Sack the CEO, the buck stops there !!
I have much larger holdings of big companies in my portfolio. PepsiCo is 12% legal and general 10% rio tinto 10% realty income 9% . Quite comfortable with this . The more risky high growth potential stuff is all 3% or so.
Quiye
One company should only make ~3% of a portfolio, so why do people get so aggrieved?
Well that's a lot of bollards. What if your portfolio only totals £10,000 or less as I'm sure many do? And if you have a large portfolio, having 30+ holdings risks being a tracker unless you know what you are doing, and many don't. GSK makes up 4% of mine give or take, but LGEN makes up 7% and LLOY 6%, (though that is temporary). I am a buy and holder and hate selling. At least GSK pays a div, though the board really needs their ****s kicked. Where has Eliot gone?
"One company should only make ~3% of a portfolio, so why do people get so aggrieved?"
Thought Buffet recommended opposite - few firms but go in big and stay with it!
It's in good value territory.
Based on the discounted dividend model above, over the next 12 months:
https://www.ukdividendstocks.com/blog/is-gsk-a-good-choice-for-dividend-investors
"I would be happy to buy GSK if its share price moved significantly closer to £9
I would sell GSK if its share price moved significantly closer £17
If I already owned GSK, I would be happy to hold at its current price of £13.80 "
13:80 is not bad, if it falls top up.
As Buffet says, when "When I buy, I hope it goes down so I can buy more!"
One company should only make ~3% of a portfolio, so why do people get so aggrieved?

She is CEO. Ultimately the buck stops with her. You may have a crush on 'Emma', I don't

Bet they up the div next time round.
I bought back in at 13.20 today. I have made good money in the past from GSK and I hope this time as well.
Hi Denby, I’ve been adding bought yesterday so missed todays nice drop but will see if I can offload something to buy more on Monday. 3.5 mil sale 8.5 bought so it cannot be the end of the world. The hiv and shingles drugs should make more cash besides other vaccines that they have . Keep well . :-).
The (man-made?) volatility helps to create a market in dull UK stocks, otherwise, GSK would be stagnant. Sold some LGEN bought under the Truss fall for GSK at the end of the day. Defiantly a pattern for those who buy low, wait, sell high and repeat.
NervousNelly LOL Bring it on 1300>
Haven't owned any GSK for a long time but I've been watching with interest for a while now. Today I bought back in - I think they've been well oversold. It may fall further but hopefully there's many other investors like me about ready to jump in again.
to clarify.
that was boll oc ks and ar seh oles
Well, it's nice to see a broker give a reason for a downgrade, even if that reason it total ******.
Income stream annihilation in 2027. Wow. Maybe some of those streams will tail off, but they seem to have forgotten the new drugs coming to market. Isn't that the very nature of pharmaceuticals. But they have got the response they wanted for their clients. Now they can all buy back what they sold 10% cheaper.
There'll be a special place in hell for these ********s.
Been waiting for an opportunity to buy in here - just done so at 1315. It may fall some more yet (nobody gets the bottom except by luck) but it's close enough to the year low now to start building my stake. GLA
mary would like 1280 :-)
£1+ cheaper than were I exited - once more unto the breach dear friends
This stock is a dog, and losing patience here as well. Having said that just ought some more !!! It's low so will trade this tranch as it's up and down like a wh*res pair of drawers.
hello mate hows you just started to buy in again still have the bonds but did not like the RNS this morning lol
Another 8.5% down combined GSK / Haleon shares today. Possibly the worst company separation in history.
More buys than sells so far on drop in sp still a lot of confidence out there.:-).
I do agree this is not all down to Emma but as the head of the company the buck does stop with her.
Shareholders have not deliberately been miss sold but Emma and the board have failed in the delivery of there strategy and the shareholders have lost a huge amount of value.
There is certainly no quick turn around for GSK so we have to just sit it out for 3-5 or take a huge loss and try to make it back elsewhere.
I have never been one to jump on the ‘get Emma out bandwagon’ but the share isn’t going to drop if she were to step down / be removed so I am now thinking it maybe is time for a change. Someone needs to deliver what is constantly promised to shareholders and there is little signs of this happening under the current regime.
