MMs flipping shares now to my eyes - usually a good sign.
Fingers crossed for at least one RNS this week. Or a press release from the Malawi Gov...
'The Malawi government is not leaving the sector’s success to chance. Several measures have been put in place to enhance the growth and profitability of mining. To encourage investment, the government has implemented tax incentives and established a mining and minerals regulatory authority. Moreover, it has identified roads leading to potential major mining projects for upgrading.
The government has also opened discussions with the Ministry of Energy to ensure power supply to these major mining projects. Other strategies include the introduction of community development agreements for large-scale mining projects, the establishment of the Malawi Environment Protection Authority, and gold and gemstone buying initiatives by the Reserve Bank of Malawi.'
Major Mining Projects on the Horizon
Currently, seven larger projects are set to kick off and may begin production by the end of the decade. These include Kanyika Niobium Mining in Mzimba, Songwe Hill Rare Earths Mining in Phalombe, Malingunde Graphite in Lilongwe, Rutile in Lilongwe, Makanjira Heavy Mineral Sands in Mangochi, Tengani -Heavy Minerals Sands in Nsanje, and Kangankunde Rare Earth in Balaka.

Mining is one of the priority areas under the industrialisation pillar in the country’s effort to achieve the upper-middle income status by 2063.
In its July 2023 Malawi Economic Monitor, the World Bank observed that while projections from mining firms indicate that the sector could play a significant role in the economy, these projections need to be treated with caution at this stage.'

'Pentagon Seeks Supply of Chip-Mineral Gallium After China Curbs Exports
The Pentagon plans to issue a first-time contract to US or Canadian companies by year-end to recover gallium, a mineral used in semiconductors and military radar systems, after China curbed exports this month.
The curbs prompted US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to voice her concern during a recent visit to Beijing.
The Pentagon, which has reserves of germanium but not gallium, plans to use its authority under the Defense Production Act for “prioritizing awards” by Dec. 31, “focusing on recovery of gallium from existing waste streams of other products,” spokesman Jeff Jurgensen said in a statement.
“Recovery, not mining, is the fastest way to make the materials more available in the US,” the Pentagon said. DPA funds previously “have not been awarded for minerals recycling projects.”
Gallium and germanium are typically extracted during mining operations for other materials. But it’s expensive to process and refine them so they have often been treated as waste by western companies, while China came to dominate the supply.'
You'll likely need 20/10 to reap the full rewards here but don't get bored out of it - imo it has all the ingredients to bake a truly special cake of 10x+ if you just sit.
RNS tomorrow or Monday? Considering BOD mentioned hypromag transaction news by end of the month
Game on IMO.
Although now patience level 14 of 10.
That's just general market sentiment at the moment, nothing unique to MKA. But if you're an investor you don't want to get caught out not holding on the days when it does jump.
That recent video with the board members shows so much confidence. If the sp drops close to 9p then I'm buying more.
At the risk of being labeled a FUD merchant, I do worry that so much momentum has been lost that even these news events will just see a quick rise followed by heavy selling. No matter how good the news. Alway happy to have my fears allayed though!
I tend to agree Silvermaple. Needs some actual news. Not just a recap of past events. MDA, off take agreements and recycling plants commissioning are game changers... but when will they arrive? Waiting game has been tedious for a long time
Going to take more than video presentation dog and pony show to fix it
When you're playing with the US govt then you tend to know which side your bread is buttered on and do/say what you're told to do /say.
Remember this:

Remember SVML's rutile deposit is the biggest in the world ever. And it's plausible MKA's will be even bigger! MKA need a good reason to keep it on the back-burner. So I suspect they must be very confident a decent Songwe MDA is round the corner, to be focusing so much on that, rather than the rutile.
GLA
Here he is, right on queue. After his "should I, shouldn't I" escapade. How's the bruise on the back of your head after the door hit you??
They didnt they noted an asset which is low priority.
Malawi's and Rio's excitement about Sovereign's rutile indicates the Songwe MDA has to be v close surely. Why else would MKA soft pedal on its rutile...
We know from the webinar Q&A the Rutile resource is on hold for now due to costs and obviously the Songwe MDA being the priority but according to Yami who always comments on The Ministry of Minings posts ...Mkango he thinks ...and he does seem to know about these things.. is sat on the biggest amount of Rutile in Malawi...
'The current market price hovers around $1350 per ton, but Sovereign Metals Limited Sovereign Metals Limited has managed to secure premium buyers willing to pay in excess of $2000/ton.
While this project is being promoted as the largest rutile deposit globally, it is essential to acknowledge that within Malawi, there exists a potential project with Mkango in Dowa that could even have triple the rutile reserves compared to Kasiya.
This emphasizes the need for careful assessment and consideration of all available opportunities.'
