@highflyigman
It will breakout one day and maybe soon?
I think the next week could be interesting.
It's at, or near the point, where it often retraces.
Many times I'm out at 317p, or somewhere near. But my gut instinct is we may be about to move up a little more than 'normal'.
But, I've been wrong with many gut instincts!!
I'll monitor during Monday and Tuesday and see how it goes.
'The bigger the base, the further in space' I think the saying goes. We've hovered in this circa 300p range for ages and I too think BP is due to breakout towards 350 over the coming weeks. GLA, C.
This will break out.
I think people are just not thinking off the huge potential off long term benefits off shifting 60% of the business to wind solar hydrogen charging networks. It’s true BP is loss making in these areas for now scaling up these overtime and uptake by people switching over will turn to reliable profits. The value of these investments will probably only ever go up once you run out off wind farm space there’s no more competition location is key to all these new investments.Think these uk /euro oil majors are going to do really well and will no doubt as these investments become profitable can see them splitting the oil gas from renewables.
Robby, if the SP rises 20p, I still have my free shares. I would of course regret selling the rest, probably like many others, in the hope it does fall back. I have been buying and selling from over £5 and from less than £2. I am happy with BP recovery so far. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regret_(decision_theory)
What if it rises circa 20p, instead of falling back again?
Many are expecting very good results for Q3. See what the sp is early November.
Thanks Robbyw.
Interesting the buyback on Friday was c40% of recent run rate.
Makes me think it will revert toward average [302?] between now and 1st Nov.
@Android101
Some of my thoughts too, but will it break 330p and hold?
Usually peaks around there and drops back down.
Maybe, just maybe we're about to break that mode?
But, then again.
Hopefully an up week ahead.
As I sat in the queue for fuel this morning, I found myself regretting selling out (all but my free shares).
With div in the bank and cash now ready for a crash, I wonder if the market will crash at all?
I have my fingers crossed for the brent December contract creating a dip so I can get back in again.
What are the chances to get back into this bargain stock and not give back my profit?

Regretting not buying glencore on the dip lol
Sold a third of my holding, hoping to buy back in 290-300p
Unfortunately Boris seems to have swallowed the green Greta agenda full on and is trying to be a world eco champion.
Just a good job he seems to goof everything up.

I did same with x6000 at 3.17 rate..if it comes back to 2.90 then I am happy to reinvest ..let's wait
I understand people taking profits from this roller coaster especially if investing large amounts with small margins.
The risk dynamic is obviously totally different if one got in sub £2 that investor can afford to wait it out and see what happens.
Hi Never mate
Probably summed up, in any right thinking experienced investor's mind, as ridiculous in risking so much in one company. I have not changed my view in BP. I believe in the company long term in that it 'should ' be a great investment with a loyalty payment ( dividend) in the meantime.
If BP dips adequately enough to reinvest I may be back in, if not then who knows.
On a positive note for all other BP investors, I usually read the market so wrong, so my selling may be the launch pad for the SP from here !! If it climbed from here, all holders deserve the all the rewards of holding and patience after dealing with this yoyo SP this year.
Great weekend all.

Jesus that's heavy
Well Mark,
Not sure if you've got big balls or mad.
Could you afford to use that much if it went belly up.
If so good on you. We're best mates now so pop round later...lol
Good Luck matey....

''. I sold out £800k in BP over the last week. A long story how I got to that point but now, one extreme to the other''--------------------------So you sold 260 000 BP shares. No wonder you were concerned. £2600 per penny movement wowsers.
Rightly or wrongly, I decided to hold.
Looking for circa 327p, but 324p would tempt.

Excellent post
Makes sense mark wasn’t trying to convince you of buying any was just mentioning that I had taken a dip and wanted to know if you’ve ventured down that dark alley. I haven’t put much just tbh because like you I’ve seen it since 2009 and it’s movements remind me of rich or bust so only put in a minuscule amount that I can afford to lose. If it works out over 10 years tidy sum if it doesn’t then it’s less than a months salary.
Mojo Pig, Cong & all
Many thanks all. Cong, no need to apologise. I recognise what you are saying, you are right and it rings true. Probably boils down to my mistake of itoo much nvestment in one company. I sold out £800k in BP over the last week. A long story how I got to that point but now, one extreme to the other, I am fully in cash in my Sipp, Isa and Sticks and share account.
Fortunately, I have made a profit since Feb so lessons learned regarding diversification etc.
Mojo, thanks my friend for all your posts. I do agree with Cong though, Crypto is too much of a risk for me but I admire investors who take the gamble. I have monitored Btc for a few years and it scares the he'll out of me.
Pig, there is no perfect timing just luck. I have watched £10ks of profits 'bleed away' so many times since Feb. My finger was on the button a few times around 330, 320 to see it repeatedly drop back to sub 300, 290.
So, today, I locked in some profits. Going to continue to monitor and as much as I would be happy for all holders in BP in it continued climbing from here, if it happens to drop somewhere around low 300s, as the Terminator said .........
Cheers and the best of luck.

mojo,
no, i just wanted to dip my toe into the crypto world. Couldn't get my head around any of it to be fair.
So, decided to buy £1000 in a Crypto exchange in Coinbase.
Was down a bit, but now about break even having bought at float in April.
Mrs Pig say's i'm wasting my time......but you never know

Revolut ticks a lot of boxes imo and ok for a quick crypto trade too if you upgrade for £6.99 / month
