Uptick in Buyback volume yesterday - back above daily average.
https://ibb.co/pfDsBZJ
There’s at least 1 large seller about . I accept a buyback can only sit passively on the bid but today is a classic example of how they could sit at 71.5 ( for example ) and suck up loads but buyback managers flake away. There’s passive and there’s and capitulation . Today was the later . CEO & BoD will only lead this company to it death , on a relatively quiet flat day the SP sinks like stone .
Six long years of a useless CEO who with the help of a management with no acumen and this is where we are, the usual idiots on LSE still defending the indefensible! A sub 70p share price and nobody is buying, well not strictly true as ITV use their £235 million shareholder funds to buyback duff shares in the company they have put on it's knees. A bid coming, Jam tomorrow, Mr Bates and whatever the heck daily boost is, no one is buying.
Dame McCall, please retire and tend the garden of the house you bought with your gigantic undeserved pay and bonuses. And do us all a favour and take at least 75% of you sycophantic overpaid board with you!
I thought the buy backs might have prevented such large daily falls.
What’s with the fall today?
Not a chance this is going to mid 80s let alone £1 anytime soon. It’s meeting resistance in early 70s so there is obviously a seller ( or more than 1 ) at those levels . And I’d be amazed if anyone bids for this company given problems the potential Telegraph bidder faced . Trading update may surprise us all ( either way as could a stock market correction ) but I strongly suspect this will drift at 68-75 levels for a while
You make Calculations based on your forecasts yet you acknowledge that it is clear stupidity to take them seriously because too much depends on external market forces which you cannot predict?
So you know you are stupid and of low intelligence and yet still you make forecasts which so far have been 100% wrong.
Please nobody take this spam bot seriously. He spells out in his own posts why he is intellectually challenged. This is an investor who believes in holding only one stock and investing all time and effort into that.
The lack of understanding that forecasts are just forecasts and that they depend on external market conditions, at least some of which cannot be predicted, proves the clear stupidity of those expressing these theses. "well, it didn't work." In addition this people do not read posts explaining what these forecasts are based on. Because as I understand that the answer to the question "Why?" is intellectually beyond some people, I advise you to follow my posts.
As I said... It's just a few days to find out if my ITV share price calculations based on my forecasts are correct. Nobody has to agree too with them or with my way of thinking and drawing conclusions.
Not to long to wait....
Just as many, many ‘so-called ‘analysts’ make predictions which fail to materialise. Can’t see why you obsess so much over an individual poster.
Nobody has the same opinion as Pyongyang Pogo. He predicted share price would be 75p after ex divi. 80p a week later. Still not happened.
Do not believe a word that the DPRK bot spews on this board.
Just 518.6k in buyback.
Someone was on the shopping today.
71.70 at the end of the session and 72.10 at the end of today.
That is, taking into share's price the dividend 75.40 what means thar we are practically reaching the multi-month maximum.
I think someone other than me has a similar opinion about 2nd and 9th of the May 2, and what will happen to the ITV share price after that.
Come on , now we are moving back up to 75p-80p at long last.
I just came back from my holiday...
Some trolls won't be happy.

The Hell has frozen over.
Trolls praise the Dame.
Shareholders meeting:
* financial forecast update
* interim dividend 1.7 to 2.2 pence
And today's question.
How much will be worth ITV if I was right ?
(better forecasts + interim divi announced)
As for myself we are talking about 75-78 minimum, however there will be no surprise if we see 80-90 pence in next 2 weeks.
Hi radiogent,
Very interesting to learn that.
They now do it as virtual product placement.
They did one for C4 last year tied into the First Dates series for a premium drink.
They are using AI to generate both the opportunities that are available in the program as well as all the target audience data so the advertiser can then choose which scene would be right for them & then insert the product or bill board accordingly. They are saying on average it's creating 6 to 12 opportunities per hour.
The success rate & uplift for the advertisers seems to be very significant indeed according to outsider 3rd party's like Kantar & Dynata.
Now they moving to a programmatic solution for doing it.
The recent one that amazed me as I'm not techie in any way (although it sound like it will be old hat to you) was with a minority artist singer that L'Oreal 's Mugler wanted to work with to reach a demographic's they wanted to target/reach. Mirriad spoke to the video director before the video to the song was made & asked for a couple of "windows" to be made in it (beginning & part way through) . Once complete they inserted the Mugler Billboards.
So they helped plan it from start to finish which impressed me, as to the level of there involvement.
Maybe you can contribute to the discussions on the Mirriad ticker ? MIRI

No please don’t remake them . The Dame will instruct the remakes undergo a diversity update and and the new rainbow characters displaying their differences will become more central than the fun escapist plots
Itv spending money on shows my vote goes to new thunderbirds / stingray / Batman and robin made in the 60s style, bring back professionals in a upto date style, most of the shows in the 60s / 70s could all be made into todays style and itv would have more viewers than now.can it be imagined the type of shows made in woke style.
Hi LOTM
I'm one of the very few people who have actually used Mirriard on a deal (google Karcher and Discovery from about 2010.
Coronation St have been using PP for years now (Costa Coffee and Co Op were two big ones.)
PP has simply not taken off as it has in the states (Mainly due to OFCOM restrictions of undue prominence)
Hi radiogent,
I personally had never ever heard of Mirriad until 3 weeks ago.
Originally I believe there technology was for post production stuff for the film industry. They then pivoted to virtual product placements.
I think you'll find there about to have massive traction, given over 40% of USA content providers have signed up for there offering & there in negotiations with another of the top 3 which would take them to over 55% of the USA market.
In a company post yesterday a number of those massive players are going to be featuring Mirriad in there up coming TV upfronts 2024 presentations in May, where all the big players release details of the autumn schedules, new series releases etc so watch that space.
Then think what that same technology could do for ITV & all its content & advertisers to boost the bottom line.

????
Mirriad have been around for 20 years... for some reason has never really got any traction.
Kevin Lygo is a Russian troll? Do not believe a word the man says. Pogo knows better than Kevin. ITV is not hemorraging money on productions it makes purely for UK audiences.
That extra 160 million that the Dame pledged in 2022 for ITVX productions was money well spent despite the fact that LYygo is saying returns on some productions are minimal or making a loss. The Dame could not have foreseen that the additional spend would not generate the necessary revenue.
Only the City saw ITVX increased spending and kickbacks for the studio bosses for what it was and sold ITV after the announcement. A futile gesture designed purely to line the pockets of studio bosses.
How much longer must we keep this bunch of cronies feeding shareholder money to their mates in the industry whilst failing to act on a advertising world that has vanished?
McCall out. Fresh leadership and direction. Paywalls and license fee money
