I did sell a few above 620 at 620.4 p but those were my spare shares
Only if you believe a higher bid will come ! Stay in a bit
.... and drift slowly down she goes.
Wonder how low it will go before any more significant news.
Defo made the right call too sell out @ 620
Hoping there is another chance too play this
Maybe if there is a higher offer - those still holding Dark might be in the mood for a beer :):)
I will be in Uk around 16 June for a week or so including in London , perhaps Sheltie and others could suggest a good place and time to meet for a beer in say London , HKK , and as many oldtimer and new Dark holders ! Even those who sold out of course welcome - it’s over to someone else to arrange if possible around June 16 to June 30
I have learnt my lesson from last year - certainly TB might just buy Dark for 620 p
The Times newspaper says hold which is strange unless at least a small probability of higher bid
Are you willing to bet a bottle of Red wine at 10 pounds a bottle that there will be no higher bid ?
The only Mystery is why you are the only share holder (allegedly) that hasn’t come to terms with the inevitable.
Microsoft to bid £20 a share.
Even antacids will not help that gut feeling.
Yeah my apologies about that :):)
Near £20m was dumped just before close
Yes some are selling out for sure
The mystery is whether there will a new buyer coming in like a white knight on their horse
Health records compromised and being published online. MOD payroll hacked. Border patrol system down. Remember when the shorters were telling us that the cyber security market was being overstated. Thoma Bravo must be rubbing their hands. The price they are paying for Darktrace will turn out to be an absolute bargain.
And now the slow drift begins
AI investor - I defer to you and your wisdom on this one
God bless you !
My gut feeling is microsoft make a bid for 20 pounds a share!!
My gut feel - another bid at around 690 p only and then TB offer 750 p and we are out !
Still 750 p better than 620 p , although 850 patil possible , never say never
What would happen is a no vote
Mystery lingers over whether some of Darktrace's biggest shareholders are prepared to back its £4.2 billion takeover by America's Thoma Bravo.
Founding investor Mike Lynch – currently on trial in the US over fraud claims related to executive search software firm Autonomy – has yet to comment.
And it is also tough to work out the position of the Darktrace Employee Benefit Trust – which includes an unspecified numbers of workers.
Mystery: Founding investor Mike Lynch – currently on trial in the US over fraud claims related to executive search software firm Autonomy – has yet to comment
The trust owns just under 8 per cent, or £337 million, of shares.
Darktrace has been unable to shed light on how the trust will go about deciding whether to back the deal.
CR888, as I said -happy to stay in cash for a while, although Ocado looks interesting.
Rewind to the days of Tremor, if anyone recalls them, and you'll find a situation marked by potential failure, but it had a spurt of significant rises - I got out before it eventually dived. RR was also facing significant challenges not too long ago, I made a modest profit there. Many thought Dark was destined for failure. It's interesting how quickly we forget. Now, consider these instances: two potential disasters and one star fallen out of favour, all of which turned out quite good for me. Let's reflect on that for a moment.
I am out too, Dark has been a good investment. Made 100% in post IPO hype before selling at £10 and then jumped back in at £4 average to sell at £6...if the deal does not work through I will come back for more. I have hedged my bets putting half my Dark holding in MNG and the other half in SN.
I am still sceptical of both options, but fid not see any better options in the FTSE. Any other options, I am happy to hear!
ITV were a surprise disaster when they tried to do Netflix type stuff
Surely you have ideas , even Buffet has ideas....buy China funds ?
PS
... I do have a holding in ITV, long,
I'm not sure how that will pan out - but at the moment I'm just under break even.
No immediate plans, CR888
I will stay in cash for a while until an opportunity comes along.
Winstanel fully understand but where do you plan to invest next :)
the employees trust may need to follow the board ... secure a good future ...with TB , when is the vote?
