My penny’s worth Cuddy.
After Good sold the generation biz they announced a new direction and would develop Zap Map.
Not much has gone on since, a few ZM updates nothing new to replace the generation income.
I’m thinking the market too is waiting for this news and I’m sure this is in the pipeline but these things take a while to realise.
A bit becalmed for now but for how long??

I don't understand why this share isn't getting more attention at this low valuation. Any ideas NotBot?
I didn't realise the extent of their history - no wonder it was deemed a hostile takeover attempt in 2021. Ecotricity seem set on acquiring Good Energy, and I have to admit if they provide an offer near to their previous 400p offer, then I will certainly be voting in favour of the takeover.
Whilst the 2021 hostile takeover offer is fairly fresh in my mind, I got to wondering about the prior event. Looks like it was an attempt by Ecotricity to muscle in on the board rather than a full takeover, esp. see the RNS on 10th July 2017 "Requisition by Ecotricity of General Meeting", and/or checkout this article,
https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/business/power-struggle-green-energy-tycoons-300394
(or search for its' title "Ecotricity acquires major stake in rival supplier Good Energy" if LSE suppresses that link)
also the RNS of 14th August 2017 with the board's recommendations to vote against Ecotricity's proposals,
https://group.goodenergy.co.uk/reporting-and-news-centre/regulatory-news/regulatory-news-details/2017/Notice-of-General-Meeting/default.aspx
Having held this share in the past I was surprised to rediscover it recently at a relatively low price so bought in. Meanwhile it seems to have some unique advantages - a clever position with Zap Map (although I don't really understand that market), and in particular a unique position in (and experience to provide) home generation with the new Feed-in tariff. Those both seem excellent. Whilst I regard Ecotricity as something of a wrecking-ball in terms of having now twice provided a major management distraction with hostile takeover offers, it nevertheless also provides a floor to the share price with the perception that they're likely still hovering, as speculated in this thread.
Whilst I'd hope to see GOOD thrive on its own, if it does get taken out by Ecotricity that would at least provide a good return on the current share price.
Very happy to see a change in trend. Let’s see where it takes us.

I'd agree - I recon they accumulated a few yesterday. I think they are looking to reach the 30% threshold in the first half of the year so will be actively buying. Hopefully should see an uptick soon!!
That leaves them 311000 short of 30%
Not too far from a hostile takeover.
Would take an age to accumulate now on the market. That sort of buying pressure would send the price flying so they would need to get a bid out…..or wait for the inevitable!!
A good hold I’d say?
A
No they have recently increased their stake in the company to 28.17%. I imagine the three big purchases today were Ecotricity adding to their position
Cuddy.
I was thinking Ecotricity were after the generation. Now sold!!??

The last few months have been tough however I think Good Energy plc is at a turning point. It is undervalued and full year results are due at the end of March. We should see an increase in share price leading into them, in anticipation of an increase in profit led by a decrease in wholesale gas and electricity prices. It seems that Ecotricity have returned again, wouldn't be surprised to see an RNS in the morning announcing an increase in holding. It is inevitable that they will put in another offer, and I would bet my house on it being far above the current m/c. Looking forward to the next few months!
All clean energy with biogas being produced globally and gas being offset by carbon emissions projects.
Gone ex div today.
I think Keir Starmer broadcasting he will buy up the five big energy companies is not going to affect GOOD terribly.
We sold off much of our generation so like the govt energy firm, we would just be buying energy at wholesale prices.
If Labour get elected it will be an interesting soap watching small private companies competing to sell energy with the Govt.
Yesterday 3/4p script divi and
Good Energy Group plc investment Zap-Map, the UK's leading chargepoint mapping service, and automotive manufacturer Nissan have announced a partnership today in which purchasers of Nissan's Electric vehicles will be provided with a Zap-Map Premium subscription that includes in-car support via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
They have a fair way to go at this rate. Volumes have been a trickle.
Ecotricity will be hoovering up as much as possible around 245p. Could be interesting if they bite off enough to force a buy out. As of July 22 they have a 27.2% stake.
UPshunt yes I’m happy I held after the family silver was sold off.
Still not entirely sure why I did hold!!!
Seems to have a life of its own GOOD. Somebody somewhere is accumulating slowly!!

5p a day is plenty Good enough.
Investors catching up on their targets, we just about make the cut.
Well I waited a month to drop a line.
You'd think with the accelerated icecap melt everyone would want to sign up for renewable energy sourced by an ethical group, even if it is to tell your children; ' well we did our best we bought up Good Energy's clean electric. Sorry about the state of the planet but it isn't our fault'.
I wonder if that useless BOD see this and remind themselves how stupid they were selling up the renewable assets. Now on their website they just have a couple of pics with solar on top of some residential and small scale industrial roofing units. Now we are in a drought, I bet all those pictures of water turbines will have to be taken down as half the streams have dried up. Anyone want to start an environmental energy company?
At least this BB has some text on it. ADFN can't be bothered it is all so dismal.
ECO will be trying to grab a slice at bargain prices. Still feeling gloomy with the board decision not to build more solar and wind projects. The Ecotricity model means they can afford to keep planning for new projects while we persevere with supplying energy and making EV charging simpler for users. Is there anyone on here with an EV benefiting from Zapflash, which was announced last year in April?
After the magical thirty percent
Just catching up.
A few RNS ago Ecotricity announced an increase in stock??
What are they after with Goods stock I wonder??
Need to do a headcount here as it may be I’m not the only one who wasn’t watching??
Or
I’m the only one here??
Regards A.
Well without understanding the accountants jargon, I personally cannot clarify the sums or dates.
I know even auditing companies get tangled up in their own rules so ordinary folk don't have a chance to fathom out their secret figure work.
UPshunt.
Could the difference be between agreed sale contract to payment received ??
