144,000 icafes in China possibly going to get DDD technology if trials go well. May get update on trials soon. Biggish article taking up 40% of page. Very positive on DDD's outlook. 'SP may double'
I think babbler is refering to shares magazine , not 100% sure as i don't subsribe to it but someone on another site mentioned it. May be in meant an annoucement in aug and not the results as we all know they are in sept. But i agree with yoy rappahannock it would be good if info was backed up
Why do you not reference the magazine article ? DDD historically announces H1 results in late September, not August. Please back-up your post.
Magazine article today says to buy this pre results and announcement next month. Potential to double over coming months. Interesting...
Chris Yewdall, Chief Executive of DDD said: "We are pleased to extend our close relationship with LG in the PC market as the 3D PC market continues to develop. We look forward to assisting LG in expanding the demand for its range of 3D PC products."
LG Electronics renews license agreement for TriDef 3D Los Angeles, California: DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD), the 3D solutions company, has renewed its license agreement with LG Electronics ("LG") to bundle DDD's TriDef® 3D software with LG's growing line of 3D PC products. The two-year extension allows LG to continue to ship DDD's market-leading TriDef 3D software that enables 3D gaming and videos on LG's range of 3D notebooks, PCs and monitors. LG's 3D PC products are based on the polarized 3D system, delivering the ultimate 3D viewing experience with comfortable, lightweight 3D glasses. Available in over 30 languages, DDD's TriDef 3D software allows over 650 of the latest PC games to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even if the game has not been specifically developed for 3D. The TriDef 2D to 3D game conversion engine is compatible with DirectX 9, 10 and 11 games. Its unique high-performance stereoscopic 3D render mode enables 3D gaming with no significant compromise in performance, and is compatible with PC graphics processors from AMD, nVIDIA and Intel's 2nd Gen Core processors. The TriDef 3D media player automatically converts videos, photos and DVD movies from 2D to 3D. To round out its comprehensive 3D offering, LG's 3D PC products will include a selection of original 3D movie trailers from the growing library of high definition 3D movies available at Yabazam.com, DDD's 3D content portal. DDD and LG are collaborating to introduce 3D gaming to the sizeable I-Café market in China, estimated at over 144,000 locations. Beta testing of the new TriDef enabled I-Café software with LG 3D monitors began in select I-Café locations in July.

DDD Group, a three-dimensional (3D) solutions company, has launched the Yabazam 3D movie app for Samsung Smart TVs with 3D capability. The free-to-download application streams 3D movie trailers from the growing collection of 3D movies available at Yabazam.com. Later this month customers will be able to download full length 3D movies for a pay-per-view fee. The firm said the new 3D app expands Yabazam's reach to a much wider audience and gives the owners of Samsung Smart TVs with 3D capabilities access to an even greater range of 3D content.
Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD, said: "Samsung leads the market in 3D TVs and we welcome the opportunity to provide their viewers with compelling 3D content. Yabazam is proving to be a popular Smart TV app in these early days of 3D TV adoption, as it greatly increases the availability of 3D content in the home." DDD is aggressively growing the range of 3D movies available on Yabazam. Its latest release is the acclaimed "UYUYUI!" from Timbo Estudio, which triumphed on the international festival circuit in 2011, with awards from 3D Film Festivals in Belgium, Tokyo and Los Angeles. Other popular titles include the Safety Geeks SVI series, the Curse of Skull Rock and Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

Yabazam was launched in late 2009, becoming the first online portal to offer high definition 3D movies. The new 3D app expands Yabazam's reach to a much wider audience and gives the owners of Samsung Smart TVs with 3D capabilities access to an even greater range of 3D content.
July Techinvest tips DDD twice in two seperate articles, one of which is as one of their second-half best buys. "DDD released a very positive trading statement at its AGM on June 12 in which the 2D-to-3D technology conversion specialist revealed that revenues in the March quarter were 85% ahead year-on-year...The group continues to sign up plenty of licence deals, all likely to add to the escalating level of royalty payments over coming years. In our view, these are yet to be fully factored into the market's current valuation of the shares." It gives DDD a risk rating of 7(where 1 is highly speculative and 10 is highly conservative and relatively risk-free). Here is some of the second article - "...Demand for the TriDef 2D to 3D conversion products increased by 50%,with approximately 3.5 million units shipped. This brings the cumulative number of consumer devices shipped with TriDef 3D to more than 15 million units worldwide.Shipments by TV chip manufacturers grew 28% over the first quarter of 2011,while PC shipments grew 1,771% over the comparable period. As part of the planned expansion into the emerging market for glasses-free 3D mobile devices,DDD recently signed two evaluation agreements for TriDef Mobile software with customers who are creating 3D reference designs for 3D smartphones and 3D tablet PCs.LG also launched its second generation Optimus 3D Max glasses-free smartphone in March, which uses DDD's TriDef Mobile Android software for 2D to 3D video conversion. The company said that it expects continued growth of the TriDef 3D technology licencing and Yabazam 3D content distribution businesses throughout the remainder of the year.
June, 29, 2012 Yabazam, the well known 3D movie portal is now directly accessible by all Samsung 3DTV and Blu-ray 3D players with a web connection. Just go to the “Samsung Apps” menu and install the Yabazam Application. The process is also valid for LG 3DTV sets. I think that was an issue for DDD in the past, but they seem to have improved their price per unit as large OEM's and other global companies have become somewhat reliant on TriDef, boosting DDD's negotiating position. I believe the issue here to be a similar story to many other young tech companies, the question of how well they can translate revenue growth into bottom line profit growth, and also how well they can protect themselves against rival technologies. These are the areas that I am currently researching before making any decisions on a potential investment in DDD. My new investment strategy is to keep most of my capital in cash, and to only invest in companies where I am confident in their long-term ability to become, or maintain their position as, market-leaders, but also where I believe there are several potential catalysts for short-term appreciation in the shareprice. I only have what for me is a significant amout invested in two companies presently, AFC and MONI. Not ramping them but they are both fantastic companies IMO who have very bright futures, so I would suggest looking into them, as I am with DDD and also GBO.
I'm using $.52 average per unit. It is a rough estimate based on recently announced revenue and units shipped.
thanks for explaining :). Yes i'm holding here got my shares at 28p :( but still confident that i be in profit by the end of the year. i couldn't understand why the sp is so low at the moment , but after abit of looking around, i think it may have something to do with them not making that much per unit of the tridef. Not 100% certain but think its only 2.7p or cents per unit. Does anyone know any more about what ddd gets per unit
Shares are published on here in black when they are on the mid-price, i.e. the price of the trade is exactly half way between the bid and the ask price, for example trades at 25p when the spread is 24.5-25.5p. Sites like this use computer software to calculate buys v sells, and can be unreliable if MM's allow buys below the mid-price, or sells above the mid-price, as the trades are then incorrectly categorised as buys or sells. I am following the development story at DDD with great interest, and constantly watching for a bargain entry point. Are you guys all holding here?
I would also like to know like warrior1066 why the trades are not listed
Can anyone explain why the last deals trades are not listed Buy or Sell ? there are some significant trades in there :)
shows you that if a board works hard the results show for themselves
I knew something was brewing. Movement in price with no news was strange. Somebody was smart enough to buy in at 24p. Good luck to them. Great news today, looks so promising.
