You called 70’s so your accidental typo of 60’s, I wouldn’t be at all surprised sir!
70's rather!!
I thought the writing was on the wall after the Brains acquisition , didn't see that as a good move!...but of course this Delta variant has caused this recent collapse in the SP. I sold out at 94p, which I was fortunate to do.
Would I buy back in now that it's into the 60's?...
No.
Pasty called it and here it is, in the 70’s
i.e. It might be a good time to buy them up cheap and then develop them for additional housing! i.e. In the past few years I have been doing this myself and there is a lot of money to be made from development believe me.
Could be an opportunity? Same for Marstons if they do not need all of the pubs as we will know soon how they are doing, then sell them for development. The value of them will increase with permission especially for any large car parks!!
I just hope RF does not get it into his head to put a bid in for those pubs. While I do see a degree of logic in the Brain's deal, I'm still nowhere near being 100% confident he's done that the right way for the business, but I'm not sure adding more to our estate is the best way forward.
If they do have cash to burn, (which I doubt at the moment) I'd prefer that money to be put to use bringing the ones we have that need bringing up to a better standard.

I certainly hope RF is tucked up out of the way somewhere, a purchase like that with our likely cash flow at present would really add more "brewers droop" to our SP !
barchid interesting, is it concievable Ralph will throw one final dice and acquire these Pubs?
Initially the market does not appear impressed by anticipated beer sales this last weekend!!!
I see Youngs announced today they are selling 56 pubs for £53 million to "raise firepower to upgrade other premises", odd that MARS went in opposite direction, taking on a very similar number of sub optimal pubs from Brains.
Time alone will tell who was right.
Yep that was my view weeks ago. If it continues the downwards trend the market knows MARS have some serious problems, and are not impressed by recent appointments.
The current trend may present some buying opportunites for the brave.
In the 90's ??
It's in the mid 80's !!
And despite such a positive day for the markets, it couldn't hold that 86p support so looks like a gap fill down towards 82p next
oscillate
Amirkat, the SP will isolate in the 90's for a while. Once annual figures are known the World will know how MARS have come through this pandemic. The firvent euphoria regarding current sales is fine and suits traders. LTH's are looking to see organic growth and a significant diminution of debt.
Do not forget your parachute unless you want to leave a nasty mess on the sands of Beachy Head!!
AIMO. DYOR
Several months back I was very positive about mars getting above 100p, not so now. Well done our magnificent government for welcoming the delta variant with open arms. As for a foreign holiday or staycation, I’ll be contemplating grimly at the Beachy Head Arms.
Great buy in opportunity here today, should see a nice rebound in this SP come Monday (esp if England win!)
This weekend is going to be huge for beer sales, it was estimated that 9.7 million pints would be consumed and that was against Denmark and that was mid-week so predictions for Sunday are going to be interesting - 15-20 million pints ?

i’m assuming bathe dyock fall is in reaction to the potential for people to be pinged and forced to isolate. I’m also assuming the market is expecting this fact to stop people from visiting pubs . Perhaps today when gov announce changes to isolation criteria things may change.
An I've got me tinnys in cause its Friday an all
Must admit expected Mars to 'recover' a bit quicker like
But hey ho I guess we all get to wait for the actual economic recovery if such s thing actually exists in our futures
Have a great weekendy end as always
The original tinster ( see wot I did there )
Just see the news yesterday, government opening up travel destinations so people now will be rushing to book their summer vacations, perhaps sp is a reaction to the risk of a drop in predicted sales as there won’t be a big staycation as what was initially thought
Whether at home with the mates or in a pub the beer sales are well up! With us coming out of lock down this is just the market playing their tricks of getting cheap stocks and they will buy on the dip next week I am sure.
i.e. My "Esken" where I have a large holding were down earlier and are now up almost 5% in about 1/s an hr. They own Carlisle and Southend airports. Expect a strong recovery from them too once pax.return however the future is also in warehousing where they have thousands of ft. of space in use, and are even building larger facilities. Stay calm.
With England team on a roll and fans downing beer like its going out of fashion, why would Marstons SP be on a downer, It's a crazy market right now.
YoYoMa
You spud manure stocks are building up nicely after a "strong buy" at 94.30p, "might see a big jump tomorrow" & here we are Thursday at 86.85p.
Certainly would have been fired by Murdoch if he ever had a job on the Mystic Meg desk.
Can't do MARS any harm to have England in the final on Sunday night
YoYoMa
Always a pleasure to hear from you about your spuds, & their manure, especially so with your Jim Henson analogy.
I agree we do seem to have moved on from mono, through stereo & now into surround sound.
