I would never travel with RyanAir but after two bad trips in the last month to amsterdam will probably switch to KLM now.
Update - flight back was delayed this morning as they overbooked and couldn’t get everyone boarded in time. BA we’re then offering everyone 250 euros to leave the 750am flight and take the 3pm flight. They seem to be completely short staffed more than anything so every part of the service from check in to boarding is shockingly bad. The only way is up I suppose but how many customers are they going to lose in be meantime
Went to amsterdam today for a 1 hour meeting flying home at 9pm. Notified with 3 hours notice the flight home was cancelled. Now BA will have to pay for my Hotel room, taxis and meal. Complete incompetence…here’s the email
Unfortunately we’ve experienced some technical issues at Heathrow Terminal 5 this afternoon.
Regrettably we’ve had to take the difficult decision to cancel some of our short-haul flights today, which will sadly affect your departure this evening. We will always endeavour to select the flights which we can see will impact the fewest people possible or choose routes where we have options to offer our customers access to another flight within 24 hours.
If you log in to the ‘Manage My Booking’ section on our website www.ba.com with your booking reference you will be able to see and view flight options. You can either accept the replacement flight we’ve suggested for you or review alternatives which might be more suitable. Your new flight details will appear under the same booking reference, but please be aware there may be a short delay in updating the website and the app after you have selected your new flight. If you have a connecting flight as part of the same ticket, we will automatically rebook your onward journey and you should also be able to view that in the same section of our website.
We know a cancellation could mean you do not have overnight accommodation and if you would like to book this yourself for ease, we can guarantee we will cover it to make sure you’re not out of pocket. British Airways will cover hotel rooms up to £200 (based on two people sharing) without question and reasonable costs for food / drink, local transport costs and calls / internet access. Don’t forget to keep all your receipts.
To raise an expense claim, please submit your receipts at ba.com/helpme, and we will try and settle these at the earliest opportunity through our customer engagement centres.
We realise this is not the service you expect from British Airways, and we hope to restore your faith in us in the future.

Oil could hit $200 a barrel, says Rystad Energy

OSLO, March 8 (Reuters) - Global oil prices could rise to $200 a barrel if Europe and the United States ban imports of Russian oil, analysts at Oslo-based consultancy Rystad Energy said on Tuesday.
Oil prices jumped on Monday to their highest since 2008 on fears of a Western ban on Russian oil imports while a return of Iranian crude to the market remains far from certain.

Ed1 - I agree
And after Bidens incendiary 'war criminal' comment does anyone think a ceasefire will happen? Putin will go all out now as he really cant afford a ceasefire or to lose. He has to set the terms with a victory.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, the first high-level talks between the two countries since Moscow launch an unprovoked invasion of its neighbor last month, failed to make progress on a cease-fire.
Kuleba said after the meeting in the Turkish resort city of Antalya on March 10, 15 days into the war, that Lavrov did not commit to ensuring a humanitarian corridor in the besieged city of Mariupol.
He added that Ukraine was ready to continue to engage with Russia on finding a path to stop the war.
For his part, Lavrov said Russia was also willing to continue talks, noting that there had been some progress in three rounds of discussions between Kyiv and Moscow at the border with Belarus.
Lavrov said Moscow has presented Ukraine with its proposals on how to end the conflict and expects a reply. Kuleba characterized Russia's demands as nothing short of a full surrender.

Other sign of the coin - no progress made:

LONDON, March 18 (Reuters) - The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Friday urged consumers to travel less, share transport and drive more slowly, part of a 10-point plan to cut oil use as Russia's invasion of Ukraine deepens concerns about supply.
The plan by the Paris-based grouping of 31 industrialized countries - which does not include Russia - underlines the urgency of a supply crunch brought on by sanctions and buyer aversion to Russian oil, which has raised fuel prices.

The recommendations - which include lower speed limits, working from home, car-free days in cities, cheaper public transport and more carpooling - could cut oil demand by 2.7 million barrels a day within four months, the IEA said.
As the bulk of oil demand comes from transport, it said, the plan focuses on "how to use less oil getting people and goods from A to B", drawing on "concrete measures" that have already been used in multiple countries and cities.

Seems to be a problem that’s going to get worse?:
Oil prices could jump to an all-time high of $200 per barrel by the end of this year, as oil producers ranging from African members of OPEC+ to the U.S. shale patch will struggle to replace the Russian crude that is going off the market, popular hedge-fund manager Pierre Andurand told the latest episode of Bloomberg’s Odd Lots podcast.
Andurand, CIO at Andurand Capital, believes that around 4 million barrels per day (bpd) of Russian oil supply is already out of trade on the market after the financial sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine and after many Western majors and traders refuse to deal with Russia’s oil.
Even if Russia and Ukraine reach a ceasefire right now, Russian oil will not return, said Andurand.
