Why not listen to US Congressmen speak about the Digital Era - the hearing is humorously named
“Cryptocurrencies: What are they good for?”
https://www.banking.senate.gov/hearings/cryptocurrencies-what-are-they-good-for
note: skip to 15 minutes in
Summary: congressmen have been spurred to act/speak out on behalf of the Big Banks monopoly - follow the money!
Our #strategy is clear and consistent: maximise long-term FCF generation, maintain an active growth pipeline and deliver sustainable returns for our stakeholders. This is achieved through our 5 Strategic Pillars. Read about each pillar here: https://loom.ly/Zg-vzms

And some random, overly-concerned investors reply:
Pillar 5 "...good governance, ethical conduct & transparency"
transparency = disclosure
CEO Horgan - disclose Batie West's true resource incl 600k m drilled at Napelepera & Wadaradoo b4 divesting to @EndeavourMining for less than it's worth
@BlackRock_UK @Buchanan_PR @mining

Note: rumor is this random guy is still waiting for a response from Alex @ Centamin's IR dept for the last few months... he has learned not to expect one, though
That's true everything should be priced in & markets are forward looking into a recovery I think. The worst is certainly behing CEY now one would hope. Remember we are still way over 100% away from the highs of last year so at these sp levels it's a bargain dividend paying share with huge upside potential
Hi Siko,
Hope all is well with you!
I take it this just the official announcement for publicity purposes, final contact terms are still to be negotiated and agreed by both parties. just as Centamin are doing at present.
Thanks Siko. - Hope you are well. - Good luck

Barrick Gold signed their contract with Egypt.
You can understand how "Sawface" became a billionaire, he is good at making things look far more attractive on the surface than they actually are!
No doubt some will see this as an attractive offer, however after Cowichan was good enough to post I made some inquires,
Although there is a glossy exterior the reality is It’s just an interesting development in their business strategy – inviting external investment, i..e not their money if it goes tits up!
From a well informed source --"It’s important to note that US$1.3bn of the US$1.4bn is already invested in Endeavour, Golden Star and Altus , it appears some people have read the news to mean La Mancha has US$1.4bn of capital to invest in new precious metals projects.!"
Its staggering the poverty there is in Egypt yet there is an upper class like Sawiris and other rich families that are always claiming to love Egypt yet do little e to help improve the lot of the poor whilst bleating that they themselves despite their billions are hard done by!
Quite so Mr Bond, it doesn't hurt when you are chucking share holders money down the lavatory for the directors of a company on the scale of Rio, especially when you get a bonus for not doing your job properly , an excellent bonus for doing what you should be doing anyway and an exceptional bonus if by luck things should go well!
Having said that after the mess that Pardey created at Sukari he should have got a pay cut, certainly no bonus shares and that lazy bugger Youssef should have been sent down the yellow brick road long ago!
I fail to see how former the qualifications of an Egyptian police captain are really that relevant in managing a gold mine!
Goldgnome I agree ,their have been many f### ups with shareholders funds.
IMO CEY did right offloading Acacia .
HAVE A GOOD DAY all.
Major European stocks registered losses in the premarket trading on Tuesday as companies continued reporting their financial results for the second quarter of 2021.
Following the closing bell on Wall Street, tech giants Alphabet and Microsoft are set to publish their corporate earnings. Meanwhile, Bitcoin had a turbulent day by making a leap past $40,000, only to return to around $37.000 shortly after.
The DAX lost 0.18% at 7:21 am CET, while the FTSE 100 fell 0.15%.
The euro stood flat against the dollar to sell for 1.18019, while the pound gained 0.06% to $1.38268 at 7:22 am CET.
Breaking the News / ND
Rio has made some mammoth st%ff ups. The Mongolian disaster is enough to sink most companies, I doubt whether it will return its capital?

Not a strong portfolio, best to offer to the public!
A look at [sixteen] equity returns of mine developers in the 2 year period to commercial production and 1 year post production. 13 of 16 developers gained on average 77% to production and 11 of 16 held those gains for an average of 93%.
Buying the right developers works. $ORE; $MOZ; $RIO; $LGD, $OSK and $ITR

Buffet bought Barrick in second quarter 2020, when Covid was new in USA and it’s future unknown, and gold soaring, he then sold Barrick again when a vaccine was shown to work last autumn since when Barrick has fallen about 30%. Smart as ever, especially when gold has been on a downward trajectory that looks set to accelerate (TD amongst others issued another sell note today as gold has failed to perk up even as real interest rates fall). People like me are th muggins who resolutely hang on, not Buffet, one reason he is rather richer imho
It;s also more importantly "Luck!"
Sorry meant "Luck" !
Buffett had always been inclined to ridicule people who invested in gold. Once I learned he had bought Barrick shares, I should have taken it as a contrarian indicator. To some extent, I did. At least I have bought my shares at much reduced prices from the top. I'm still down on all, though. Centamin's are quite good in comparison.
I think Buffett also messed Tesco up to some extent. I haven't owned those for many years - sold in September 2014, 229p.
Hi Cowichan,
I would rather trust my lick with a rattle snake in a lucky dip than join anything run by "Sawface!"

La Mancha Holdings, owned by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, has unveiled a $1.4 billion fund to hold the magnate’s gold mining investments and pursue new opportunities in the sector.
It noted that the first closing had already been completed with the receipt of all of La Mancha’s gold mining assets, which include a 19.1% stake in Endeavour Mining (TSX, LON: EDV), 33.4% in Golden Star (NYSE, TSX: GSS), and a 35.1% interest in Altus Strategies (AIM: ALS) (TSX-V: ALTS).
“Creating a fund is the natural consequence of what we have been doing since we vended-in our operational assets into Evolution and Endeavour in 2015,” Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of La Mancha’s board, said in the statement.
“Transitioning to a fund structure and welcoming new investors is timely when we are seeing opportunities in a gold mining sector which is fragmented and needs further consolidation,” he said.
La Mancha Capital Advisory LLP (LMCA) will advise the new fund, after consulting an advisory committee made up of mining professionals and chaired by Sawiris.

My Thoughts: "welcoming new investors" is the key takeaway for me
Yep- it's timing- Buffett gets it's wrong too- he stacked up on gold at the peak in 2020 which was well publicised at the time.
Great article! Thank you Mr.Tibbles.
Forgine me for assunning your genda ilham , "He who dares wins!" if he buys at the right time that is, some of us believe this is such a time!
According to Warren Buffett, this is the time to be greedy when others are fearful about stock market.
As others are scared, they would sell their shares without even considering what is the right price of a stock!
