The Post Office isn’t majority owned by the Bank of Ireland it is 100% owed by the U.K. Government it works with the Bank of Ireland to provide banking services and forex the combined value of which represent less than 1/3rd of its turn over.
We looking 360p to be accepted?
MaryBr, it's always a nice surprise when you discover that it's been trimmed........lol
Riflemans, the UK Government sold all of their shares in RMG/IDS so no longer have a say in who owns the business. Kwarteng also gave permission for VESA to increase their holding percentage. The top five shareholders hold over 51% of IDS so it is they who will set the sell price so I would imagine that meetings are taking place between these investment companies to ensure that they all get the best deal possible.
Perhaps VESA are planning to hold 51% by buying out the four other large shareholders?
To TheRiflemans, IsleworthSpy or anyone else that is either dense or paranoid schizophrenic……,
I’ll make this very simple…..
The government HAVE ALREADY said ‘YES’ to Kretinsky’s takeover of International Distributions Services.
Whether you ‘think’ it should happen, ‘hope’ it won’t happen, ‘plead’ for it not to happen….
The facts don’t care about your feelings, unfortunately for you.
Some profit taking inevitable this morning - expect this to bounce back later in the day. More to come for sure.

The Post Office is majority owned by the private Bank of Ireland. Most of the largest corporations in Britain are foreign owned from cars to that hideous multi faceted online retailer called Amazon. The 'government' couldn't care less as they have no say in ANYTHING, they do as they are told and follow the script put in front of them by the Globalists who actually own nearly everything required for a country to function.
A bid will be accepted, DK will own IDS, this has been blatantly obvious for so long I'm staggered there are still people who think it won't happen.
Have a goodun, games will be played until a better offer is put forward and the BoD 'reluctantly and with a heavy heart' recommend shareholders vote Yes to the final bid (possibly after the 15 May deadline gets extend once or twice to 'infer' they are actually negotiating and fighting your corner).
All the best
Of course they sold "a bird in the hand etc"
However many are in for the long haul.
Too many sellers this morning, surprised it didn't open in positive territory...
Last year the talk was institutional investors would not accept anything lesson the £4.50
I think anything above £4 now most would sell
Any profit taken is a profit Carrington.
Decided to trim off my profit here, around 25pct of my holding and keep the rest for the ride.
gla dyor etc
The Labour Party is open to the prospect of a takeover of the Royal Mail.
Two pretty obvious points are that firstly the Bid has been rejected. Secondly the Government in my opinion would never let the IDS and the Post Office fall into overseas ownership.
Probably best to take whatever premium is presently on offer.

RT003, "I see no reason to change my opening price of 305p at 8am"
As Harry Potter would say, 305p will give me a Quidditch profit on my investment.......nice..... although I despise having to give some of it to Jeremy Hunt as I gave him a small fortune last year......lol
Half million pound trade just unearthed
Unknown whether buy or sell
Don't you just love the smell of crispy shorts in the morning. I expect panic sellers this morning who did not realise what happened yesterday and plenty of speculative buyers, so should be an interesting day.
...........tides certainly turned against the Tory party overnight (if it hadn't already !) after the latest outrageous revelations.....simply the end
I see no reason to change my opening price of 305p at 8am
What a nice surprise indeed. Trimmed.
The Government already gave VESA the green light to increase their holding to 27% (& beyond?) ..............
"The government has previously scrutinised his holding in the company but accepted an increase in his stake from 22 per cent to 27 per cent in 2022"
Maximas1...... that's just silly.
£1.20 coming when kretinski dumps his stock.

IsleworthSpy’s desperation has hit hilarious and pitiful new heights….you have to laugh you really do.
The government has green lighted the takeover. That was done months ago. Do you really think VESA are stupid enough to bid for a company without the authority to do so? Are you THAT desperate? Haha.
‘But, by the same token, knowing the share price would rise. Facilitating his future selling. Just throwing it out there.’
Hahahaha! Pathetic. Keep it coming so I can beat you round the head with it a bit further down the road!
Lest we forget:
"""A deal could trigger an intervention from the British government under the terms of the National Security and Investment Act, which gives ministers a greater say over deals involving critical infrastructure.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in 2022 reviewed VESA's plans to increase its about 22% stake in the company at the time to more than 25%."""
If they got involved at 22% they most certainly will now.
It is NOT going to happen. For all the posters here know, Daniel may have submitted this bid, knowing it was doomed to failure. But, by the same token, knowing the share price would rise. Facilitating his future selling. Just throwing it out there.
