Looking at all the Southend Airport jobs being advertised there is clearly something bubbling away in the background. Tide finally turning? Time will tell......https://www.essexlive.news/whats-on/whats-on-news/jobs-southend-airport-hiring-right-8107391?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target
All the current restrictions on passenger numbers at Heathrow may provide an opportunity for Southend. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62386909
Always take with a pinch of salt but on the premise cash burn is under tight control and Energy is looking stronger than expected, if (and its a big if) the Airport side can build a story for 2023 this could be back in the 20's although realistically not until next year unless some good news comes out of left field
https://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/19999907.easyjet-summer-flights-faro-return-southend-airport/ - business is trickling back.....
Interesting day so far......is all going to depend on how big the pent up demand is for European travel now that travel restrictions are easing.
Sentiment has done a 180 on this stock - market is beginning to see it as a recovery play now that the doom and gloom is dying down. The moment one of the airlines makes any noises about re-starting at Southend this will bounce hard - risk is that it might be until next year they get this news but trajectory is now well and truly north for a change until things settle down https://www.***************************/esken-ltd-aviation-has-real-potential-upside-analyst-interview/4121024319
Worth a listen - Zeus sees Esken as undervalued and has a 35p target. Just needs the market to catch up. Cargo volumes are strong at the airport and they have 25% market cap in the biomass market with long term contracts in place - definitely feels like it is turning...https://www.***************************/esken-ltd-aviation-has-real-potential-upside-analyst-interview/4121024319

Has the feel of some news due......this could just as easily hit 10p as 40p - keeps it interesting
Positive sentiment in the travel stocks today with the government due to make the announcement around travel restrictions being eased later today
First time we have seen 14p+ in a while. Government announcement this week would help sentiment. This could quickly bounce back given the beating the share has taken over the last few months. Some money to be made in the short term. Medium/ long term is anyone's guess....
Now all they need are the airlines and the passengers to return!!

Complete lottery as to where this share price goes.......passenger numbers are on the up. Challenge is that Southend Airport needs all the London airports to be approaching capacity (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton only have five runways) before they are able to pick up any of the over flow and re-engage with their old sparring partners at Easy Jet and Ryan Air. May as well walk into a casino and put on red or black but it least keeps it interesting......... https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/ryanair-passenger-numbers-rise-august-071151225.html
Might be catching a falling knife with this one, but am looking to take up the basic entitlement plus the excess shares maximum up to 4 times the basic entitlement. 14p; 10p, 5p, 25p or 35p is anyone's guess where this one ends up but at least it keeps it interesting. A good indicator will be if they fill the 4 times excess shares or not as to what the appetite is in the market.
Total lottery at this stage - doubling down and let's see what happens. Feel like I might get better odds walking into a casino and putting my money on red or black:)

Finally some good news for Esken. Once international travel reopens this will change the momentum - still has the feeling of as a soft target for aquisition.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57758991
Momentum all seems to be heading in the wrong direction. Removing quarantine for Amber destinations will likely lead to a bounce shortly - question is whether it is a dead cat bounce or something more sustainable. At these levels, become an attractive takeover target.....
