Why hasn't the q4 dividend be announced? A bit late.
Energy is selling off, recession incoming!
Buybacks, increase in q4 div, going as cheap as chips!
UWK just bought back 200k shares, and lots of 15-20k buys on the live trades. This is the ..786 pullback from the October lows and VERY oversold on RSI. Nice div coming up this month and 10p next year apparently. Just topped up a little, but Bond ETFs and dropping dates offers a lot more potential capital gains.
If we see 131p I'll top up some more.
Yes unless inflation and interest rates tick up again, then this will drop. . This is only yielding ~4% and UK inflation is 4%, you're not making any money.
If you want to preserve your capital and you think rates might rise over the next few years, put it in an ISA. If you think rates will come down, better here for me.
Yes BATS is down against FTSE 100. but it looks like it's got a better relative value?

Yes VGOV has a yeild. If you use trading view you'll see the "D" on the chart.
BATS/VGOV:

This is what I mean. If rates drop VGOV will shoot up, as it's a bond ETF. I expect a pullback though and I'm using a MACD.
At the close there was a massive amount of "grey" trades.
The fundamentals now read:
# of Trades 16,667
Vol Sold 1,401,776
Vol Bought 10,100,852
This morning there was only 1mil purchased.... Looking good!
Well, nothing it going to change overnight, people have been smoking in Europe for 500 years. The NZ ban just failed, I have no idea how they'd enforce it in the UK. Plus look at immigration, over 1% of total UK population last year, incredible!
A lot of them will smoke. There is a lot of fear, and buy when other's are fearful I guess.
BATS, even with dividends is pretty much under performing everything currently, and has been doing so for a long time.
EVEN CASH!
The VWAP even from JAN 2019 low is £29.21!!
If you adjust for dividends, it's £24.30.
Even with dividends, in real, inflation adjusted terms the current share price represents an average loss per share of 30% from the average price purchased!
Not only that, it's gone sell on the weekly MACD, it's sell on monthly and daily.
It's even underperforming bond etfs, which have had their worst returns on record.
Clearly institutional support is being reduced.
I unfortunately have a far amount of BATS in my portfolio, because I fell for the dividend and am down about 15% including dividends. Now I ask myself, sell now and buy bond ETFs on their ex div drop tomorrow, or hold? I think the former.
