In view of our Kallak woes, we have heard little now on our southern Sweden interests. I can't immediately find an RNS re shelving our project pursuits there, but I wonder if Kurt has renewed this licence, which expired this May gone:

BTW, I still have faith this will cross the line and finally got my small top up well below 6p today
Re "What amazes me, though, is that even when politicians speak of the Kallak outrage, Mr Budge is nowhere to be seen. No interviews, no comment, no nothing. How come he is not seizing the moment.."
He's busy lining up the next earth shattering deal. Just in case , of course
Sorry Ibjj....Wednesday is the day for the conference...of course

Re Ibjj
No one knows what will come Friday, but my guess is the same as yours. Baylan will do his speach and leave, without part taking in any debate. What one could wish for, though, is that Dagens Industri reports from the event. They have kept a tough line against the government's concession handling for the past week. There is also a Northern member of parliament, Linda Ylivaino, on the constitutional board of Swedish parliament (konstitutionsutskottet) and who has voiced her discontent with the decision making process. Come spring, she has stated, the legislative review of the decision making process kicks off. Seems she is going to build media pressure from now and up to that point.
What amazes me, though, is that even when politicians speak of the Kallak outrage, Mr Budge is nowhere to be seen. No interviews, no comment, no nothing. How come he is not seizing the moment...

is less than 48 hours away and this message board is dead ??
Says it all.
When Baylan says nowt on Wednesday and is back in his limo before the morning coffee break, it really won’t matter what Budge has to say in his slot. It is game set and match to the rigorous Morris of self serving Swedish bullsh*t politics.
Last one out please turn off the lights.
Apologies, BEM.
The Swedish government SHOULD NOT be issuing exploration licenses if they have NO intention of allowing a qualifying find to be extracted. My opinion for what it worth, if the government and its seems more and more likely, do not grant the mining concession, I see KB’s legal team exposing what appears to be a SCAM orchestrated by certain members of government. If they are successful, what then of the financial loss experienced by long term investors who do not play the market, will compensation be forth coming or do they have to take out a ‘class action law suit’ against BEO who I turn sue the Swedish government ?
I see Sirius mirrored large. Licence one thing. Paying to dig it out, transport, and flog it to customers is an entirely different matter.
Politically stymied is my opinion. Unless our leader gets LKAB involved, we will never get any sort of return on investment.
I have always loved ABBA, will never listen to a note again.
As for our Greta? bolleaux to Sweden. Ciao.
Hi Sooz. Well, the answers are all there, within the submitted content of each company's application form. Lol.
It's simple. Has each submission satisfied the official criteria for a concession award? Yay or nay? The administrative side of this should take a few months only. Objections to any concession award or otherwise, to be dealt with in the same manner. Is the objection groundless or not? Always sticking only to whether the criteria for the award has been satisfied by the applicant.
Bypass all politics and focus on the task. That of processing these application forms within a specified timescale. To either issue or deny the licence. It is possible.
Only the Swedes can save Sweden. The politics must cease. There will be tears and even I would say sustained chest-beating from the perceived hard done to, but the decisions will be sound. It should only be a case of what about these flamin' application forms! We are in the equivalent situation currently of wading through butter mountains.
Enough is enough.
Sooz, it's easy. Just be prepared to bloody well upset someone if necessary, confident that you have made the correct decision, based on all evidence presented within the application form.
Howl.
I'd be amazed if he did. You never know though, but if not, that's why I want Kurt to take further steps before the year is out.
1) I would bet my house not
2) I would bet your house not ;) - with a side bet of a grand not.
Just sold. ;-)
Whenever we get a little snippet of encouragement in the news, I'm now thinking it is the prelude to more delay, because that's been the formula so far. Can't go on forever though, the Riksdag will also be looking for answers to what's happening to Sweden's mining policy....remember that, how many more mines needed by 2030. ;-(
Not many takers lbjj.
For myself I think this saga has someway to run yet
You never know but this government could make some vague announcement if the current situation regarding mining policy gets elevated by the MSM, but don't hold your breath.
Who seriously believes he will announce a decision on Kallak
1. Next week
2. At any time during the current parliament
The objection to and indefinite obstruction of new business that would be beneficial to Sweden and its inhabitants is completely mental. Moreover, official application forms not being dealt with in a timely fashion, precisely and only because of political back-scratching, should be investigated by the Sweeney.
I'd wouldn't stop just there - how about loss of earnings and the fact we have undertaken free exploration on their behalf
You know, I, like so many, purchased shares years and years ago on the basis that the license issued by the Swedish government was free from ANY and ALL encumbrance, after all, before such licenses are issued the government have an obligation to ensure this is the case. Equally, BEO have a moral if not legal obligation to do the same, so where does that leave investors? Well I’m no lawyer, but I would say if the right to mine is not issued within a reasonable time frame, and recent years more than qualify, then there may be grounds to recover whatever financial loss has occurred on the original sum invested PROVIDED that is, such investment has not been the subject of speculation over the period. Any thoughts from LONG term investors?
In law the Greens cannot oppose the licences but they can have a word in the SDP's ear and say "delay the decisions" which is basically what has happened.
As I mentioned, its all "I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine". i.e. party politics. Party politics that's ruining the prosperity of a country and preventing people from getting jobs and of course from our view, costing the shareholders.
FYI Amanda Palmstierna is an MP for the environmental party
Thanks for the info Paul - equally it should be pointed out that on Avanza there is also discussion about the Greens also mentioning that they are against mines , which is opinion not law (I don't deny that there seems to be a log jam and an election may help :
From Avanza via Di Article
Amanda Palmstierna is careful to point out that the Environmental Party should not interfere in the law test, even if the party has a will on the matter.
“The Ministry of Industry probably sees the attitude of the Environment Party, but the government should try the question according to the law. It's two completely different bags, ”says Amanda Palmstierna.
End quote
Paul, obviously that's if we hear nothing at all from Baylo and/or the Government re our application from now 'til Christmas.
“Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.”

Thanks for sharing Paul. The Greens surely cannot automatically oppose any form of industrial progress that will not impact directly on the environment. In fact, they should be in favour of sustainable, green operations. We have submitted our application according to Governmental rules and, subject to scrutiny not least from well-established, top law firms, it appears that we have definitely satisfied the criteria for attaining a concession. Therefore, we should now be focusing on the law, the Government not upholding its end in the application process. At this stage, in my opinion, if the Swedes won't do it, Kurt needs to bypass all politics, and, before the year is out, formally demand a date from the Government for a decision on our application. If one will not be supplied, he needs the official reason for that, which can then be examined by our legal team.
We can't wait to see what the make-up of each successive Government will be, just to find out if we are lucky enough to have a collective body that will bring our case for Kal to its fruition. That is wholly ridiculous and completely unacceptable.
In my opinion.
Cheers Paul.
