Thanks Mulder - has anyone worked out what $5b would equate to in share price?
Anyone else picked up on Blackstone interest probably
Homeserve pride themselves on fixing leaks - quick call them out somebody!!
9% increase?
Seems that perhaps TO news is imminent. Any thoughts??
Interesting, although any bidder will have a limited timeframe to make an offer now. There are less than 2 weeks before the management in HSV discloses their intention to accept Brookfield's offer

Does anyone understand the numerous RNS's of the past few days, including today's?
Aless.if a company is taken private the acquirer usually buys all the shares from holders at the agreed takeover price - they are acquired by a scheme that does not require consent once a certain level of acceptances are reached.
What happens to our shares if the company is taken private, I understand we can no longer sell the shares on the main market but it should be possible OTC (even inside an ISA?). I am not familiar with this, does anyone know more?
FROM THE RNS TODAY
The Board has decided to enter into discussions with Brookfield in relation to a potential offer for the Company.
Great - 1200p plus at least.
An extension to the deadline would be announced, wouldn't it?
Expecting an extension on the deadline. My portfolio has been a magnet for TOs in the last 6 months, this is the fifth and all but one has extended.
Did - back in today
Brookfield is taking is sweet time to announce the intent to put an offer in or walk away. Considering the 2 bank holidays, there are only 5 days left until the 21st. I think they want to see where the share price stabilise a consider that as a fair market price
Maths, it passed £9 a few moments ago - tempted to sell?
£12 was prior to it selling the book of run off polices to Piedmont and the market took a very dim view of that.
I'd be happy at £9 + but wouldn't want anyone to be disappointed.
I can see this creeping up to £9 today on speculation that a bid will arrive, at £11 ish and the founder will take the cash and retire - we shall see.
I think this is going to be very interesting over the next few days/weeks
Private Equity firm interested. Think this will be the lay of the land next few years. Buying stocks/companies on the cheap.
Considering this was trading well above 1200p this time last year and around 1000p as recently as December offer needs to be in the 1100p ballpark.
The recent drop to 600p was a 5 year low.
There we go - thats the reason! Wonder what price will be offered
No clue at all I searched all morning but found nothing
Any ideas why such a big rise today?
