b-b £500 is fair enough for a quick punt on a high risk share, no damage done if it goes to nothing. It's these who start borrowing money, or throwing significant lumps of pension pots and savings at shares like those which worry me. I remember having a dip on 88e one time and some of the stories of what people had invested there and where they had drawn them funds from were truly frightening.
Crude is the issue. Sudeneza i wish you would stop ranting positive spins without any fundamental proof as well as looking for self gratification, makes no difference to the SP. nor does it add value. Share some facts please, I knew you would jinx it!
Suspect Ukraine has something to do with it.
Just a little dip today, i guess oil prices are to blame, nothing else..At least my BP is going up and my TLW too..I have heard of UKOG and would never invest in them, waste of money, it will be gone before you know it...How many KFC's you could have bought with £500!!! All money gone now!!Ahahah.
I would rather stick with BP.
DYOR.
Owl, I like a flutter, I bunged £500 in to UKOG on a wild dream of turning 0.1p shares into 100p as the UK government frees up all oil and gas local production due to world supplies being cut of in the next world war [coming soon]. Probability of a that happening? 1:9,999,999,999,999,999 Probability of doubling my stake? 1:9,999,999 Probability of getting £20 profit to buy a KFC bargain bucket by the end of the year? 1:9. The fun of the ride, well if I assume my £500 is a cost for entertainment which I would pay over at the box office never to see again, then I will hope that the show will be entertaining. I like the fun of potentially sitting on a fortune, despite the odds.
b_b and therein lies the difference between using shares for income, or to build wealth, and simply using them as a glorified form of gambling.
"only to see them rise to $110 or so. I felt a bit sick at the time"
I think of it like this. If I put the chips down on 3 wins in a row on a roulette table, and decided to walk away and keep the winnings, would I care what the next 3 numbers would be? Would I care whether I would win 3 more or lose 3? No, I have moved on. With shares it never what could have been, it is what it is now. Otherwise you end up committing the sins of gambling, chasing losses, lamenting lost opportunity. There are shares every single day that have huge gains. Do you feel sick you didn't invest in each one of them day by day? You are probably unaware of them at all. So it means nothing. Same attitude for a share you do know about. Win or lose, the next buy or sell is independant.
Hi Dan.
Easyjet.... (if that's the company you meant) nosedive.
That drop at around 15:10 was of 5p (0.77 percent), translate that percentage to IAG share price and you get about 1.2p I don't see any potential reason mentioned where I looked, it could just be profit taking, or many other things. Even with IAG which is well traded I've seen half that sort of drop after I have sold 25K or so shares, it's that jumpy.
As you can see, before close it was made up again and more. These are volatile times, a move of 2% to even 4 % in a day would not be unusual. Others may disagree, (I day trade on only rare occasions as though I'm so so at buying I'm completely pants as to when to sell, and you have to get both parts right to make money!) but I would consider (I tell my oldest son this too as he gets a bit twitchy at small price movements) considering what you regard as the week/month/quarter potential and checking prices less. Try to decide what you believe is a fair value for the company/stock relative to pre covid prices/latest state of company/competitors, and your investment time horizon. The risk exposure, (possibly due to borrowings, bond calls etc) and base your decisions on that. It is dangerous to get too worried, after all, a mental distraction when driving could be much more life changing. I do hope that I'm not being condescending in any way, I know that we all have to start somewhere. I was lucky, starting off in the Dot Com and internet grab, a donkey could pick shares and make money, but that was also a wild ride. For instance I once held a fair chunk of Nortel Networks, traded them from $20 to sell at $50+ then $43 to sell at $80 in just a few months, only to see them rise to $110 or so. I felt a bit sick at the time, but within a year (I think) the once biggest company on the Canadian stock market had crashed to pennies. 3Com and US Robotics was even more bonkers. So in summation, think hard, stay calm, try to plan your actions. Possibly fantasy trade keeping records of all actions and see how it goes.
Good luck to all. Please DYOR.
Great idea Johnbri4. (IAG & NWG)
One clown leaves this board (Fugassin1) and another one appears!! Stay focused and keep your eyes on the prize and buy more if you can...Don't listen to some shorters on here!! waste of time and space!! LOL.
Easy J may have dropped to clear a large dump, or it could have been high to begin with to clear a large buy. Seems to be in line with the rest of the sector now.
Anyone know why easy just nose dived?
(Again pages and pages of personal opinions. On my phone I cant even scroll past all the rubbish to relevant business discussions. I know it's on purpose, I just dont know why)
You prove the point by attacking someone when they weren't talking to you but somebody else.
If a new society is created around you and people choose not to join it lemming-like, that is not being ostracised, it's remaining free while others sign up for enslavement.
BTW, China does NOT require yellow fever vaccine unless you are arriving from a yellow fever zone or have stopped over in one in the last 10 days - source: WHO.
I've replied to you as you've attacked, but don't reply to my posts ever again as they are not for you. Filter me now.

Whilst good news, why are they waiting for their own results before moving forward? This info has been known since end of November with the SA data.
Honest, nobody's singling out the unvaccinated. Honest. lol.

"Being jab free incurs judgement from most before one says anything."
Otherwise known as having a chip on your shoulder. You actually WANT attention. A since a few government have sought to limit the spread [a useless activity] by shutting out people without a vaccination it has become a cause celeb for all those who crave attention but are so small and unimportant can not get the attention anywhere else. SO you wave your flag as vigorously as possible. You then start making weird false statements to get a reaction. Still nothing. So you go marching, you go rioting. Now you have attention. But it is negative, oh and therefore it comes full circle to justify your cause.
You are being ostracised because because your protests are violent and abusive which are to do with you not being vaccinated.
Where were you lot pre covid marching the street, waving your banners, precovid, when China refused entry to anybody with the correct Yellow fever certificate????
You're mostly just attention seekers that follow the televisions around from one cause celeb to another. Same faces, just a different slogan.
One for the factors pushing the Delta share price up in their earnings report was the expected future rise in Transatlantic travel in spring / summer. Seems to have been missed
Spar.
I am too, that's why I'm in IAG for the majority of my stocks and shares at the moment. Though this possibly higher risk option may not suit all.
Good luck to all. DYOR.
Jotom your post already has the answer to why i have invested in IAG ,
Long story short i am expecting IAG to catch the banks, good luck to you

5 year performance.

Now PPI and corruption fines are out of the way and with inflation at 5% there is potential, dividends will also grow and many banks are cash rich). If a housing price retracement occurs, and more challenger banks enter the space those are downers.
Good luck to all. DYOR.

Last year performance banks up 50% plus IAG up 3%
Where they go next as with all shares is uncertain. I made no inference as to company price manipulation, my focus was more toward some people here who no matter what post F.U.D they clearly have their own agenda, as to spend so much time doing it otherwise seems mad.
Jotom if you think we can manipulate £9b worth of company through LSE board, bunch of small investors ... that's not gonna happen
Frankly speaking for the banks historic high levels wont dare to touch neither trade them
How is it being dragged if all restrictions are lifted on Jan 26? And the pattern would repeat worldwide as we’ve seen
The share price reflects the future value of the company
