When will you wake up?
The end of time is forthcoming but it’s not any time soon is it?
Baylan is a fraud.
https://www.di.se/nyheter/baylan-lovar-ny-utredning-men-branschen-inte-nojd-luddigt/
Pretty much what I expected him to say. The status of the decision concerning our application is "forthcoming" which must mean the proposed investigation into the process is for the benefit of other applications. ;-)
..
Sorry about "his his".
I suppose it's cos I'm a bit vexed. Lol.
I'm doing ok thanks Lb. Well, I really don't feel Kurt should have accepted Baylan's response to his letter, and with the lack of any meeting offered by Baylan in spite of Kurt's request for one, the response by Baylan should have at least included something other than a "forthcomimg" decision. on Kallak. Even a loose date would have put Baylan in the window for not continuing to dodge his his responsibility in our particular case. Shareholders do need a timescale for conclusion of this matter, and we know that with priority supposedly given to our application last April, seven months since without a decision in no way reflects what Kurt was told. So yes, I'd be quite happy if Kurt publicly outs the acute lack of regard shown by the Government to private investors trying to make good in Sweden.
I feel Kurt has been far too accommodating to date, and Baylan and Damberg have held BEM in disregard because of it. They've not had to really face the music.
I want a date for our concession decision, which is not, nor never has been, too much to ask. As I have said of late, Kurt surely must bypass all politics now and build on his recent RNS re our application legally meriting the concession award.
Sweden, in our sector, is a bad joke, at the expense of many.
They all are Suzy and its just as my friend stated, we are not be singled out because we are a UK company.
Tomorrow's press will be an interesting / depressing / harrowing / enlightening / joyous (delete where applicable) read!
Mikael Staffas CEO of Boliden and Jan Mostromm, CEO of LKAB....are as ****ed off as we are.
Yes, I am in fine fettle thanks Eric. Hope you are too?
Today, both Baylan and Budge will have been together in the same room for the same reason. To promote Sweden as a progressive, green country in which miners can do business.
I would expect an update RNS in the morning summarising Baylan’s statement, Budge’s presentation and the implications of both on Budge’s immediate plans to progress Kallak in whatever way necessary.
Budge, Farm, the Swedish Advis9ry Board need to stand shoulder to shoulder and earn their corn in saying enough is enough publicly and demanding action, a timetable and concrete reasons why prioritising the application has meant nothing.
Hi Lb. By "On we go" I mean the shareholders continuing to stick with it for an outcome. If we can , or if we still have the will. It does not refer to progress made, for example, work on the ground, by the Company. Obviously it can't do. Lol.
Hope you are keeping well.
This is Budge's moment in the media window. Let see if he performs because his future career in the mining industry will be settled today. This is when high caibre executives show what they are made of. This is his moment.
“ On we go “
What?????
This hasn’t gone anywhere other than downhill backwards for years, Eric.
Baylan will be on his feet this morning spout8ng who knows what tosh.
Unless he announces the granting of the license, Kurt should challenge him from the floor of the conference before he is whisked away to the safety of his office.
I am sick of Budge repeating the same old material, taking his over generous salary +++++ and achieving nowt.
He needs to stand up in this public arena and make the minister accountable to his office.
FFS - Suzy2
- During my five years as CEO, the Kallak project has consisted of dead time. The authorities are constantly demanding that we revise our plans with regard to Jokkmokk's cultural heritage, reindeer husbandry and indigenous peoples' interests. And we have done that, because it is important to have a constructive dialogue with the locals. But no matter how much we supplement our planning documentation, new problem areas always emerge, says Kurt Budge, CEO of Beowulf and continues:
- At companies, we work with facts. In this case, it should be pretty simple. If we do our job, comply with all legal requirements and also receive support from Jokkmokk's municipality and business, we should be approved processing license.
That is not to say that the government has not paid attention to the problem. In an interview with fPlus, Business Minister Ibrahim Baylan (S) points out precisely the mining industry as a special case when it comes to regulatory hassle.
- In the mining and minerals industry, companies testify to an increasingly unpredictable process. It is not primarily about environmental requirements and such, but rather it is the predictability of the process when the company wants to take action or start work. We are looking at that area more closely today, he said.
Was denied meeting with Baylan
This is insufficient, says Beowulf's CEO Kurt Budge, who was recently denied a meeting with Baylan to discuss the Kallak process. For him, many questions remain unanswered.
- I want to know what we need to do in order to move forward. At this point, you may think that at least we should have been given more transparency and a clearer schedule, he says.
While the mining industry is stomping on water, Sweden has lost its reputation on an international level. Between 2016 and 2018, Sweden fell from place 8 to 21 in the Canadian think tank Fraser Institute's annual ranking of mining nations.
