That fool article is quite incredible. Beyond stupidity.Anyone who follows their advice is insane.
Oldfortyniner. I think it is wrong to assume you need a bid to make money. I bought computacenter in 2007 when the share price collapsed to 70 pence. A lot of nonsense was being talked by the usual London analysts who don't understand tech. Had a bid of £1.40 come in I would have doubled my money straight away. Thankfully that never happened and I still hold today. The current share price is £29.62. Sometimes companies just need to be left to grow and not be sold on the cheap just because the market doesn't get them. Again just a personal viewpoint but until London is able to take a longer term viewpoint every tech company listed will be vulnerable to predators who will buy well below true value.
Absolute bonkers article.
We now know the real name of Charles CR888. It is Oliver Rodzianko.
No other idiot would even consider writing this garbage other than our very own CR888.
Unbelievable:
https://www.fool.co.uk/2024/06/17/the-darktrace-share-price-has-been-surging-and-it-could-climb-higher/
They're not just fools, they're really clueless. Can't believe these people are paid to write this rubbish. Gives you the measure of the non-existent reliability of any of their "analyses". Never listen to MF, always DYOR.
It was anything BUT "clueless". It was a really well thought out/executed transaction. You have much to learn Charles and looking at 'momentum' stocks might be a good start. I spotted RR and went for it. Selling DT was inspired, if I don't say so myself. It worked out SO well (and yes, I'm still in RR). You got mugged here and were also buying right up into the £9's (and I clearly remember thinking this guy is nuts buying into this artificial 'immediate post IPO frenzied spike'!). Now THAT was definitely clueless!! This did not work out for you . . . s**t happens.
No one dares to trump Thoma Bravo
Too many other deals in future
Done !
Move on
YES.
Why?
Because, legally, it is too late now.
Get over it! 🤮
Okay so 86% voted to accept the TB dollars, does that stop anyone else trumping it?
As Sheltie said it was always going to be. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence would have noticed at the last AGM there wasn’t enough free float for the no votes to have won.
Should have done you homework before making fools of yourself following the 🤡 every word.
Thanks for the entertainment though. 😂🤣
100% ALWAYS WAS A 'DONE DEAL'.
IT WAS NEVER IN ANY DOUBT - AS A CITY ANALYST FRIEND TOLD ME, AT THE TIME THAT THE OFFER WAS MADE . . . .

I thought at least the shortseller would have bought back to push to price to 595p. Actually, that won't help them, it is only 5%. Speaking of shortseller, this is saddening. They recently opened a short position in spite of announcement of TB, good news of ML, and tech bull market, They are so pathetic, do they not know other way of making money? They are the reason I'm never investing in LSE again.
Personally, I did think about buying as safe investment to beat bank interest rate. However, it does not make sense to sell Nasdaq shares to buy Darktrace as the cost of selling, exchange rate, and buying would be about 3-4% already, let alone the opportunity cost of waiting for over 4 months to get the money back. I will not surprise me if the SP dip in next couple of months, as surely some will lose their patience.
Anyone else surprised by the SP following the vote (currently £5.80)? That's quite a gap betwewen the price and the accepted offer price. Tempted to open a CFD here as I doubt very much the regulator will put a stop on the deal going through.

AI-Investor, "Captain charles, what do we do now?" reminds me of the scene in Monty Python's 'Life of Brian' when Brian tells the crowd following him to f off and they ask how should they f off !!
I hope Charles has made plenty of dosh considering all his postings here !!
Charles is my investing hero. I bought dark at 250 and made a load on it. Charles what next?
Dear God. "Summoning" CR888 is like inviting a blind monkey into your house and asking it how to operate the microwave. You must be very very desperate - or just seriously lousy at investing in Equities 😱 🤪 🤣 🤣
I think I'd back the monkey myself.
Captain charles, what do we do now?

But if uranium is your play the ETF URNP is your go to.
I'm investing all my proceeds into Yellow Cake. With more countries switching to cleaner nuclear power, there is a resulting demand-supply imbalance in uranium, which is forecasted to last for a few years. (DYOR).
Oh forgot BP and HBR for growth and income !!
CR888, Minimum 2 year investment - for income and some growth LGEN, PHNX, AV., BT; for mainly growth IAG, EZJ, RR., GLEN; for mainly income IMB and BATS. All shares carry risk and there are industrial disputes going on at IAG (Aer Lingus pilots) and RR. ( Submarine engineers).
Well … which other shares do investors like in Uk

