bit like the old 1st world war chestnut..... message sent......
"" Send reinforcements - we are going to advance "" arriving "" send three and fourpence , we are going to a dance""
Tig
tiggerman, so are you saying that MM's are forcing people to sell? How exactly are the MM's doing it? I agree that MM's do have shares on hand at various times and adjust the spread in response to market conditions and volumes, and as a result buy or sell limits may get triggered. I think maybe these ideas put many people off markets.
Tigger are you reminiscing about world war 1!!
Actually you made me think - I can't imagine trading in pounds, shillings and pence. I was born after decimalisation. Which is a good job as I don't think I'd have coped with the different number bases!
Haha Dip...it happened to me once too!! Nightmare and that's why I walk away. I do it rarely and it's only because I feel if the mms want them, then there's a background order to be filled giving me more confidence. I'm not sure if that's right? But I think I'll not attempt it too often in case I lose them altogether! then I'd only have fivers in my pockets instead of Mushroom's new 50's now!!!
11.40 panama - I agree with your theory as seen it happen loads of times
Whatever your buy in price is and you're holding shares here ,then relax and enjoy the sunshine. It's going to be a lovely summer. Fretting over newsflow or daily fluctuations just gives undue anguish then makes investors trade against themselves.
I'm chilled, looking forward to the MRE & seeing what's Newcrest's next moves will be.
Thanks lebugue.
I think it does usually transpire that way, AND good to know you do too. Let's hope that this company goes the way it deserves to in the near future, so we don't have to keep second-guessing!
Onwards & upwards!
not long til mid June... that 2% will be 52% :-)
if we are going to get big moves, it will be next week as the 11th is on a Monday so we could get the news on the Sunday night maybe?
The 11th is a Thursday is it not?
Spy hi,

So far today we've seen around a 6.5% swing in the sp, but increasing, which is more than we've seen for a few days. Mind you, it's Friday. IMHO I'd expect even a bit more volativity next week, heading to the expected interim report....