- Sweden is becoming an increasingly attractive country for mining investments. It is not only serious for the industry but for the whole of Sweden as metals and minerals are the start of long growing value chains in the country, says Svemin's CEO Maria Sunér Fleming.
The situation does not get any better from the fact that officials and politicians who are members of the government-bearing parties are crossing the line, she says.
- There is a growing culture of government to look at environmental policy issues. It is also unfortunate that Amanda Palmstierna, MP's mineral policy spokesperson, was recently criticizing Beowulf's application, she says.
It has long been a recognized issue that the metals used for our mobile batteries, refrigerators and computers are mostly extracted in underdeveloped countries where people work in extremely difficult working conditions. If Sweden wants to play a role in escalating this development, politicians must begin to open the doors to the mining industry, says Maria Sunér Fleming.
- We are facing a hu
Now the mining crisis is deepening - the pressure is increasing on the government
The mining industry warns that slow licensing processes will weaken Swedish competitiveness. It paves the way for the miners to put new pressure on Business Minister Ibrahim Baylan (S) during tomorrow's annual industry meeting. "It's time for action," says industry representative Maria Sunér Fleming.
The need to extract materials that can be used in green technology has led to dramatic mineral and metal hunting in Sweden over the past three years. At present, companies and players have been granted permission to survey more than 600 sites. Last year, a total of SEK 782 million was invested in exploration. Only once before has so much money been invested - it was before the last mining boom, reports SVT.
But many plans run the risk of being crushed due to the slow state processes. In fact, not a single so-called "green-field" mine (speculative exploration with the hope of finding a potential mineral) has been able to open in Sweden for the past 12 years, says Maria Sunér Fleming, CEO of Svemin, the industry organization for mines, minerals- and metal manufacturers.
- In practice, it is almost impossible for a mining company to move forward nowadays. First, it must be licensed for processing concession, which only gives companies the right to exploit minerals. Then an environmental permit is required, she says.
Everything gets even trickier when several players are involved. Unless the county administrative board, the Bergstaten, the landowner and the land and environmental court can agree on the permit issues, the mining company is at risk of falling into a total deadlock.
The project has consisted of dead time
The British mining company Beowulf has become a type example. Six years ago, the company applied for a processing license to mine iron ore in Kallak outside Jokkmokk. But after disagreement between the county administrative board and the Berg State, the decision has now been left to the government. There it has been since summer 2017.
......some better decisions.
Thanks for the reply TFE. Yes, I agree with most of your points. Kurt has yet to deliver a successful outcome here though, on any project, so I'm not sure he would be snapped up elsewhere until he has achieved his first winner. Proven delivery, and if we look at it, he's been here for five years or so. People can draw their own conclusions. The wage he receives from us is significant, and for such a wage I feel he could and should have made better decisions. Over Kallak and Vardar. The latter, being that it is a private company and operating in a former volatile war zone, I'm not at all happy about. He has exposed shareholders to further risk by not investing in a listed company. The lack of transparency we can do without, in my view. We can't keep independent tabs on Vardar, no RNS from them, only snippets from Kurt. Notably, the sp has never reacted positively yet to the good news from Kosovo. It says much.
Yes, I think I'm depressed with it all. Our website not being up-to-date is pretty poor. As for Göran, he's been a waste of time. Unless of course he's done loads of great things that Kurt just hasn't told us about.
On we go.
Good luck to us.
Re Fplus.se
And KB finally speaks his mind, woohoo :D
Looking forward to the next steps.

So....you are paying great attention! Lol
You can still count? aka the nitey night person from Cornwall.
Aper of 12 posts.....re seizing the moment? Maybe you're just not paying attention.
Good info ..... many thanks of course... lets hope its a full house at the conference and the heat is turned up fully...... squirm time ..... bet kurt cant wait

How come he (budge) is not seizing the moment...? The simple answer is, he does not care!
He (and his legal team?) are taking their salary, thank you very much!
Yes, it's all rather depressing Eric. The inevitable decline of the SP, raising and throwing away monies, effectively sponsoring private companies, website overlooked etc etc.
This reminds me of the last throws of CSP before he departed, perhaps Budge is about to disappear himself.
If he's as good as investors on here say he is why would he stay?
Surely, as it is right now, this moribund company has no more challenges for Budge, his depleted enthusiasm is plain to see imo.
Maybe another challenge awaits him, who knows, nothing is forever.
Not even a government decision, is it?
Sorry, my mistake. Our Ågåsjiegge interest is in northeast Sweden.
Point being, focus is now seemingly only on Finland and Kosovo, Kallak aside.
I think the website could be updated though, to better reflect the current situation and if we have bothered to renew licences and so on.