A yes vote most likely
Only 4 trading hours left for another bid
Charles your last 2 posts epitomises your contribution to this board over the past 2.5 years.
You are still babbling utter nonsense all the way to the end.
You’ve never come close to any factual information once. Definite candidate for one flew over the cuckoos nest.
Tempted to open more of a position here. As it stands there is an easy 5 ish percent gain to mske. Although what cpild have caused the drop
Darktrace investor relations team said a few weeks ago
1 . 19 per cent of shares are already committed to a Yes vote
2. A few weeks ago the chances of a no vote , most unlikely ( unless Lynch court case result swings the vote with big shareholders )
Poppy I agree now not care ( except that Lynch is out of Jail ) that’s hugely embarrassing for her , she sell out while he is in court - to save herself the Bod and to enrich herself with Thoma Bravo offer , quite frankly Dark share price would be above 600 p now without an offer ..,
We might need to find new shares - serious ideas welcome

Is it June 18th
Sorry all what is the deadline for a new bidder again?
As the deadline looms, for those with patience, a spreadbet pr CFD may be worth looking at bearing in mind the gap between current SP compared with the offer. IG have a c.4p spread.
Don’t cry now. We outed you as a BS merchant 2 years ago.
It’s been entertaining watching you gain groupies along the way. All lapping up your ramps whilst you got posts removed that outed you for what you are.
I have zero sympathy for them they still believe DT should be valued at £9. Because you said so and a paid Broker issued that price.
The Sad truth is you do not even have that many shares in DT. You even made up a story about selling some then 5 days later realising that you hadn’t actually sold them.
Even then the deluded kept believing you.
I should ignore morons but …
35% up now in pre trading.
Shame though they reduced allocation in the IPO offering.
We have always known you have no idea what you are talking about. The fact you have deluded following you that actually think you have inside knowledge.
Very entertaining especially that blatant lie about contacting customer investor relations and them telling you votes were coming in as Yes.
I can’t believe the gormless lot fell for that.
Kick did you say you are a Raspberry ?
Clearly time is running out for a new bidder
And not sure at all a Yes vote direction can be reversed
Kick please kick yourself hard - wake up to reality
What are you smoking ?
Already showing 28% up in my account on my Raspberry Pi shares and we don’t even start trading until Friday.
Whilst the comics on here are holding on for Charles every word. The rest of us are coining it in.
Great work Charles keep stringing the cult along.

Getagrip - we could be best freinds :)
The UK, US Government, fat lady, & Mike Lynch, want him fighting cyber-crime, so fingers crossed. I've just voted against the takeover.
Yes getafgrip, not over till the fat lady sings !! Maybe Lynch would be interested in running Darktrace after buying with a group ??
Darktrace is now a FTSE 100 company & therefore this further indicates that mant consider the opportunist bid from Thoma Bravo should be improved.
Mike Lynch has been cleared of all charges in the US. Presumably this would also free him up to be a director of Darktrace again if the opportunity arose, and it was his inclination. For me one of the last outcomes that the US Government would accept was jailing one of the World's leading cyber security experts for decades, it would have been too much of an own-goal!
He states that he wanted to come back to the UK, his family & making innovations in his chosen field - so that it is now very relevant what he decides to do. He only resigned from the Advisory Board of Darktrace in February 2022.
Will he just return to Silicon Fen, or will he be open to recruitment into the Thoma Bravo camp to head up innovation based in Cambridge, with Darktrace based in the US. This might be acceptable from the US and UK perspectives i.e. the UK not losing Darktrace altogether.
If only 25.1% is needed to secure a "NO" Vote, what is going to happen with Mike Lynch and Angela Bacares remaining shares, the employee benefit plan, or any other so far non-declared votes. If another potential predator is waiting in the wings, might they not persuade Mike Lynch to head a rival bid at short notice, or one that is largely already prepared.
This is tight, but I doubt whether it is all over yet. I certainly hope not.

You may well be right , no new bidder
Then done and dusted at current offer
You may well be right , no new bidder
Then done and dusted at current offer
No new bidder in my opinion. I can't think of any competitors
Let’s sssume a Yes vote
Then the only unknown is whether in next 5 trading days or so a new bidder arrives , .., so far nothing yet
I have got a new hobby Clued.
It is laughing at yours and Charles posts. It is so entertaining, the utter nonsense you 2 are writing.
Masterful use of ML as a reason the board sold up. Is that the same ML that they kicked his representative off the board at the last AGM.
Keep going it is comical.
🫡
The probability that this could be the only and final bid for Dark grows higher by each of the next 6.5 trading days
Let’s assume a Yes vote !
So as I say - for a higher bid price the only chance might be a new higher bidder - and the deadline is 1159 am on 18 June
CR888, sounds bad news as just checking in here to see if you've been able to persuade any of your contacts to vote NO !!
Yes according to Dark investor relations , a week ago , most large investors were planning a Yes vote …
So even with Lynch verdict , it might not be enough to change a Yes vote
Therefore the only thing now that could prevent Thoma Bravo buying Dark at 610 p or do , is another last minute Bidder , and so far no sign of another bidder yet
So this as HKK says could be done and dusted !
If a No vote happens I anticipate a short term share price collapse & a huger buy in opportunity for the bounce back but unlikely to No vote will happen so in 5 days it will all be done & dusted.

