Have a nice holiday Morbox.
Not a very good day, and ftse futures down at the moment, but US close was mixed. EU got a kicking, oh well another day tomorrow. Similar to you tomorrow probably the last day as in-law s Monday- Tuesday then packing Wednesday for Mauritius, last time I went was 31 years ago on a conservation project sleeping under canvas for 4 months! This time 4* AI, but going Hiking and snorkelling (given up diving).
Back in here again at 250p today
Wrong call on JD Friday, up 8% now
Looks like the right move on JD! Wonder what the next catalyst is here?
I sold half of my JD yesterday, avg 112, went for an 8mile walk at this morning saw JD had dropped 7% time I got to the point where I don’t get 4g looked again down 11% bought some on the go only £2k, and set a sell limit 125.2. Got back to 4g and they had sold nearly £100 profit ! Only thing is this afternoon I bought £1k back in 123!
Sold my earlier trade in JD at 124p

up and away
Hi hope all is well with you. I keep checking, but not trading here. Still got a core in my wife’s ISA (div shares). I think there’s a trading range being developed but will monitor for a bit longer.
Deutsche Bank starts Man Group with 'buy' - price target 315 pence
(Sharecast News) - Investment management firm Man Group reported an improvement in assets under manager in the first quarter, according to a trading update released on Friday.
The company said AUM totalled $175.7bn by 31 March, up from the $167.5bn reported at the end of the 2023 financial year.
The increase was a result of a $9.8bn positive swing in investment performance, slightly offset by $1.6bn in net outflows.
In terms of product categories, notable increases in AUM were recorded for 'Japan equity', 'credit and convertibles' and 'global equity'.
Well enjoy your break.
Had a lovely walk in the forest, and i can see US markets are not happy ,and Europe is following,
and i think i have jinxed the FTSE 100, what do i know anyway lol ,and no trades for me for a while .
Turkey ,Bulgaria and Greece ,i want to try volcano's lifestyle, lol , it is unusually hot in the Balkans at the moment.
Good trade for you this morning. (Rip doh).
Going somewhere nice? FTSE is looking strong. Bloomberg reporting that US investors are starting to look here and Europe.
We need to wait until my son’s A levels are done but booked for mid June, so at last out of the school holiday ripe off period!
Maybe this week we would see FTSE 100 at 8000
The way FTSE 100 is ging we could get there next week.
(Reuters) - The UK's FTSE 100 inched up on Friday as investors continued to cheer the dovish tilt in the Bank of England's monetary policy, while insurer Phoenix Group led gains after its annual results.
PHNX is very good dividend income ,and trade now and again ,just like this morning , up on my this morning trade .
FTSE 100 is motoring again, we could see 8000 this spring.
Phoenix had a good year, I’m well down on them (21% not including divs income), but keeping long term actually add there yesterday.
Been out most of the day, I did sell my trade yesterday at 2.51. Let see what next week brings. Have a good weekend (wet in the south west but F1 tomorrow so not too bad). However, been off the Beer since Jan 2nd, trying to keep off until April!
Looks like we have got new trading range here 240p - 250p
Morbox , i am surprised that Mary is not on DS Smith board this morning, lol

In my next life much as i do not like it , i will only invest in US , lol . But my BNC is on fire .
(Sharecast News) - Numis has lifted its recommendation for investment manager Man Group from 'hold' to 'buy' and hiked its target price from 260p to 315p, saying that the company's decent short-term investment performance "cannot be ignored".
The broker said it has updated its estimates for Man Group following its full-year results announced last week.
While there was little change to numbers after an in-line set of results, "most of the group's key strategies" have performed well so far in 2024, which has driven an upgrade to forecasts.
Numis acknowledged that the recent investment performance might not be sustained, but for now it sees decent upside.
"We do not think the share price has adequately captured the strength of the investment performance delivered so far this year and the favourable P&L implications. With more than 20% upside to our new target price [...] our recommendation moves to 'buy'," the broker said.
US futures up now.
Swindon, England-based Nationwide said it remained wholly committed to being a building society and a modern mutual.

