Never a problem with liquidity Faulkes, market size 30,000.
~80,000,000 sold today
~27,000,000 bought
Got these from the LLOY front page on here.
Just did a dummy buy for £495,000 and it didn’t go to negotiated - the shares are sloshing around.
Well if as you suggest Brits have no confidence in the UK economy what would the SP be if foreigners did not buy them? Seems foreigners have more confidence in the UK economy than Brits do which is supporting the SP.
LTI,35% is a nicer figure and would confirm Brits still have confidence in the UK economy but you seem happier with higher figures, each to their own.
According to the U.S. Treasury department, foreigners owned $8.63 trillion worth of U.S. equities through the end of the second quarter of 2019, which is the equivalent of 35.3% of the total market capitalization of the S&P 500

Snige seems to have a problem in understanding that a company being publicly quoted , that anyone in the world can purchase the shares. and not restricted to only the London stock exchange.
So what if 66% of investors are foreign? They bought the shares legally on the open market.
Snige
BTW
Did you know you can buy shares in Blackrock ,Goldman Sachs etc etc etc

''if the SP of lloyds goes up,something we'd both support and 66% of the shareholders are foreign then it benefits more foreigners than Brits.''
Anyone would think you plucked that 66% of Lloyds shareholders are foreigners out of thin air.
As I have already said shareholders can spend their money anywhere - buying more Lloyds shares or any other stock. A UK citizen on a holiday abroad, a USA citizen on a holiday to the UK.
Snige, are you ever going to purchase a 'thinking cap'.
Look forward to your post showing the nationality of all shareholders.
LTI,
if the SP of lloyds goes up,something we'd both support and 66% of the shareholders are foreign then it benefits more foreigners than Brits.
No more anti UK negativity please, although i think the please is wasted on you.
To-date, I believe all Lloyds buybacks have been cancelled.
Just saying.
Agree with some share buyback in principal as long as the shares are cancelled immediately; they should not be held in treasury to be used as future bonus awards to BOD!

''if you were happy for Lloyds to pay smaller dividends more cash would stay in the UK to invest here.''
?
Just as shareholders receiving dividends can invest/spend the money anywhere, so can Lloyds from retained profits .
The level of dividend is not any concern to me - I would be content with a maximum yearly share buyback providing the shares are at attractive prices.
LTI,
A couple of Pro UK thoughts,if you were happy for Lloyds to pay smaller dividends more cash would stay in the UK to invest here.
"Foreign investors now own 66% of UK-listed shares, up from 64% in 2019, according to analysis of the London market that shows a steep decline in domestic holdings by British shareholders."
Come on England!
Snige do you regret not buying LLOYDS at 24p?
Your post seems to contradict itself as well "Well tomorrow is the big day for direction" but you then say "either way its not good news" surely there is only one direction in your opinion lol
Also what does 2021 have to do the financial crash? business is currently booming in 2021 even with restrictions
Snige
No end to your anti UK negativity.
An 11 year old annual report - what is that all about .
Well tomorrow is the big day for direction and if the B of E suggest rates are likely to rise then a lot of people and business are going to be pushed over the edge like in 2009/2010
"Significant reduction in the impairment charge. Impairment
charge was 45 per cent lower at £13,181 million (2009: £23,988 million)"
But if they suggest rates are going to stay the same then the banks are going to suffer from a low NIM,either way it's not good news.

Eighty eight there is strong support at 47p but I agree with you it is going to take a lot to get much higher I feel 48pence will be a struggle
anyways what i was trying to say is the sp will probably do neither.....i feel the sp will react to any negative news quickly but will move slowly upward on positive news unless its from the bofe PRA....im a large buyer at 44.5 if it ever gets there again ...and 49.5 would signal some real positive news on the horizon.....gl and atb.
forget it now..i was annoyed that you constantly think im another poster...in the great scheme of things its not important...gl .
no problem
falkland...your idiocy is boundless...i am not westcountrybo...i would wager a large sum of money betting on that fact im sure it can be arranged somehow if your game...you have issues its well documented.please take your fantasy trading and paranoia elsewhere....
either price works for me...that would top off a good week so far..gla
