John, he is not a ridiculous man-child, he is plugged into the queue for the splodge of wonga and is a little excited. The windfalls never seem to quite quite makes it to the shareholders or real operations...whether TED, LGO, CERL, CERP, BPC, or CEG. The ball just keeps bouncing, and his exuberance is justified and tangible.

Thanks GG, my question was more if a major had many such FO's and JV's in hand that could be executed at their sole discretion, whether or not they could report them as "assets" or "acreage" or at all.

Obviously one little Uruguay block won't cut the mustard, but 100 or more such blocks, maintained by adding new and expiring old, could create a huge "float"...

Would such a float be "reportable" to the company's benefit?

If a major has a bunch of leases that they can elect to execute or not, at their sole discretion, do such leases add to their asset pool in any way? i.e. Can Chevron "add" significant acreage through several separate agreements and keep a "float" so to speak, that is recognized as acreage in their reporting.

One can relinquish executed leases at will, in line with the contractual verbiage, so a License is, in that sense, at least as fickle as a secure Farm-in?

I hate to be one of the resident cynics, but until this farmout closes, I for one, do not believe this leopard has changed it's spots. Also, the fact that Willec guarenteed the Farm-in by last Decemeber, for me, wholly discredits and devalues the entire effort. I guess that is now Dec '24?
