Struggling to get above and stay above 350. Good company, strong fundamentals.

Dividend up 5% and a good outlook statement :
FY25 outlook reiterated
· The new financial year has begun in-line with our expectations, with improved momentum in Identity and Location continuing from the final quarter of FY24
· For the year as a whole, we expect mid-single-digit revenue growth on a constant currency basis, which will drive high single-digit growth in adjusted operating profit given the operational efficiency gains achieved in FY24

Hopefully there is also a modest increase in the dividend.
The share price is holding up well ahead of the results next week. Will be expecting further positive comments regarding improving trading conditions.

Following good results and strong performance recently from Experian, these are way too cheap imo and without a sharp rerating they will be subject to a possible takeover. Finally starting to head in the right direction. £5 seems more realistic to me.
Are we heading for something, Malvolio?
Thanks
GBG price was in the 400s pre-approach. It went briefly over the 600 mark before the Yanks walked away. Don't know what put them off.
The Business Desk, October 2022:
US private equity firm GTCR has decided not to bid for Chester-based identity verification specialist GB Group.
It confirmed today, ahead of its deadline to launch an official approach, that it was no longer interested in acquiring the business as part of a cash bid.
Shares in GB Group rose 10% when the potential approach was first revealed on September 6. They fell more than 20% today after GTCR made its announcement.
The GBG Board said it had early-stage discussions with GTCR in respect of a possible offer, but agreement could not be reached on terms.
In response to today’s announcement, the board said it believes the company has a long runway of sustainable growth opportunities underpinned by supportive structural drivers such as digitalisation and an ever-increasing need to protect against fraud.

The update has been very well received.
Yes, i think it is good. Thank goodness i did not lose faith in GB.
Trading update looks like a good one
Trading statement tomorrow, Tuesday 23 April.

Holding for the ultra long term may not be too mad
I didn't invest 10 years ago (error), and didn't follow GBG at all
Turnarounds are tricky, so there is still plenty of risk here
I paid 145.48p for mine nearly 10 years ago, so I've seem them all the way up and all the way back down again.
It was Naked Trader Robbie Burns who first made me aware of GBG (he had them from 20p).
You seemed to be questioning my questioning of winning's wisdom
selling at around the 7 year low when things look like they are turning is weird, but not greedy
"Yes, but equating 950 with 280 shows a basic lack of maths"
No idea what you're implying.
I regret not selling these when they were 950.
Just need profitable growth to return and this will flash up
tp £8++

It could easily retest 200-220 in a dull market
below 180 seems a stretch given what we currently know of the business and prospects imv
Bought a few back at 241....it could still go lower if the whole market tanks.

Oh...
Can't see what in the results is a surprise, but GBG is a traders plaything (so what doesn't break up must breakdown)
What will fcf next year be? (£50-60m?)
What average year-on-year growth? 5-10%?
If that happens then an EV of £700m looks cheap imv
But clearly EV of £600m (sp c £2) would make an even better play
It's cheap growth, as long as management doesn't mess up again

I've got my wish.
Is it a coincidence that the sp has been rising?
I can't see much progress here until we get some changes at the top. Anybody involved in the overpriced Acuant acquisition should be told to pack up and leave. That should definitely include the CEO and the head of GBG's US operations. I've no confidence in them, surely institutional shareholders must be thinking the same.
Less than stellar trading, but it looks like the market wasn't expecting much, judging from the muted share price reaction.
Speaking generally, I've been noticing that in-line or marginally disappointing results are not being as severely punished as they were a few months ago, which tells me we are now bumping along the bottom, at least in UK small cap world. If I'm right, it's just a matter of staying patient and we can expect fewer nasty surprises. ...
...apart from any surprises in Ukraine - that should be mentioned as I listen to Putin delivering a chilling and deluded speech on the anniversary of his 'special military operation'.

The middle east conflict? Of all the things that would have an impact of GBG that really isn't much of one. They're not based there, almost all of the regulated customers are not based there, they don't have staff setup there.
The UK / US economy is the main contributor to GBG's income. Gaming and FS.
I agree the debt is still on the high side, but my main concern is the middle-east conflict. I'm out for now until there's some kind of calmness in the world. Good luck to all
I expected the debt to have lowered much more otherwise good update.

At 207p to buy, the share price is back to where it was in June 2015, more than 8 years ago. I never envisaged investing conditions could get this bad.
Great write up in S Times but doesn't seem to have helped the sp. quite the contrary looking at today's nosedive.

180ish possible, but unlikely
if management are decent, then surely addressable/growing markets for GB software offer pretty easily growth?
If so, this is valued at cheap growth already imv (EV/rev and, perhaps esp, EV/fcf)
How much further can this drop?

This share is struggling to move beyond 230. If we can sustain momentum behind a move into the 230s this share could easily reach 250-260.

Things are turning round now.
Could be a shakeup coming.
Resolution 6 - Report on Directors' Remuneration
The Board notes that the advisory vote on the Directors' Remuneration Report did not receive the required majority number of votes to pass. Prior to the AGM the Remuneration Committee conducted an extensive consultation with the Company's largest shareholders regarding the Directors' Remuneration Report. The Remuneration Committee values the feedback they have received on the Company's remuneration arrangements and will continue to engage constructively with shareholders.
I don't think it has bottomed yet, they're still struggling with the high costs. Under 200p is definitely possible in the short term
Cheers
Could be a takeover target. Probably worth more broken up.
Is there any momentum left of this share?
Anything that is worth investing more?

No offence taken, need it to consolidate around these levels then push on, I do think GBG’s days as an independent co are numbered ….
I've been trading GBG shares for almost 10 years, I've definitely had my fair share of ups and downs.
Sorry I didn't mean to offend, I didn't really understand your statement and was hoping you'd clarify in layman's if it were good / bad.
Not speculation-fact
Almost 10 million traded yesterday which indicates overhanging sellers(s) have been cleared hence the rise today!
To clear that amount of shares up in a stock such as this is a v good sign as you see by the movement today-shame you didn’t get in first thing !
Don’t forget there were 5 bidders for this around the 660 level a little while back and I can see someone having a go at this as it’s at such an oversold level
Sorry what do you mean by this? There's definitely an uptick today and I can't really see any reason for it.
Care to share your insight / speculation?
Huge volume 2 of sellers definitely cleared, onwards and upwards here can certainly see another approach on the way…

I didn't see us falling this far. I'd have thought a bid would be incoming if the price remains down here for too long.
I wonder if GBG is now vulnerable to a bid.
Nice bounce today actually
Don't be fooled by questionable claims regarding AI. This should tank further tomorrow when more investors have read the whole dismal story. If the news gets any press coverage there might be a good recovery-play opportunity, buy below £1.50, maybe £1.25, poss. £1.00. OUCH
Surprising they didn't spot the looming impairment charge and offer some warning. Still some goodwill left to play with though. Who makes these numbers up?

Agree
How could the CEO and BOD approve a massive investment in Acuant with the highest volatility income steam in crypto at a time of record low loan rates. Extreme hubris with no clue about financial risk management.
This is a painful outcome of a poorly run company. With poor acquisitions & integrations under the CEO's watch - why arent shareholders pushing for a shake up?
