As far as I know the total well Raya- 1 is the only well to be drilled in offshore uraquay
Thanks Ltid -
The total drill was In the same area, but block 1 is closer inland in shallow waters. Am I correct in saying no one has drilled Blocks 1 or Block 3 before, or any other blocks owned by the other majors surrounding Blocks 1 to 3?
The Raya-1 exploratory well drilled by Total off the coast of Uruguay failed to prove the existence of hydrocarbons. Located within exploration block No. 14 in the Pelotas basin, Raya-1 was drilled to a record-low depth of 3,400m.
Can someone answer this question? I have looked for the answer and cannot find it.
Question: When Total Energies conducted exploratory drills off the coast of Uruguay, were any of them in Blocks 1 or 3? Am I correct in saying some of the drills were in Block 3?
I do not know the answer to this question and would be interested if anyone could shed any essential information.
Much appreciated in advance. GG

I agree with you on all counts there! The vast majority of investors will get burned at one point or another, key is to stick to your strategy and move on. That said, of course you have to understand and appreciate why some would be cynical.
Personally, I did as I said I would back in BPC (averaged down and increased my position). I’m excited about the future but trying to temper that somewhat and not get too emotional about the potential upside.
In fairness, maybe I’ve been a bit too liberal with the word ‘ramping’ in my previous comment, perhaps ‘emotional’ would have been more appropriate. I do agree with Willec that the CEO seems to have done a great job with the Chevron deal. If anything, I’m just trying to stay balanced and not be too swayed by the sentiment either way.
Druid:
Unfortunately I’m a bit confused by your comment. ‘DYOR’ is a fairly common statement across the boards I’ve come across, so I’m not really sure what you’re getting at, or what you mean by ‘wolf sheep’ - or even who it was aimed at?
Looking forward to the next batch of news, will be very keen to see the results of the Argentina drill!
SadKen,
Welcome back... there he is!!
DYOR, AIMHO, GLA
love the Willec line too, wolf sheep much?
SF !!
SadKen - this board has, historically, been overwhelmed with negative comment, largely from disgruntled shareholders or former shareholders. These are generally people who seemed intelligent enough to read the ' shares can go down as well as up ’ warning but for some reason ( never disclosed ) didn’t think it would apply to them buying shares in a high risk Oil Exploration and Production Company !
As the SP tanked for so long the disgruntled formed a bubble of Moaning Minnies who just trolled the board wanting to cast doubt on the actions of the CEO - recently this has been to cast serious doubt the CEO would get a farm in. Willec to his credit has argued that the CEO should be given time and was clearly right so to do.
I see no problem with posters positively supporting their investment - surely it’s what’s expected by anyone venturing on to these boards - that doesn’t mean they have licence to lie but positive spin is acceptable-he doesn’t need to list all the negatives- he’s not claiming to be an independent advisor.
I often highlight negative comment on here as I do question the motivation of such posters - if they’re trolling to get the SP down I understand it but trolling just because they’ve been jilted seems rather a waste of time!
Just showing work is already getting underway and helping us in Uruguay in Chervon. This will dramatic change the company and basically 'be in it to win it'.
Looking for 2p +
Morning
I wont get involved in the ramping / troll debate .. boring and who really cares ?

Things starting in the area is very positive for us.
Forget the Bahamas - Uruguay is completely different and the Bahamas is long gone.
We have Chervon in Uruguay. My question to the idiots here is why did Chervon go into partnership with us?
If CEG was so badly run and such a no hope as you all make it out to be we would not now have a major on board who will fund an extremely large amount of the finance required in the short and medium term which is perfect for CEG.
Honestly let’s just call this what it is: a punt.
There may be some promising signs, but that doesn’t make it investment of the century.
I can at least understand why the likes of JB would be cynical and cautious, especially after Bahamas.
What I can’t understand is why Willec ramps the life out of it like his life literally depends on it. I’d imagine that sort of obvious bad faith ramping is putting off more investors than it encourages.
I have a fairly modest investment, hoping it goes sky high. That said, I wouldn’t bet the farm.
As always, DYOR, invest what you can afford to lose, and don’t get too excited either way.
Eytan has done a great job since he became CEO. Look how far we have come since he took over.
Basically, Madmaxium totally invaliding your point.
It’s a pointless ambition to try to get rid of another investors viewpoint willec, thankfully your view is equal to anyone else’s and not more important or less.
Stop trying to dominate the board it won’t work and makes people distrust your view, can’t see.. why you haven’t noticed this already you have been at this for years. Nothing wrong with the assets CEG has, it’s the way it’s run that has been the main grievance here.
When something is worth having you usually don’t have to constantly say it’s cheap to get people to buy it!
With all to come this year in Uruguay and drilling to begin this month in nearby Argentina and majors what to move ahead quickly CEG plc are in a fantastic position for 2024 - 2027 and beyond.
Perfect buying opportunity here and looking forward to what Chervon has to offer.
EXTREMELY STRONG BUY!!!!
