LSE03 thanks for this. When I first saw the subject I thought it was an error. I find it interesting that an online and a in person event is being put on. Hopefully they will have something interesting to say and it is not just jam tomorrow. I note that the in person event is not at the registered office.
LSE03,lol !!:), Ben Wallace away ATM but that doesn't say we may get news finally !!, stokey about time hey!!, JW better pull a rabbit out of the hat or he's destined for the pot !:):)
Best to get your questions submitted early for the IMC as they will need a bit of time to vet them. lol
As Stokey said on Monday, "they do not appreciate shareholders saying anything [other] than how wonderful the progress is."
My question for the meeting 'We are frequently told at investor meetings and in update RNSs that significant contracts are likely in a few weeks. While I accept that events are not totally in your control. Would you agree these continual jam tomorrow announcements erodes confidence in the company's ability to actually conclude contracts.'

I think they are in a no-win situation in trying to be seen to be optimistic and having reasonable confidence and hope against being seen as overly cautionary and lacking belief in their own abilities.....if they don't show some hope and expectation then who will?
...They have used statements like "weeks and months"...I suspect they add weeks to keep the private investors on a more acceptable tone and months for everyone else who may well be more content with the reality of the timescale these things take , something which private investors are less patient about due to SP fluctuations
Personally I think there really are challenging factors out there at present ...you can read it in the updates from big boys like Wood and Petrofac within their project areas ...everyone with big tender backlogs waiting for decisions to be made and decisions being paused and delayed or even cancelled..... some just delayed over sorting out financing which is another issue at present
It aint easy !!
Pokerchips ref 12.37 post I do not dispute what you say b
My 13.37 post should read I do not dispute what you say but the continual missed deadline for when contracts will be concluded does not inspire confidence. Matters are not helped when no information is then given about the reason for the delay. They could at least say that negotiations are ongoing but are taking longer than anticipated due to whatever the reason.
Spending revise next week and tax cuts maybe those contracts are signed off and in Wallace's hands to dish out here's hoping imho

with respect.....I think we are moving into the realms of needing/expecting to be spoon fed ... as a result of algorithm trading and increased market participants...all this talk of continued social media photos and regular updates to say negotiations are ongoing...I suspect investor relations certainly has taken on a new meaning in recent years...
I guess that is why all these blogs and media outlets have sprung up and created a paywall business to feed us all what we crave to find out... and no doubt confuse of all of what might or might not be going on ..
I suspect the analysts and the institutional investors make it their duty to pretty much understand what is going on and agree to ask only during arranged analyst conference calls
You are never going to have a situation where you decide to buy shares from a seller and then be able to just sit back and expect the BOD to spoon feed everything ....as you know..from the respected hard work you do yourself ...
the daily volumes are at times tiny ....could even be private investors themselves who are doing the damage.... and churn from bottom seeking speculators who quickly throw the towel in
Pokerchips ref 14.08 post The problem is perhaps in part caused by HARL not doing what it promises. For example last year we were promised quarterly trading updates. we had one in March and one in June. There was then a business update in September not sure if that is the same thing. There was no update but we did have a general meeting the notice of which probably covered everything that would have been in the trading update. We had a trading update I am not sure if this was planned as it came out mid morning and not at 7am.
Also last year we were promised a newsletter which came out once. This would have been useful for shareholders who are not on social media. I am not sure if HARL has a stakeholder engagement policy but it does need one.
I've noticed that the one main issue that comes up more than any other, across all message boards and all shares, is missed deadlines, delays in contracts and broken promises. Which were probably well meaning when stated.
Well, most of the time. ;)
Seems to be the main topic of conversation when things drift down on no news, so you kind of get used to it being the norm. Yeah, okay, it's been one hell of a drift and news void of late. So..... not much else to talk about, I guess.
Without news we only have speculation.
IMHO, being a bottom seeking speculator, ATM. :)
