????????????????????????????????So as much as we know some people don't like talking Christmas too early .... WE DO!!!
We want to be as festive as we can this year as we get to spend the festive period together. As a new manager Ive arrived with no decorations on site and wondered if you lovely locals would like to help me tinsel up the place for you all!
I'm looking for anyone who has any spare decorations in their loft or if you're anything like my mum and change the colour scheme every year we would absolutely appreciate any donations towards our Xmas!! Let's make our Xmas together a great one
My old pubs new manager begging for decs for xmas. Really?????
consider this are used to take around 125,000 a year in profit over and above my 20% turnover money. The bully me out the 20% Of turnover pays for stuff £225,000 profit share becomes says I feel they are doing it this way in an attempt to make more money at the cost of the retailer
they are good at that. i know loads that have had the misfortune . Me included.
i disagree with Marston’s comment re all pubs being open from 17May. It may be a small point but i’m aware That some never opened on this date . infact not for at least a week. RF you need to give accurate info and not lies.
i’m assuming bathe dyock fall is in reaction to the potential for people to be pinged and forced to isolate. I’m also assuming the market is expecting this fact to stop people from visiting pubs . Perhaps today when gov announce changes to isolation criteria things may change.
hi run a franchise of marston’s, i will not open even though i have a large outdoor area, simply not viable
i run a franchise operation for Marston’s. I will not be reopening till we are allowed to operate indoors. We are all aiming for the May date. zoe as soon as the gov allow this type of opening. i’m of the view that very few pubs will be opening until May. It’s not a viable option . Better to take the furlough and go for early summer reopen. Opening in April will cost money.
We will have plenty of customers wanting to spend money however as we can go not allow so many in . I.e 30% capacity . It makes it impossible to create sufficient revenue to pay wages and make profit
We would normally open 11 till 3ish yes , normally staffing isn’t an issue however in my case they don’t benefit from working, quite the contrary . It is infact their view that they run the risk of contracting covid from allowing large groups from varying households to gather. I have to agree with them. Unfortunately I feel the plc will start quoting contractual responsibilities and probably breach me and kick me out. We will wait and see
Oh and for the stakeholders information I too own some 52k shares so my decision is not taken by the promise of higher returns.
I suspect I will be lead down the path of corporate bullying but unfortunately for them I’m no pushover
I actually ran a Marston franchise, for me the operation is completely not viable on any of the proposed tiers. Therefore I probably won’t reopen. The consumption of food whilst drinking will kit work . It will only force more to stay closed. Marston’s on the other hand are in a win win situation as far as franchise and retail are concerned. Operators are responsible for staff wages which makes it easier to stay on furlough, even through Christmas. The 5 day break at Xmas opens up moral and safety issues for me. Do I put my staff and myself at risk just to allow the plc to make money while I lose. Any opinions??
Not a director but a close acquaintance
I’m a Marston’s franchisee and heard nothing. Frustrated by the lack of apparent interest in off sales.
Just bear in mind we have given away 60 pc of the brewing company. So I assume we will only recieve 40 pc of the profits generated. Carlsberg is imported. Pubs are going to be terrible for a while maybe a little too much excitement. We will see. Carlsberg will be n charge. If pubs fail not their problem. Basically split the company into 2 . Perhaps carlsberg could bully and buy the brewing side for peanuts.
Only values brewing business. Equalisation payment I assume goes to marstons . Which will reduce the debt for the pub co. Slightly confused. Is the new company going to be a private co or plc
I am a Marston’s franchisee. All I know is that because of state aid rules they cannot accept any grants from government potentially 25k per qualifying pub. Also they have furloughed all area and most recently all regional managers : only skeleton staff.
They are prioritising repairs and all codex has been suspended. I feel also that a takeover is a possibility. They have only recently sold a lot of pubs to new river and Admiral. Not sure how I feel about the coming
Why the convertible bonds then. Which allowed you nstitutions to short the price down making a fortune.
I was told yesterday that 2 senior members of the project delivery team have been dismissed , probably with a glowing reference and an NDA. Oh and loads of our money.
