Can anyone advise what the term "buy dividends" means. Its under Director Deals- its a term ive not heard of before??
Clive Fenton came in with a new brush, sold the crane services , to falcon cranes, then set up a deal to rent them back, that’s been a disaster, sold construction services , hired everything in. Got outside architects in, got rid of there own architects departments, don’t know if that was a saving it not, doubt it , went for value engineering, cheapest is not always best , can end up dearer? Trying to drive prices down. When competing for labour against the housing sector, then filled there offices with non producers , Mc carthy and Stone , before this lot of new management came in was in a good place . Not now , they’ve ripped the heart out of it , most of the old Mc Carthy staff are gone , it’s old spirit is dead , but that’s what they seem to aim for today in senior management, grind them in to the dust, and then have a seminar , fill them full of shit, and tell them there happy.
In the morning, I expect them to hit there targets, but don't see a big move in the share price.
p.s. Would have been good to have had a company statement about this today
Seriously for a second, who picks up the bill? The loony Romanian wont have 4 million sitting in the Skipton BS to meet it. I googled Fenton, the contractor he was employed by, and they seem a small operation so again presumably wont be able to meet the cost without declaring themselves bankrupt (which ends their liability). Which leaves 2 possibilities in my mind a) Insurance, but would that cover risks of wilful damage by nutty East Europeans actually working on the site or b) a £4m hit on MCS profits. Why do I suspect that the contractor will fold, insurance will say 'policy exclusion' and therefore b) will apply?
Yes , it had to be us !
Like most I was mildly amused by the story today of a Romanian builder going a bit bonkers with a JCB. All because he felt he was due unpaid wages at a new development of 5 bungalows in Hertfordshire. He did a reported £4m of damage.
Mildly amused that is until I heard who the owners of the nearly finished properties are.
Need a clue...…………….?? Go on, guess!!
108.55p +2.35p
There is volume as the share price slowly has been moving higher, but today is having a spike as it broke 107.50p the last resistance as Intraday high during the last 10 days
The charts at ADVFN are not working properly, especially on the volume side, other places show as 4.3M, and that is almost double of the normal full day
On the bounce today, as there is plenty of volume
There was a 4.19M @ 101.90p sell that found buyers on 3 lots at 102.70p, must be the last of an Institution

They are ftse 250 which makes it even worse.... Feel sorry for the first people in that paid up to 270 a share!
Mc carthy and stone, 3 years ago before the present set of muppets , started running it, was well run, a few things required looking at, but all in all , it was in a good place. So let's turn it upside down, and start again. We will double + units per annum , we will get rid of our in house architects, we will sell off our crane hire buissiness! cut staff,
Also we will cut build times down, oh really. These people have not got a clue about building blocks of flats.
Oh and your shares will be worth six pounds in 5 years.
Another CEO , over promising , under delivering, seen everywhere on aim,
pratt clive fenton should be sacked... The muppet couldn't run a plss up in a brewery
Why blame Brexit. What has that got to do with UK retirement flats. We DID vote to join, back in the 60s or 70s we forget the date, BUT we voted for what was put forward as a FREE TRADE union NOT for the Gerries and French to set our laws. (This is why the sensible people voted to leave. A lot of young forget the trade we had with the Commonwealth who we let down. Don't forget the French blocked our entry twice after we got their land back for them in 1945. My wife warned that once they had us in they would try and run us, how right she was. However Selling retirement flats should be a nice steady occupation with more and more reaching retirement age.
Its about time the bod stepped up to the table and bought some shares...
St Mowden nice to see them involved as we hold quite a few of them, well worth buying more StModwen
MCS looks cheap and should always be popular with OAP We infact are looking at similar but MCS are a bit pricey along with th extras.
Added a few more today for the offspring!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is a piece a shlt ran by muppets! To think some people paid over 2 quid in the ipo. Needs a whole new bod with a bit of direction... 107 and im out evens never to return i think...
Shareprice has gone even lower than I thought (110P) , ref my last comment , buying a few for pension pot , lth gla
Have the Directors got burnt as well ! The sites that are built on Merseyside have sold very quickly , I think three flats left in Crosby still for sale , and all only just built . Nice development in village which is being upgraded by St. Modwen.
Yep read the reports that all he did... Brexit this brexit that...
Ceo blaming brexit, poor show
Nice try?
Nice try mate.
Im out for today.... Got my money out plus a bit of profit ill and have another look tomorrow...
Just bought some for my Isa I think the fall today is grossly overdone and this share will bounce back quickly
To be honest they were blaming brexit for ages and no other comapany was struggling... They should have changed it about 12 months ago