Traded DLG and AML and done well, not so good on TW. fingers crossed it would be ok tomorrow .US markets are recovering now.
Great news, but I’m still 18% down! I suppose it’s better than 35% down. I’m just leaving them, if the 233p happens it won’t be a loss if I include years of divs.
Wonder what will happen here tomorrow. US inflation data out tomorrow as well, which may hold the markets.
Sold the lot at 208p ,very happy
Good news on DLG Morbox, i have bought some more on the news ,and i am looking to sell the lot today.
Seams that way volcano , and welcome back
Last post: dedino, 23 Feb 2024 16:26

JPMorgan cuts Man Group price target to 318 (323) pence - 'overweight'
Just come back from my walk and i can see US is doing OK again , FTSE 100 finished on high and EMG could be in a rally mood monday .This is very stressful, i should have followed volcano.
I have closed all my trades ,and i am off to my afternoon walk, monday is another day.
This morning I went for a 6 mile cliff walk (not to jump!) and the US futures were well down, now they’re in the blue (just).
We all think it will but when ,US doesn't look like it , i would sell the lot at 240p , enjoy your glass of wine.
If it reaches 2.38 I think I may sell my core this time. This bull market is going to have a pull back as profits are taken (I think).

TIG has results out soon I’ve got my eye in buying more at around 118 or less. JD I’m still down even with today’s raise, but happy to hold.
I’m with you on the US markets. There will be another big drop, don’t know when, but it will happen. At that point I’m going to invest into some US funds. I was only looking to day at LEGAL & GENERAL US INDEX CLASS C - ACCUMULATION (GBP) , but the price seems high to buy in right now, maybe I’m wrong but going to hold off and just keep it in mind. End of the week some US data Thursday and Friday, hoping that EMG will have a pull back for that.
Anyway see what tomorrow brings. Today I’ve stated to take a tranche in S4 on the drop (to hold for a while)
Wednesday EQLS takeover deadline and I’m waiting for Kelt TU which should be sometime this week, bought at 56p ish on that drop.
Followed US and bought some more at 225p again
Fifteen years ago i have invested in FTSE 100 now i wish i have invested in US markets ,
Two days now JD is doing ok for me ,but not in TIG yet

Volcano, TW. Doing well I’m up 18% now but keeping for div’s, just in the blue on PSN, may add more HB’ers. I see people piling in next year.
Thought so, I’ve put it on my investigation list. Hopefully we’ll get above 220 here!
Hi Morbox , I've bought SEIT over the last 2 days.It goes X dividend soon and the current yield over the year is 10%.
The SP has been hammered this year and it's on a large discount to NAV.
It looks quite a good prospect in my opinion.

(Sharecast News) - Man Group, the world's largest listed hedge fund, posted a jump in assets under management on Thursday.
Updating on third-quarter trading, the firm said AUM had reached $161.2bn as at 30 September, up from £151.7bn at the end of the previous three months.
Net flows were $700m.
Analysts had been expecting net flows of $800m and AUM of $163.5bn, according to Reuters.
Total return products were $39.6bn, up from $29.4bn, after Man benefited from $10.5bn of foreign exchange movements.
It was further boosted by the $183m acquisition of US private credit firm Varagon Capital Partners, which completed at the start of September. Varagon had $11.8bn of assets at the end of 2022.
The numbers are the first to be released under Robyn Grew, who took over as chief executive of the firm last month. Grew is Man's first female chief executive in its 240-year history.
Just added 214.4. Shopping now. So it will probably go down!
H&L getting hit today down 4.5%
Great update but most of increase has come from fx movement - so not likely to keep happening.
L&G getting hit today. I’m sure it’s getting manipulated before Jeremy Hunt budget in November.
Ashmore "ASHM" trading update could efec the price today.
Trading update for nearly ten asset management companies including EMG in the next seven days ,i do follow most of them.
I was out earlier and missed HFD , up 20% on takeover speculation.
Funny you say that I just added TW to my wife’s ISA after xdiv today.
Over forty companies on my watchlist ,i don't know if is good or distraction, but only trade few companies.
This month EMG, ABDN ,TCAP and BNC but most Man group, next should be housebuilders again ,i hope.
The US CPI data out at 13:30.
Hope so, I bought today @ 219.3, (missed the high 218’s) again target 223-224, sniffed 223 but didn’t make it. Hopefully tomorrow, as I type ftse futures up .43% but as you know that means nothing in the morning.
But my Ketl shares did well!
Better day here today , next stop 225p i hope
I have only have ten percent of my money in the stock market , rest are in guaranteed income investments, less stressful that way .
Yep L&G near 12 month lows, tempted to top up my ISA and add but this market, maybe leaving it in high interest account is better! Also AV, maybe once Jeremy Hunt comes out in Nov with his conning plan to booster UK investment it will have a positive impact on them. One thing I did like the sound of was an ISA combined (Cash/Stocks ). We will see give with one hand take with the other.
I would be happy with 224p for today ,LGEN is looking good at 210p
