Hi gashead1883- am also in the ****et business, but what I hear is the other way round. Tapi have shut shop,, made people redundant, others are leaving as promises made are non existent and they keep having to raise more cash. Seems to me like CPR have got their act together and Tapi are struggling.
hi all I'm in the ****et game and last weekend all managers in my area at ****etright resigned and the guess is they are joining tapi .....although I havnt heard of any more stores opening quite yet in my area....I have a few customers asking me to fit ****etrights ****ets for them as fitters have also been leaving ... I'm not involved in the shares but just seen how they have fallen over tha last year ....wow !!
Does anybody know where this is going Forget Brokers, profits not that bad
share price has dropped despite increase in profit RNS seems the only cause
Once 254 clears this should move well. Very quiet here considering.
Now breaking into uptrend with higher highs and higher lows 1st Price target of 300-315
Bought in as brokers recommend them
This has now entered a new uptrend. 1st target of 300-315. See below link for chart. http://twitter.com/CapraCharts/status/839385238174302208
Carpetright would make a long-term investment if management successfully turnaround the business. The performance to date has suggested it made some positive progress. They are: 1. Reducing debt to record lows of £10m from a peak £110m in 2009. 2. Management expects profits before tax of between £13.9m to £18.5m this year. 3. Now, the business operates with 570 stores, which is 130 less a decade ago, but it manages to earn a profit. I see Carpetright’s management wants to emulate WH Smith by successfully increasing profits on stagnating sales figures and is highly-rated in the market. With market valuation close to £140m an 85% drop from the heydey of £1bn, an opportunity can present itself by investing in Carpetright’s shares for the long-term. Interested in Carpetright then read more here: http://bit.ly/2kQAYBP
Looking at the long-term chart, Carpetright has been a whipping dog for the market and bad for the current shareholder with the shares trending lower since the financial crisis (although they made a quick recovery in 2009/10, but quickly assume their downwards trend). But recently, the company is turning its life around when it return to profit and the elimination of debt. What do you guys think, am I missing something?
Positive recent business update and the sp is bouncing back a little. Some results due I think towards the end of April from memory and expectations are more positive. Can see this steadily climbing North and back around 300-315 by the summer hopefully.
If you think carpetright is good then you obviously haven't been to Dreams the bed specialist. 50% off on selected lines, 3 for 2 on bedroom furniture, further reductions currently live and Free delivery on all orders over a £100. Beat that. I go to the Halifax store close to Bradford as the store manager is a legend but yeah carpetright could be a lot better!
This has created divergences to price during the downtrend and had now broken out - BUY http://twitter.com/CapraCharts/status/824636795602104321
What a share lol
TARQUOID You seem pretty well informed !! Would you know how many Tapi stores are currently open & what is the target number & time scale to achieve this. I would find this interesting. Thanks in advance.

TARQUOID 'Growth of Tapi'....Obviously positioning themselves on similar sites to Carpetright And trying a more contemporary style. Walked in one close to me last month and for 10 mins was ignored so walked out. I think this store has a long way to go. This one might be a flash in the pan like Carpet Deppt was a few years ago - Same owners I believe..
GERRY557 Probably not accurate to call them '£600 admin charges'. In that price would be Underlay, Gripper, Door bars & of course the installation/Fitting cost. I do agree though that the £29 delivery charge is galling bearing in mind that they have to bring it to install it. No independent retailer would charge such a thing. (Share still cheap though imo).
Trying to buy carpets for a whole house and obtained a quote from Carpet right. The cost of the carpet was ok but then the invoice had over £600 of admin fees. After haggling the price they then informed that there would be a £29 delivery fee! They are about to loose a sale over this latest add on, its cheaper to buy a more expensive carpet from elsewhere. Still if people mainly pay all these add on's then the SP should rise
Looks like it to me !!
I'd agree with SurreyCarrie about retailers in general but surely this is due to the increase in goods being ordered online, I don't know anyone who's ordered a carpet online. The share price is cheap IMO and looks like a downgrade has already been factored in. I'm holding these long term so we shall see what happens after Brexit dust settles.
Most UK retailers' shares have taken a hammering in recent weeks (Next, Bon Marche, N Brown, Ted Baker and Mothercare) on subdued trading on the back of consumers holding back ahead of the referendum and for fashion retailers, because of the cool weather. Carpetright hasn't reported a slowdown yet but the institutional investors are betting that it might on the basis carpets are bigger ticket items than clothes. Downgrades to forecasts are therefore being priced in. Carpetright shares are cheap if there is no downgrade to forecasts, but the stockmarket is canny and rarely gets these things wrong, in which case Carpetright shares would fall further. Meanwhile business rates are crippling most bricks and mortar retailers, but this is not new news.
Neptune are obviously keen to reduce, they must have some concerns - I wonder how much more they will sell - still have 11.5%. Also with the CEO publically coming out against business rates seems a little concerning.
I agree, nothing obviously wrong here. I'm still cautiously buying as value seems to be there. Selling must end soon, then we'll see some 'bounce back', hopefully.
I was just about to ask the same thing....why is this falling on a daily basis?!!
