Chapeaux Good Energy!!

Dividend and scrip dividend timetable
The Board of Good Energy Group PLC is pleased to re-start the dividend and announce an interim dividend of 0.75p per ordinary share for the period to 30 June 2021, as set out in the Company's interim results released on 14 September 2021. The dividend is payable on 29 November 2021 to shareholders whose names are on the register at close of business on 22 October 2021. The shares will trade ex-dividend from 21 October 2021.
The Directors have decided to continue to offer shareholders the opportunity to receive dividends in the form of new shares in the Company as an alternative to a cash dividend payment.
Great news. Helps justify our decisions to reject the T/O, and should kick-start the climb for the SP to exceed the T/O offer price. Onwards and upwards, as they say.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think Ecotricity attempted a hostile takeover of Good Energy in the past with a similar outcome. After that failed it seems like they held onto their Good Energy holding. If they follow that pattern then I'd expect Ecotricity to hold, and maybe try to rock the boat again in a couple of years' time.
Does it seem likely that Ecotricity will start to offload their stake in Good as the hostile takeover has lapsed? Thanks
Muddyfox.
I can’t answer for anybody else but I don’t know the answer to your question. Maybe they have been trying to buy but nobody selling?
Maybe there selling to lower the sp?
Have no chums on here it’s an anonymous social media forum. Usually post my frustrations before a tough work day ahead. Never personal though.
Best of luck.
Plenty of mud about for you atm.

Is there something about this forum that I am not aware of? My last Question on Good must have been the 10th question I have asked but as with the previous 9 no answers ever get posted. I can see that it is a bit of a chums club at times but surely common decency would prompt an interesting reply or few from some participants?
A question for the Forum experts. Given that a week or so ago the SP of Good was circa 2.90 why weren't Ecotricity mopping them up?
Yet someone is clearly filling his boot… judging by the rise. I tried to get an offer, to check what price it’s going for, and could not get an offer!
So it looks like they have approx 28% with only a few days left to get what over 50% for the £4.00 offer.
My guess is that if they don't get the 50% they need and it doesn't at this stage look like they will as the management are still NOT recommending the offer the offer will fail and sp will fall back to what about £2.50. Some gambel to buy these now.
By the institutional investors.
Or the board??
Company will never makes a profit again only to service murky loan company’s operating off the HMRC radar.
Shame.
Jed.
Somebody may be selling to keep the sp down.
May be enough to panic small shareholders into selling out to Ecotricity.
Will it work??
Cannot understand why anyone is selling, they have just re-confirmed the offer of 400p. Think we should all be buying as much as we can at £2.95 ish
But is there still an offer on the table for 400p? Surely not!
This is just a pannic sell due to Johnson telling the country small energy companies are going to the ground.
If this one does fail then humans will have failed to protect themselves, as this was primarily set up to invest in renewable energy.
It will survive, but to hazard a guess when to buy in again is a tough question. I am hoping it doesn't go below £2 as it took years to get there.
GLA
What has happened here? Has the offer failed or been withdrawn? Sorry if the answer is obvious! Thanks
many of the smaller suppliers outsource hedging to big companies - so Good Energy uses Shell. Ecotricity have been after Good for years, Juliet cant stand Dale....thats the basis for the knock back historically, I assume she and friends owns a wedge of stock still...as well as being non exec
So, accept GBP 4.00 for each Good Energy share or lapse the offer and retain the stock? That is the question...
Someone’s selling and seems determined to drive down the price.
Tedmak.
If we could see where the money is coming from may give us an idea!!
This offer for Good Energy.
With all of the upheaval, Ecotricity must be very confident of what the hedging startegy for GE actually is.
I wonder why? They could quite easily grow the business just picking up the customers of other businesses that fail.
Think they may need to up the offer again!! however they only need 25% more for takeover which is £17m invested. Seems cheap I’d say they’d pay more!!
Hmm….they found more money down the back of the sofa! That’s not a small increase in the offer. That said, I did say I was leaving some in for the longer term, and I don’t have any immediate plans to change that.
GLA…..wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more acceptances at this level…but not sure there will be enough. All IMO.
Impressive performance on Tuesday. Revised 400p offer today. Still not enough to persuade me to sell.
How can Ecotricity with their losses and going concerns statement that casts doubt on the business make a credible offer for the business? I first thought it should be the other way round but looking at Ecotricity's accounts don't think that they are worth more than a £1 and they support a football team (crazy business). Having said that, I think that to survive in the new energy market you need £100's of millions - so the big 6 and the Oil majors (Shell & BP) will dominate for sometime to come, they are the only ones making a profit.
No idea why Ecotricity wasted time irritating Shareholders.
Also things like the PE ration being broadcast as -810 is a lie to investors. Once the divi is reinstated after COVID is no longer a perceived threat there will be more companies like Yorshire Council looking to grab a bargain.
Finally with the leaves shrivelling in the trees with the hot weather, we are guaranteed more investors to back a renewable energy company - even if to save their own skins.
