Note directors buys (presumably exercising options) ...these are at a 30p premium to the current share price. I would expect that a motivated team would be making some efforts to do something about that. Or is there a bigger plan which I don't understand?
Interesting article in press by a midlands based newspaper interviewing Jonanthan King at HSV puts a good posiitve spin on the last 2 years trading look it up I think the paper was the Express and Star
This is a good solid share that needs time to recover. read some interesting articles recently that demonstrates the clear out and revamp is in place. One for early next year
of course I would say this...just been looking at the directors dealings listed on the site...but oer the period coered on here and some very brief calcs looks like there have been purchases totalling 1.3m shares by directors at a mean of 191p and sales totalling 580,000 (I am not counting the one sale of 16m shares ) at a mean of 246p, this does not include all the options granted to directors...which leads me to the conclusion that the board are gradually acquiring stock rather than lessening the load. and yet the performance is all over the place. If the board hang on to stock so do I. Holding...holding ......holding....oh come on HSV do something. PS who are Espitio Santo Investments?? putting a sell out on HSV
is happening ??
Well it seemed to be holding up there , I am sure there was a broker sell notice reiterated yesterday , but nothing new - I have seen nothing on the on going investigation either which might trigger this either. I'm holding firm , got to believe in something!!
Not quite sure why this went down today - sell on news maybe after a decent rise. RNS had no surprises - UK market still sagging, but good growth elsewhere (including US and France). Woodford holds this stock and happy to agree with him on this one. The value is in the foreign growth prospects, not the UK.
Keeps rising....market knows something...
You're right I don't know what goes behind the scenes but I think we will be okay sp wise at the end of this financial year. I expect the sp to remain around the level and a possible drop for a few days/weeks when the fca thing concludes followed by a rise all the way to the end of the financial year. Regarding the change I mentioned - it more to do with operational and tactical changes. For any strategic or long termddirection of the company I can't comment on that as I don't know. I believe that the changes I mentioned will produce more profit, customers and policies. I believe we will hit set targets and that will reflect the sp. Gl
I have a strong feeling this is not the end of the t/o buyout saga. We are all mostly happy with the recent upward movement.....but....the market is not often taken by surprise especially when rumours of a major event are on going. You may work for the company and that you rate them highly enough to invest is good. However how well do you know them? Are you sure they wouldn't take the company into private equity , especially as you say they are performing well and ready to start selling again , surely this is the time to be buying or holding....or in the case of a private equity bidder the time to buy. Lets face it some of the best run and most profitable companies are privately owned , and this is because the most profit is to be made when you do not need to answer to the pesky shareholders or be held to high accounting standards by an exchange authority... And as for the old guard being replaced....the CEO has never changed from day one.
I work for homeserve and like you bought most my shares through an employee share save scheme. I should all mine few weeks ago at 283 and bought back in at 273 in time for the dividends. As you saw from the annual statement we have put aside £6m forum any potential fine and hopefully the fca saga will end very soon. The old management guard are out and the new one have implemented very good changes and we should start selling properly once the fca thing has concluded. We are doing very well internationally and I am very confident that we will reach between £3.50 and 4.50 by the end of the year. I think the sp for now will be around 265-290 until the fca investigation concludes and any fine will see the sp drop to around 220 before starting to rise again towards the £4.00 mark next year Gl
I dearly hope you're right in your predictions. I got on board this share at near enough the very bottom of its dip last year (by nature i'm a long term holder rather than a trader) so I'm already inordinately happy with how its been progressing. a break to the high 300's would be most welcome. As ever, GLA.
Wrong board.... Apologise again..lol
All on your own here - must be lonely so thought I'll join you. I bought almost £31K today @ £2.73in time for for ex-dividend. Don't beleive a word about any t/o. This is a well run company now with good expansion strategy whilst going back to basis in the UK operation. They have put past dealings behind them and money aside for any possible fca fines. I think the sp will be yoyoing around the 270 -290 mark. We should see prices of high 300s to 400 near the full year interim annual report GL mate
SO where are we with this? Rumours of a buy up/out , price rises and holds firm...then a down grade to a hold from J P Morgan, are they trying to push down the price so it can be purchased more cheaply? I'm holding on , gotta go for a premium to take this cash cow off the exchange.
So the market hasn't discounted the private equity buy then judging by the price holding up...so anyone have an opinion ?
So would this be a complete sell out by the current management or be led by the management...CEO Harpin still owns a large chunk of stock....MBO because its a cash cow? Don't be selling out too soon!! There could be more than this, what do you reckon 25% premium oer market price?
There is speculation private equity is about to make a bid for Homeserve That is why the price is swinging around wildy.
Jarcon, in reply to your question, i honestly have no idea what the driver is. Ive research this share for about 10mins in total (reading the odd RNS), all i know is you can make decent cash by trading the technical's (chart & level 2). My strategy is making a little money each day, which has its positive and negative points, reason being i dont like playing second fiddle to the politicians and media. However, stick to what your best at, if you believe there is good value here, ignore the wild swings and wait for the value to shine through. Good luck, all the best
maybe.... but what's the underlying driver here? its gone +/- circa 20% per day in both directions. yesterdays rise was (I thought) the long awaited break to the £3 mark, then it dropped to 250ish....
Up and Doon like a Whoooores Draws
Nice to see such a steep rise - anyone know why? Could it be the Chatanooga choochoo? http://timesfreepress.com/news/2013/jun/05/hiring-homeserve-to-add-100-jobs-at-local-office/ 30% growth per annum sounds good.
Honestly this goes on , as a shareholder and a tax payer I am pretty disappointed in the investigation process - what are they trying to prove? I mean they have made a provision which suggests HSV will take the punishment and get on with business so why not get on and report the decision?? Makes me sooo angry. But in other news they expanding the US operation witha recruitment drive of a further 100 in the Chattanooga call centre , what does that suggest? Good US business = money = profit = dividend = share price increase. AT least this is how my simple mind works.
So, a £6 million provision for fines and costs, but investigation still expected to take months longer....... I'm glad they've provided for it at last, and certainly hope £6 million is enough, but surely just the investigation costs here must be spiralling considering how long its taking. As ever, GLA.
are these just gonna keep goin. sold at 2.15 the other days . in some pain at the mo
