quite simply the worst share I`ve ever owned. On a day of nothing but green prices ddd never fails to disappoint. Can`t wait to get out. Happy new year.
Does anyone know if samsung are planning to use DDD technology in their tablets. If they do this SP will have to stop stop drifting down.
Cant say I blame you, Though cey is embroiled in a bout of middle eastern politics that has a nasty habit of dragging on forever. I`m bored with waiting for this rise, but will hang on as the fundamentals seem sound.
LOL at the moment i think dodgy will be better. Every time i post the SP goes down :(. Just sold half my stake here and brought CEY. Hoping for a quick profit there, then get back here in time for the rise which will come eventually. GLA
Hope thats DDDGY not dodgy!
DDD is now trading on the OTCQX market under symbol DDDGY, fingers crossed this will push SP north
Wrote to "Shares" mag at wkend ref house brokers. DDD`s is Canaccord who rate it at 50p. Do they know something we dont or is this pie in the sky?
DDD must rank really high in the overlooked category. Great recnt RNS. No debt. Expanding markets. Revenue Growth in the +100% bracket. Solid instutional shareholders. Why is it still 22p?
Given the upbeat tempo of trading news isnt it time we got a positive reaction from the sp?
ShunWang: "DDD’s TriDef 3D software has been integrated into ShunWang’s WangWei Master Portal software for internet cafes, resulting in a new 3D gameplay option for i-Cafe visitors. Today’s launch coincides with ShunWang’s annual products conference in Hangzhou, China and follows previews of the new software in major cities across China." "ShunWang has an innovative franchise model which has resulted in its quick expansion to over 90,000 of its i-Cafe Mavin internet cafes in China. ShunWang has an installed base of over five million PCs, and estimates that over 50 million people visit a ShunWang iCafe each day. i-Cafe Mavin is the largest internet cafe chain in China and the only one that is publicly traded." http://www.ddd.com/marketwatch-3d-gaming-debuted-by-chinas-i-cafe-market-leader/1856/ Lenovo: "3D technology concern DDD Group (DDD) has licensed its TriDef software to computer manufacturer Lenovo for its 3D PCs." "The AIM-quoted concern noted that Lenovo used its TriDef technology last year with its Y560d notebook and has subsequently decided to use TriDef for its IdeaCentre PCs. DDD enthuse that its technology enables films, videos and photos to be converted into 3D with over 540 2D games also able to be played in 3D using its software." www.ddd.com/ddd-teams-with-lenovo/1210
Market in China is expanding rapidly but DDD need to partner with one of the big players.
My guess is that Samsung wants to be able to push video from customers' smartphones, tablets, computers and TVs any way the customer desires. The DDD patent license will allow Samsung to customize and control their code across product lines. Best case - because Samsung is the worldwide market leader in Smartphones and TVs, the majority of vendors will also choose DDD patent licenses. They will want the video on their PC to be able move to a Samsung TV and back, seamlessly. Maybe Apple will go along ! There is a plausible possibility that DDD's patents will become the standard worldwide.
Can't remember where i first saw it but this is recent http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ddd-group-present-ld-micro-120535723.html
Just wondering where you have read about a US listing? It seems as though the stock does not get too much interest on the AIMS market, so it would be a good move. It seems that 3D is going crazy in China.
Does anyone know, if and when DDD will be floated on the US stockmarket. I've heard it will be around the 1st Dec if they do
(179.7*4)*(.313)*.25 US cents per Samsung smart phone sales = $56M gross revenue to DDD in next 12 months assuming DDD patents are used in all Samsung SmartPhone sales (quarterly sales remain constant) and DDD receives only $.25 per sale. Is this funny math or is there huge potential for DDD, just in Samsung's smartphone business? The recent RNS about Samsung contracting for the use of DDD's patents is a tremendous win for DDD. I do not know what $amount DDD receives per unit from Samsung. I used $.25 per as a low-end figure. From IDC: "The figures show that Samsung led the smartphone market with 31.3% global share, followed by Apple (15%), RIM (4.3%), ZTE (4.2%) and HTC (4%)." "Globally more than 179.7 million smartphones were shipped in the third quarter, compared to 123.7 million a year ago." http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/10/29/idc-quarterly-survey-nokia_n_2037098.html
Daniel Stewart reiterated its "buy" recommendation on technology firm DDD Group (DDD) with a target price of 50p. The broker's recommendation comes on the back of the nationwide launch in China of Hangzhou ShumWang Technology's 3D gaming technology which incorporates DDD'S TriDef 3D software in i-cafes throughout China following a testing period in the summer. The broker believes that this news validates DDD's key position in the 3D PC market in China
It will come...
