plenty I'm sure....
As usual, troublesome, the silent but electorally decisive majority.
Oh everyone loves Boris you trickster Troublesome hahaha
@Kitzie
And which media has an agenda for them ?
@uk_gabba,
Agree but everyone needs to be fully involved so a consensus can be reached and the lead must come from the very top.
The breakdown of trust has been so damaging regards openness and transparency that suspicion and in some cases, paranoia, reigns. Divide and rule, us and them approaches will never succeed where this virus is concerned and only feed it .
I fear that it will not be the only thing that becomes endemic.
Remember The Guardian has an agenda against the conservatives
Troublesome I'm hoping the unions can play a big part in that to ensure its members are protected in the workplace.
I know the company I work for are looking into testing in the workplace for all employees attending work. I'm hoping they take a similar lft PCR blended approach as they are in care homes.
Really unsure how smaller companies fit into that hopefully support from governments to ensure all can be accurately tested regardless of the size of the company. Its a potential new market for tests
Maybe businesses etc.... even schools should also have to obtain a certificate indicating a safe environment from an 'independent' Covid Health & Safety Inspectorate prior to re-opening. Although ATM there appear to be strict rules and regulations, I'm not sure how often checks (random or otherwise) are carried out and any action taken is usually far too late once the horse (or virus) has bolted.
Its just another reason for being pro-active rather than reactive.
One of the main lessons I thought would have been learnt by now.
@Bluelight,
Agree as I think case rates need to be far lower, maybe as low as 10 per 100,000.
However, it has been mentioned time and again by many experts and even Govt ministers that compliance with regulations has been very high. The main problems that still persist and have never been fully addressed are those associated with having an effective track & trace system and insufficient support for those required to self-isolate.
ak maybe , we be mere mushrooms. K
The article indicates Scotland lab already has already been shelved. Saying the proposed labs in Gateshead and Plymouth will have reduced capacities than had been planned.
This might be a move away from the central labs to more at point tests. Could be good for promate and phase 2
Read that before , old news , I commented on bb at time is it Boris warning Sturgeon.
I personally think we will see a huge increase in cases again post lockdown. People wont obey rules as always. I took my little one to the childrens park today and I have never seen it so packed, and we are still in lockdown!

Will we see an increase in pillar 1 testing?
