"The Statens Serum Institute, a medical laboratory in Denmark, said that there is no indication that the new variant can cause severe illness.".
Good news.
I also read the uk Government has no pans for mass vaccinations this Winter.
Seems to be another Covid scare with no basis.
All IMHO.
OK. That news was from last Monday, 14th August. However that matters not as if they expect record passenger numbers for August it's highly likely the other airlines are raking it in too. The market is being affected by the China news IMHO however it will settle down. Money moves around fast these days. Clearly the Airlines are doing well (record passenger numbers!) so IMHO the shares will rebound bigtime. Monday/Tuesday??? This afternoon!?
All IMHO.
For August!! So why are WIZZ, JET2, EZJ and IAG down a load at the moment. BOUNCE TIME METHINKS!!!
https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/ryanair-expects-beat-monthly-passenger-record-august-2023-08-14/
Certainly pumping out plenty of Jet 2 adverts regularly on air.
Bot of value being presented again given those not too distant good results.
Increasing his share holding in On The Beach to 7.51%. That gives the whole market more confidence in the holiday market. I think JET2 and IAG are undervalued. I think WIZZ are extremely cheap even with the Pratt & Whitney engine issue. Also EZJ. Confident all will come back from the current dip.
From the OTB RNS:-
"Following this purchase, Simon Cooper, will have an interest in 12,521,226 Ordinary Shares, representing 7.51% of the issued share capital of the Company, as outlined below. ".
All IMHO.
Is it going to have a bit of a rise towards the 21st, hopefully it will keep going past that
Up 2.4% today, one of the few risers on my screen. In fact the only other one is MKS.
About time too.
All I know is holidays are expensive this year!
I'm not really au fait with the way Jet2 work on the web, but they don't seem to be lowering prices much for last minute holidays as much as TUI do. Or at least used to.
This makes me think that there is strong demand and my daughter and her family are currently in Greece with Jet2, having only accompanied us to Turkiye 6 weeks ago. She blamed the rubbish weather here as the reason to go away again so soon.
I'm actively looking to go away again already too, which backs up my reasoning.
I'm predicting very good results and a good sp surge too.
Im expecting a share price surge by the end of Aug £12 minumum
Looking back last 5 years they have always released an update RNS on the morning of the AGM, so expect that on 7th September. HY results will then be released on 23rd November.
botbot - possible answer on the back of a beer mat - market is forward looking and there was no forward guidance on profit in the results on 6th July*, together with the general market being subdued due to interest rate/recession fears for rest of this year into next. Until Jet2 can show actual numbers for the summer season and an indication for FY24 then there may not be much upward movement. But the markets are often irrational so who knows...
* their reasoning:
"Looking forward, although we continue to believe that the end-to-end package holiday is a resilient and popular product, particularly during difficult economic times and our ability to offer truly variable duration holidays enables our Customers to tailor their holiday plans to suit their individual budgets, we are cognisant of how quickly the macro-economic environment is evolving and how this may affect consumers' future spending.
On that basis, and with the peak summer months of July, August and September not yet complete plus the majority of Winter 2023/2024 seat capacity still to sell, it remains premature as is always the case at this time of year, to provide definitive guidance as to Group profitability for the financial year ending 31 March 2024."
Wait early October for summer quarter results..and any commentary on improving fire safety around hotels .Rhodes was only 10% of hotels.Recent hawaii fires dont help although obviously not Mediterranean.Temperatures have gone down to normal levels.
So we have results, beating expectations.
Forward bookings excellent.
BUT the founder then announces he's retiring..........and we tank.
BUT...... we've not recovered. We are at the height of the season of travel, all prices have gone up.........
and we're still tanked.
Anyone with any ideas. Answers on a postcard please.!
I know that but Unite staff operate out of many airports.
Onsolidground………the strike was not going to affect J2 as they don’t operate from Gatwick. Stansted is the only London airport that they operate from.
Maybe fire in Rhodes been put out
1m and 200k value buys after hours today. Could be positive for a Monday open.
By the fires. Ridiculous.
All IMHO.
Yes, come on James, tell us what you mean, please.
I've just read some of your comments and frankly, they're a disgrace, with not a good word to say to anybody, by the looks of it.
Tell us what you think, as it would be appreciated if you have some decent insight.
Otherwise, it's the filter, I'm afraid.
You know nothing about. Scaff,, tell us jet2.knowitall
So what exactly are you saying then, James?
Scaff knows nothing about the company, love from someone who does. xx
