Yeah you would think they will follow suit very soon. I'm getting locked in too. Missed some of the momentum on TW so following hoping to get some here.
Expecting news on sites opening back up shortly, similar to other house builders this week. Will be some pent up buying demand once things get back on track. Great price to buy-in, I'm topping up!
Yes, your responses do make good sense and many thanks to both of you.
Jaajoon, I think the reason for the jump in share price is people now see this as a safe bet, in the RNS 25-3 they stated that they would be able to operate with NO SALES REVENUE for a period of 2.5 years. Think about it, that’s massive, most companies struggle after a couple of months with limited revenue. So in other words they could turn the lights off for 2 years & still have a buisness.
Nope, not a clue! There isn't much logic about, so best not to look for it. PR victory letting accommodation out for key workers etc but not sure how that turns into prospects.
Hope that helped even though I know it didn't. Keep well.
Can anyone explain the reason for the jump in price today. I have read the RNS that they have suspended work , dividend and buying property etc.. but I would have thought this would have dragged the price down , not up !
Ok. No longer building!
Well this is a rollercoaster isn't it? Seems to have been massively savaged here, and I'm not sure I really understand why. The market is still there, albeit isolated for a while. Doesn't stop them building a stock of properties for when the crisis is relaxed, I'm not aware of property values collapsing. Anyone care to explain to Mt Thicko here because he'd like to know
Is there anyone out there (out there, out there, out there, out there...…………)
That was meant to be an echo by the way
Happy New Year Zo00m, from apparently the only other McCarthy and Stone shareholder. Does that mean we own 50% each?
Wonder if I'm talking to myself on this one.......
DOH -- LSE not AIM
??
Yeah Sorry John
Noticed the date after I hit the submit button :-)
Tory win has had a major impact on FTSE100 today in general.
Wow. A 2 month 2 day delayed reply!
I agree with you, am guessing a potentially stimulated housing market and benign regulation. Lets hope for more upwards movement
Election result.
What a quiet board this is! Any idea about todays jump?
Any idea why? I'm still under water here (more like drowning actually) but its nice to finally see some blue ink. Maybe a delayed reaction to the Leasehold exemption?
Profit is up and debt reduced slightly. Steady as she goes I would say.
Disappointing results today , but they are still in business , things just not moving thanks to our illustrious politicians. Bring back Guy Fawkes !
John Tonkiss , said in the construction enquirer, We’re going to get costs down , by keener tendering for sub contractors, and we’re going to get , build times down. Oh really , tradespersons are in short supply , so get the cheapest , and then build faster. Another example of a ceo, totally out of touch with reality. Mc stone are in a hole , and there keeping digging.
We are going to build the homes cheaper and charge the residents more to increase our margins to 15 %. What a clever plan!