thats 3 in a row now! Another RNS! 3D gaming debuted by China's i-Café market leader Los Angeles, California: DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD), the 3D solutions company, announces the nationwide launch in China of Hangzhou ShunWang Technology Co., Ltd.'s (300113:Shenzhen) 3D gaming technology, incorporating DDD's TriDef 3D software, in i-Cafés throughout China. DDD's TriDef 3D software has been integrated into ShunWang's WangWei Master Portal software for internet cafés, resulting in a new 3D gameplay option for i-Café visitors. Today's launch coincides with ShunWang's annual products conference in Hangzhou, China and follows previews of the new software in major cities across China. ShunWang has an innovative franchise model which has resulted in its quick expansion to over 90,000 of its i-Café Mavin internet cafes in China. ShunWang has an installed base of over five million PCs, and estimates that over 50 million people visit a ShunWang iCafe each day. i-Café Mavin is the largest internet café chain in China and the only one that is publicly traded. Using TriDef, ShunWang's new 3D portal gaming software allows 75 of the latest Chinese PC games to be played in 3D "off the shelf" even if they were not specifically developed for 3D. By the end of 2012, over 100 Chinese titles are expected to be available. TriDef's 2D to 3D game conversion engine is compatible with DirectX 9, 10 and 11 games. A unique high-performance stereoscopic 3D render mode enables 3D gaming with no significant compromise in performance, and is compatible with PC graphics processors from AMD, NVIDIA and Intel's 2nd Gen Core processors. Moses Chan, General Manager of ShunWang, said: "We have been working closely with DDD to develop 3D games for our i-Café Mavin stores. The initial testing during the summer demonstrated that our customers love to play games in 3D. We expect that the ability to play the latest games in 3D will translate into increased business and new customers in our i-Café Mavin locations throughout China." Chris Yewdall, chief executive of DDD, said: "ShunWang has been very successful in expanding into the iCafe market. Choosing TriDef as its 3D game solution serves to further validate DDD's key position in the 3D PC market in China." The introduction of the new 3D game feature in the i-Café Mavin chain is expected to create further opportunities for DDD's PC software licensees, including LG Electronics and AOC, to supply their 3D monitors to the internet café operators. DDD's receives software license royalties from the 3D monitor manufacturers.
Another cracking RNS and more royalties to come quarterly. This one is bubbling...
Can someone explain this "planned evolution" ? Has DDD ever even hinted to its investors that an evolution out of technology development into patent licensing is in the works ? I'm reading this as a major change in the company's strategy. What do you think ? Just what does "out of technology development " really mean ? Does this mean that the techies are toast and the patent lawyers take over ? What is the revenue outlook ? "The agreement represents a further step in our planned evolution from technology development and licensing into patent licensing as the 3D market continues to mature."
Samsung have faith in DDD. SP should respond. GLA
Partnership with samsung. Nice. Should get more interest now.
A company with great fundamentals, money in the bank, profitable, good growth in terms of license agreement, software that is "becoming an industry standard" continue to be stagnant and stale. We should be shouting from the roof tops DDD and singing their praise for a self funding company. Why has the share price not increased as it should, why is it not receiving the coverage it deserves. While other AIM companies most with debt and dilution upon dilution of shares continue to be endorsed. No wonder the world economy is in this perilous situation, have we not learnt. Right is wrong and wrong is right I am becoming confused. Should I continue to invest in good foundations or should I be looking for the worst debt ridden crumbling rotten infested companies for a source of inspiration.
Whats with all the sells over the last couple of days Guys and Gals..?
