Much was said about the Capacity Market. I'm not sure that I fully understand what it is and what it's relevance is. Would someone more knowledgable help me out here.
Well the circa 3million share buy on Friday hasn’t been reversed as far as I can see, so must have been a genuine buy. Judging by the price action, I’m guessing that they haven’t finished buying so price is being held low and we’ll see another chunk go through in next few days. If that happens then they will probably go through 3% and have to do a holdings RNS.
I could be wrong but that’s why I think the SP has fallen rather than risen after the Everdura RNS which was undeniably positive. So I’m taking the opportunity to add in the hope/ belief that SP will rise imminently.
For those that don't read Twitter (X) Invinity's Matt Harper was answering questions from the Science and Technology Committee today on energy storage. It is well worth a listen as questions about the opportunities and challenges in the UK grid were dealt with. Matt was clearly the most engaging respondent and was very well-received by the committee members.
Most important for me was Matt's confirmation that the 30MWh LODES project is "expected" to enter manufacturing and construction in Q2 2024. I was becoming a little concerned about project timescales and cash flows being pushed out so this was very good to hear. Following Larry Zulch's recent comments I am confident there is still much more to come but with this project now expected next year's workload is already shaping up to be a marked increase on that seen in 2023.

When I saw the 1m trade I tried a few dummy trades. I could get a quote to buy over 100k at 41p but could only sell 10k before it want to NT.
My guess is the large trade is a mistake that will be corrected. But if it is a real trade it could well show up on a TR-1 in the next few days.
Because it cannot be a genuine trade, more like a mistake that will be corrected
Chunky! The US roadshow starting to pay off perhaps...
Please can someone cleverer than me explain why £1m+ of buys does not move the price meaningfully north?!
And they’re not UT’s so are 100% buys. The £86k is a big buy here but the £1 million is absolutely huge. Someone must know something!!!!
Something that big is normally reported after hours. Shame that could have been an interesting development
That buy must be incorrect, the figures don't make sense. Should be about 1.2 Million not 1 M
Disappointing yesterday but an interesting one today at 14.11.
Not mine! Sadly.
Interesting points there guys… be interesting to see further details from management about the specs.
Invinity receives first order for vanadium flow battery

Richard - VS3-022 was 260 kWh. I expect that the Mistral system will use full 40 foot containers and may achieve 0.75-1 MWh total energy storage per container. The energy density is not really the issue though, as these units can be double and no-doubt triple stacked if you really needed to.
Utility scale energy storage really does not need high energy density though. In fact high energy density in Lithium-ion is precisely what leads to thermal runaway, and the risk of catastrophic fire - so in fact it does not make much sense to have extremely high energy density inside the battery cells, only so that you can have large amounts of steel and fire suprression wrapped around the outside to try and limit the spread of any fire.
Richard08:
How many batteries in an " array" ?
Mark your diary folks, the first of many! 14.4MWs per Mistral Array? And the VS3 was 0.2MW. Bring it on!
And that time has come... !
Time for some great news!
You need to get on Twitter/X if you’re looking for signs of life!
…….. would be appreciated please IES!!!!!!!!
It will be very useful if they have managed to get this message across to potential investors and customers on their US and Canada tour over the last few weeks. I’m sure they have to some extent at least.
Still signposting orders for for this quarter, and probably a decent amount of them which is what happened last year too. That could (I hope) be the catalyst for a significant SP rally.
No hint of doubt that Mistral is happening next year or that it will be a game changer.
Half year results towards end of September- it’s not about the results themselves but the updates that come with them, including an updated pipeline.

Reported on Bloomberg this morning and has to be a big positive theme for Energy Storage:
Clean Energy developers are expected to install record amount of solar power in US this year as industry recovers from supply chain and trade obstacles. The solar industry is is projected to add 32 gigawatts of capacity in 2023, an amount equal to about 30 nuclear reactors, according to a report by the Solar Energy Industries Association Inc. and Wood Mackenzie LTD. The installations will be a 52% increase compared to 2022 when the solar market contracted by 13%, the report said.
Let’s jyy it at hope they’re so damn busy signing contracts that they haven’t got a moment to spare!!!!!!!
Just read the latest newsletter and there is plenty about PR, talks etc but nothing about orders. Where are they?
