Evening. What I do think John is that Kurt Budge is talking and listening to everyone involved. Its in each, and everyones interest to do so, regardless of surface sheen. Interestingly, when Kurt Budge first arrived, he did, at every opportunity (RNSs, presentations etc) place much importance to stress that, his stewardship was a new beginning in BEMs approach to the Sami, and his desire to form good relations with such. He also spoke of CSPs failings in this area. At that time, I felt that some of those comments were unjustified. CSP didnt perhaps have Budges communication skills but, he wasnt disrespectful to the Sami either, as I remember. I make mention of this because, now with the benefit of hindsight, Budge at the very beginning must have had some good measure of what then lay ahead in respect of the Sami (inflexible, determination) plus (CAB?). That would perhaps suggest that Budge talks and listens to the people who have a good feel, and knows what exactly, it will take. We can only guess at, who he talks to, and what kind of relationship actually exists. In my opinion only. atb
Good comments.Could he have been tipped off that it is in BEM's best long term interest? Nudge, nudge!
Afternoon. Yes, I agree too, I feel good about the RNS. It was calming! An interesting choice of words used by Budge, especially in the first two paragraphs. Telling! I read it, in the context of Budges previous comments/submissions since December last. This perhaps now, a clever, defensive shot, if you will. Since December, he has been most critical of some within the process, and has spoken of how their failings has been of great cost to BEM in terms of money and TIME! Rightly so! However, he now accepts that, we are at where we are at, and does both recognise, and welcomes, that the Government is being thorough in its review. I do think that, the message to the world is, even if, we have expressed disappointment over the workings of the process, BEM will not be putting any pressure whatsoever on anyone, to deliver a decision sooner, and that we trust, proper process only, will deliver the right decision, regardless of time taken. In respect of his recent mentioned comments, re time, I do think that he may have considered these latest comments to have some value because, any doors at all left ajar, then team Sami would try to kick them wide open. That said, nothing in the RNS suggests that, a decision couldnt arrive in the very short term. In my opinion only. atb
Afternoon. Thank you for the information. atb
Thanks for the link Granite. Best wishes.
Good post Tak.
Actually, forget that last link. I could view the entire page and all of its info on Google prior, but when I posted the link supplied, it looks like you then may have to sign up to view it again in full. Weird. Sneaky. Lol. Anyway, elections are usually every four years, on the second Sunday in September. Right, bedtime!
From another source. Bit of interest perhaps: https://www.thelocal.se/20180305/how-to-vote-in-the-2018-swedish-election
Cheers Graham. The Swedish general election is scheduled for Sunday 9th September. https://pollofpolls.eu/SE
Great post Eric. I can totally understand the reasoning behind the RNS since we’ve probably had the resquest sent to us from the government. Does anyone have any idea when the elections are in Sweden? Since as Eric pointed out I’d hope any final decision to be made before that date. Otherwise new faces will have to review the process only adding to any possible delays. On the plus side the facts are now in the hands of those that can give the ultimate final work on approval/rejection. All we can do now is wait and see what answer is announced. I’ve owned shares in Beo for about 18months, but for those of 4/5/6+ years another hopefully short wait to the outcome everyone’s must be worth it!
This is the final lap. It was always going to go to the government for the final decision. You need patience with this one. It’s a good RNS. You’ll make money. Patient investors tend to do so when fundamentals look good. And they do here. Chill.
what a load of bollucks this is us ,investors give loads of dosh for a update that is no different to what 2//3 years ago . is this some sort of silly game would never invest in this country again as everyone has been let down and its a complete joke being invested in this one another dog share !
Hi Mick. I appreciate that, I do. I am more looking at the fact that now they have actually got down to examining "all" submissions, which is something the Government itself hasn't had to do before in our case, the time it takes to reach the final conclusion and bring us the decision cannot be rushed. Precisely due to its paramount importance. The appropriate care and therefore time must be taken, and is being taken, as this final decision will obviously affect people's lives. The Government has to also avoid at all costs, leaving itself wide open to any legitimate claims of bias etc, such claims that would be bolstered by a quick decision. We know it's the final stage, and that all observations and comments are in. We also know that the Government is actually going through those submissions at the moment. That's something we should be pleased about. That our application isn't lying unviewed on a desk, the submissions lying unopened. It's also only been a few weeks since all submissions were in. If the Government has lastly given everyone a month or a little longer for submission of comments, surely it must give itself two? I do feel it would also be highly appropriate for the Government to give its decision before the elections, so there may well be an unwritten internal timeline. Only my view that though. Mick, I do understand your frustrations, and I don't know if I've explained myself too well, but it's the importance of this decision that merits however long it takes to come, at this last stage. It has just been such a long time actually getting our application to this stage, which has worn most of us out and made this final chapter an absolute chore. But now we are here and the elections are not too far away. Unfortunately it has been somewhat of a political ride, but one which must conclude. I'm not sure what else I can say, only that we must try and stay positive. As you know, my plan was to leave last October, but with what I'd potentially be giving up, I couldn't bloody bear it. Best wishes.
Eric, we don't know "the time being taken right now". This could gp on for many months and we are no clearer knowing a timeline that the government is working towards, i.e. is it before or after the summer recsess?
Good post.I think we can take all this frigging around as a positive because if it was a definite NO, we would have had it by now imho.
We can feel good about the potential outcome though Mick, based on the rules, as the Government reviews all of the submissions. That's what we can feel good about. Certainly not about the time taken overall, fair enough, but the time being taken right now by the Government at this final stage, is surely not unreasonable. Best wishes.
Hi Sooz. Ooh, get in out of the cold and have a brew. Yes, rightly or wrongly, I'm feeling good about it too. I'm thinking of the rules and how absolutely necessary it is to give a decision in accordance with them. :-)
Hehe, thanks for the update :)
AdF - 24 May Suzy2 (13/4) carries the baton until midday 19th when it passes to brombonce (25/4). Yep i have nowt else to do
... and all they did was to make everybody upset, since they were broken: 2015-03-31 (March 31., 2015), "before the summer") - Ett be**** om gruvdriften i Kallak kommer att komma innan sommaren. Det sger nringsministern Mikael Dambergs pressekreterare i dag till Nordnytt. http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/norrbotten/gruvbesked-innan-sommaren and 2015-08-31 (August 31., 2015), "this autumn" - I hst rknar regeringen med att kunna presentera ett besked angende Kallakgruvan. Det uppger nringslivsministern Mikael Damberg (S) till SVT Norrbotten i dag. http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/norrbotten/kallakgruvan-be****-i-host When did they touch it? They sent it back to the MI in October of 2016! So, a timeline from the government is worthless anyway, the decision will come when it comes. I'm hoping for mid- to late May (forgot the exact date I guessed on this board).
Yes, I suppose it would.
feeling good about no definitive timeline for a decision seems odd to me
Morning Eric. I've been rained off this morning and I'm chilled to the bone. But I'm feeling good about this, how about you.
Thanks Sooz.
