This should not have a negative impact on the SP in any way. GSK had the same results in the 2nd year. This was all about being first to Market which GSK was. People don’t like changing medication once something works for them. It’s then all about building on this by gaining approval for younger ages which GSK is also well ahead of the competition on.
I cannot believe GSK is sitting at this miserable price of a little over £13.80. I fully expected the share to rise towards or above £16 after the results readout (which were fantastic by the way). Yet since then they have dropped approx 7%. Before the quarterly results the share was still on an upward trend yet now they are below YTD and only half a percent higher than a year ago.
Settled court cases, quarter on quarter excellent results, great pipeline, blockbuster launches and increased forecast seem to make no difference.
I’m not sure if it is poor leadership or market bias against GSK but something is not adding up.
After 15 years in this share, the lowered dividend without any likelihood of this increasing means I will probably move on if we get above £15.
Today’s S P drop is probably the biggest surprise on the market. Positive news on new reg approval seemed to have the opposite effect for GSK today!!
Not sure why the market has reacted in this way given there has been no negative news come to light.
Markets slowly chipping away at the increase from last week already despite all the good headlines. This share price never ceases to amaze me. Multiple approvals this week and it still ends in the red. Lost for words
I am completely and utterly at a loss as to how GSK can gain approval for a first to market vaccine and it not have any impact on the share price. In fact since the news broke globally the share price has gone down.
This is huge news and a massive success…….No?
How can absolutely no news what so ever have this kind of impact on the SP. Nothing new here. The court case going ahead was published over a month ago and there is still no new scientific evidence supporting any of the claims. This is turning into a circus.
And again!!! Dow up +1% FTSE 100 up 1%. Two positive pieces of pipeline news today yet we are in the red again despite an abysmal red day yesterday!!!!!
This must be the most undervalued share in the FTSE100 and showing no sign of a recovery despite multiple positive updates. I’m at a complete loss as too why??
I do agree this is not all down to Emma but as the head of the company the buck does stop with her.
Shareholders have not deliberately been miss sold but Emma and the board have failed in the delivery of there strategy and the shareholders have lost a huge amount of value.
There is certainly no quick turn around for GSK so we have to just sit it out for 3-5 or take a huge loss and try to make it back elsewhere.
I have never been one to jump on the ‘get Emma out bandwagon’ but the share isn’t going to drop if she were to step down / be removed so I am now thinking it maybe is time for a change. Someone needs to deliver what is constantly promised to shareholders and there is little signs of this happening under the current regime.
