Hi Ed. I didn't know about the 11am thing. Seems weird, but at least you found out what it was. That would have done my nut in. Lol. It seemed like you got a great deal anway, which is good to know. I realise that we only pay one fee instead of two, as in, not one for selling, then another for buying back, but I wonder if you had to phone them to keep the commission down, or did you just do it online via the Bed & ISA facility? I'm only asking because I also use Interactive Investor, the same broker as you. Formerly TD. I didn't want to casually roll up online, do it that way and get fleeced. Lol. If I have to phone up to save a few hundred quid I will. Cheers Ed.
Hi Eric The first two big sells were mine and Mrs44's ISA B&Bs. The whole ISA thing is very confusing. At present both of our accounts show us in the red to the tune of 20,000. No need to panic though. It's because the shares are sold and bought within a few minutes. We will be in the red until the sell orders clear. The barmiest bit is that I tried to do the B&B as soon as the market opened on ISA day. I'd forgotten that it's not possible to bung anything into the new ISA allowance until 1100 hours on new ISA day.. Go figure that one out. Ref the tiny spread. The good brokers always do the B&B deals for the minimum possible commission. It wouldn't be worth doing if they charged the full commission, It would re better to just sell the shares and pay the taxes. Brokers can be nice sometimes. atb
Im wondering whats left in BEMs pot and how long they can sustain this seemingly endless situation!?
Two trades on 6th, two on 9th.
Cheers Ed. Hope you got the ISAs sorted. I still haven't done mine, but I noticed four large trades I think yesterday, two chunks within about half a minute of each other, and two earlier. I'm not sure if they were Bed & ISAs, but if so, the buy back prices were really close to the sell prices. Good for whoever it was. Gives me hope that I may not lose too much on the swap over if I did a small one. Best wishes.
I thought you knew that the MM's were operating a rigged book? The buy:sell ratio today was 1:1, as it has has been everyday. Where you got 6.5 - 70 from I don't know.
You can inspect all the the trades, the London Stock Exchange lists them all. Not sure how volumes help anybody with their BEM investment. This share has had an extreme spectrum of valuations, the only intelligent thing you could have done is bought at the lowest valuation period. Again, volumes would have not helped with that. The fact that there is a poster on here who genuinely cannot understand how for each trade there must be somebody on either side, is as baffling as those cannot understand opportunity cost and how money has already been lost if you have been locked in here for many years.
Hi Eric I agree with you, time to give it a rest with all of the supposition that's been flying around as non of us know what's happening. All that I can say is that this time around there is an air of calmness, unlike the prior happenings with the violent rises and crashes that we all suffered.. Where Mick got the 7% drop from I don't know. Over the last few days the spread has been closed in quite a bit from that silly nigh on 20% spread that we had last week. It's currently @ 7.69% The buy sell ratio is 6.5 - 70 and the trades today tie in with that. The last trades were @ 6.51 - 7.0 All looks fairly stable to me. atb
Give it a rest.
What's the scoop? 6.510 -0.490 -7.00%
Some talk over there of a Government meeting on 19 April...he says ramping away........ not the time to be wavering methinks......
Ah yes you're probably right. I'll shut up!
Same trade - bed & Isa?
A couple of pretty hefty sells there, somebody has lost their bottle! For every sell there is a buy apparently ;-) I can't see them!
Morning. tintin35 .. thank you, we will have to see. TheFarEnd .. with every respect, I personally hope that she is not briefed. If that women is allowed anywhere near this application, I suspect, we would be swallowed for a song (deep and special). Kallak would possibly be the only place on the planet, where reindeer would have diamond encrusted antlers. Please god no! atb
Tintin, if mining and mining can't get on together or talk then we're in trouble!!!
Maybe Kurt will pop in to see her. Lol.
I'm not sure what will happen actually Tintin. It's all a bit quiet.
"The Government believes it is important to continue working on creating the conditions for dialogue and cooperation for coexistence between mining and mining. Better knowledge of each other's terms facilitates coexistence and I want to emphasize that both these industries are important for Sweden." "Society needs access to natural resources in the form of metals and minerals to cope with the technology needed for a green change while rennringen is a prerequisite for a living Sami culture in Sweden." Stockholm, March 16, 2018 Mikael Damberg Anyone think he's gonna say "No"?
I see TM is visiting Sweden tomorrow to discuss among other things trade. Let's hope she's been briefed about BEM's ongoing woes, you never know we might get a mention.
I knew the monkeys would come in useful. Lol.
Hi Eric, The monkeys are a good by-product. Three of them got into the living room a couple of years back and scared the bejesus out of the wife! Made my day! Hi Ed, I would recommend Gibraltar as a day visit, as you can see most of the important bits in a few hours. However, it does lie on the doorstep of some amazing Andalusian treasures, which are well worth a week or two visiting. Being in my mid-thirties I have a few years to go til retirement (notwithstanding a decent price on BEM!!!). I would like to move further afield, somewhere else in Europe at some time. I am fortunate that by virtue of an Irish mother, I am to a certain-extent Brexit-proof! ATB
Quite.
things must be looking up now we've got the de-rampers in.....
Might be coming up next month at the same rate as last year 6.5p... Working capital must be getting tight now surely?