Mike Lynch: We must reform extradition treaty to US:
https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-13506635/Mike-Lynch-reform-extradition-treaty-US.html
Yes lots of others would agree with you
Slightly off topic I think the one sided extradition treaty between us and the U.S. is so wrong. When an American woman killed a young motor cyclist here she refused to return here stand trial yet our government happily agrees to the extradition of Mike Lynch to stand trial for a white collar offence. This treaty was intended for terrorism.

Yes the Bod has protected their downside of the lynch case - they gave up on him
Next week he will arrive back to Uk with great fan fare no doubt
The Bod messed up - going out too early and they are expected mL to be locked up
Now huge embarrassment and guilt plus not caring
CR888, the BOD won't give a damn, they think of themselves and their families !!
The BOD and Poppy were using the Mike Lynch court case as a reason to sell out , now that he is fully acquitted and he will be in Uk 🇬🇧 soon …. Including in Cambridge , the whole BOD might be feeling guilty for selling Dark cheap and embarrassed ( even though they will get richer … for the rest will f their lives they will feel guilty now for screwing
1. Uk out of a tech company
2. Investors by Not getting full fair price
3. etc
But there is little the BOD can do now that the trigger is pulled
Only the other investors or another bidder ( the best option ) can save the day
HKK, not over till the fat lady sings as they say !!
It would be an epic opportunity if the no vote happens - I'd buy as many as I can then

CR888, maybe you could call your contact II's over the weekend and get them to vote No or Abstain ?!!
I understand 19 per cent of the shares already are committted to Yes
The other funds were strongly leaning towards Yes vote
I wonder if enough votes can switch to No
CR888,
"but now the rest of the shares might switch to a No vote .."
Sorry, but NO, they gave an Irrevocable undertaking !
It may be hard, soft or semi-hard, either way they can not change to a NO vote.
AIMO & DYOR
I have also voted no for all my little holding is worth. We need the big holders to vote no
Doyezee, good point, however there's opportunity now NOT to be "left it wide open to an opportunist takeout by TB on the cheap "
They still need a 75% Yes Vote, mine is a No !!

Well done sheltie with RR. I too have made large profits as bought in at the RI stage, sold half my holding too early (£1.50 believe it or not, but still doubled my money), the other half is still riding... !! Darktrace for me was only a small investment, 2,000 shares, which I traded a bit as well, so happy enough with my time in it !! Lynch has won today, and DARK is also in FTSE100, so I wonder what effect they'll both have on the TB takeover, if any !!
Sheltie,
Congrats on RR and I share your opinions on the increasingly frantic posts from some PIs. Like you I lost a similar amount but went back in and will recoup nearly all with this TO. I said I'd leave in the sock draw and shut up which is exactly what I have done, unlike some who have said 'thats all from me for a while' and then cascaded nonsense at an ever increasing rate.
Good luck to you in the future, though as we say in golf, 'the more I practice, the luckier I get'.
Clued ,
Good question - so far most of the funds are apparently leaning towards a Yes vote ( I can only see a Lunch acquittal changing that if it happens in days ) and 19 per cent of the shareholders already promised Yes . So apparently highly likely the Yes vote will happen .
You are right , there is a 4.8 per cent upside around at current exchange rate and share price , but clever investors may not want to wait a few months so prefer to switch into more upside shares like a few have already done so .
For me the most exciting would be a new bidder next week !
Sheltie well done , you did get a lot of things right for sure , also congratulations on your great results with RR
Some are happy for 300 p to 620 p on Dark
But others want more … agree disappointing!
Still 7 trading days or so … before June 18 at noon
Yes vote almost a certainty , so only a new bidder coming over the hills in next days can save the day for a higher price ..
For now the exchange rate direction not helping
And Lynch court case reaching final verdict
Anything can happen , but I have lowered my probabilities and brace for the Yes vote
This would need to be over £18 now (like that was ever going to happen!), to make me the same amount of profit that I have secured with Rolls Royce. I'm just so pleased that I got out, as DT has simply not been worth the time or terrible PI hype. It's been a disaster too for any folk who paid north of £6; sadly, it's BIG losses for them. I took a (very calculated) c.£1,600 loss here, but felt it would be worth crystallising it, to move into RR. Did I get lucky? Yes I did. BUT it was good, reasoned, investing. Ultimately, sitting on shares that are not performing, in the vague hope that one day they will, is never a good idea. The more that people ramped this, the more suspicious I became of it all. Too many got too 'emotionally involved' here, which also is always a bad idea. And with that, came ever increasing (and desperate sounding) repetitive rubbish. Soon this board will also be history, which will be a good thing, as the only meaningful winners here are the BoD and their buddies at TB. ATB 🫡

Thoma Bravo was on bloomberg tv today in Berlin , be buys and sells 4 to 6 companies each year
Another day and more laughter courtesy is the DARK board.
Apparently some are now begging for a new bidder and others are voting no in a vote that they are too stupid to not understand they won’t win.
