With this news and Sandstorm being a large shareholder. 1. Are there any other large shareholders (institutions?) who could lead a vote against the deal and/or bring a large miner to the table? 2. Is this deal too rich for Lydya to make a counter offer?
A very strange feeling, making money and moaning about it .But I had so much more hope for Marl. Going for a pint to spend some of it, Potential retirement but no yacht called Marl, and Sanstorm doesn't suit a boat. GLA
LUDECK Been a bit of talk here in the past hour about Sandstorm needing to convince their own holders of the worth of this deal. Whilst that is true in the sense that they don't want investors to bail out and crash their own sp, I think I would be right in saying that Sandstorm holders will not be voting for this deal, will they? =============================================== They will. Give `em Russian Zone results and they would be asking for more. It`s done deal pal and I`ve been in this share since 2009 It is what it is, I hope most of folks made good return here.
had said " the Board of Mariana Resources are pleased to announce that a bid has been made for the assets of the company. The Board has rejected the offer on the grounds that the value of the assets far exceeds the offer on the table. (Aka Solgold) Perhaps we would then have seen a nice multi-bagging here too!! In my dreams. GLA whatever the outcome.
Call wasn't overly informative - much of what is already out there in the public domain...but yes, GP talked about what his role would be if the t/o happened..does sound like he thinks it's a done deal....but never say never...we haven't heard from Sprott as yet and as I say, could be others waiting in the wing who will now have their hand forced...HM is just too good an asset to pass on..once in a decade (or two!) find.. Will let you know about next week mate.
Thanks samroy
Everyone's thoughts on the deal..... will it happen ? Will a new offer/buyer come in ? What will the sp go to? I'm not sure myself just interested what others think thanks in advance...
Skibba it just your dirty mind sir!! Hey not overly disappointed. Always had a figure of £1 as my decision point but HM is worth so much more. Wish I could listened to the call sound as though GP was less than impressive, interesting that he has a role already suggest they believe it to be a done deal!
@ Bushy - Think we're all a little bit disappointed with the price buddy, but a) it's early days b) could very well find we have another interested party hovering around (or not as the case maybe!) and if there is, they'll soon need to show their hand.. c) surely you can't be too unhappy! You had a significantly lower average than me and I'm sitting on very healthy profits (more would be nice of course!) So you & the General have already booked your tickets? I'll only have a better idea of my movements after the end of next week I'm afraid :( Will drop the General a text next week if I can... PS - careful how you write things, it may get misconstrued - "may book a hotel so I can get a bit merry and give GP both barrels!!" - hello matron!! ....hahaha!!! :)
Anyone know what's happening on tsx with us at the minute.sorry can't access myself
Thank you for your clarification, Kels, I see your point. Cordially Lionel
Been a bit of talk here in the past hour about Sandstorm needing to convince their own holders of the worth of this deal. Whilst that is true in the sense that they don't want investors to bail out and crash their own sp, I think I would be right in saying that Sandstorm holders will not be voting for this deal, will they? I mean... we didn't vote when Mariana acquired Aegean, and that was more or less the same kind of situation.
Has there been any indication of a date / month for the EGM / vote?
Lionel we know it's a great great deal for sand shareholders long term but nobody likes to wake up to 19% dilution and they are currently voting with their feet by hitting the sell button. It's psychological but if their share price had rocketed up 15% today i/we would be feeling a lot better about having sand shares thrust on us in the future. Every day from now to the vote people will look at sand share price and work out in reality where the value of the deal stands. currently just over a £1 ..hard sell all round at that level
All good mate. Slightly better off today but disappointed in the sell price but If I can get above £1 then I will seriously consider it. Yep am back in the smoke so all clear for a Beer or three. Will be at proactive with the General and may book a hotel so I can get a bit merry and give GP both barrels!!
GP and ER just cashing in their bonus/options put through a short time ago. Price manipulation great for SAND, not for Mariana shareholders
IMO will only see this as a momentary blip. When all the missing drills and permits and future updated estimates arrive it will be like the 6th cavalry coming over the hill and rescuing John Wayne. If we hold Sandstorm I believe it will significantly gain on Marl asset news (not as much as marl would have on their own) ,but at the moment we are left looking at the Cowboys who have panicked after being surrounded.
I'm very well thank you skipper! Not booked my ticket as yet - but if I can clear the decks in terms of work in time then I will 100%... How's all with you?? Were you not heading into the big smoke soon??
Sandstorm already has a 2.0% NSR royalty on the Hot Maden project. Sandstorm acquired the royalty as part of a transaction with Teck Resources Ltd. in January 2016.Sandstorm also holds 8,980,243 Mariana shares, representing approximately 7.0% of the issued ordinary share capital of Mariana, and Mariana warrants over a further 4,490,122 Mariana shares.
How the devil are you sir. You coming to proactive?
large delayed buys now showing up as sells...yawn!
Kels, sir! Isn't this a magnificent deal for SAND shareholders? Could you pls explain your thinking why they might see this as a bad deal? Cordially Lionel
@Ludeck - was just the same information re-hashed...and yes Kelsbells, is a big sell for both companies - though I would suggest Sandstorm investors would be rubbing their hands in glee with this...the share price fall in the US market says otherwise...perhaps a shake by the US MM's - different country, same tactics!
They were both nervous, in that that they know this is going to be s tough sell to both sets of shareholders . Long way to go on this yet I feel !
