Good things to remember about investing in Sweden..just in case we've forgotten, over the course of time.
From Avanza...thanks SlowBigTurner: http://www.mestmotor.se/recharge/artiklar/nyheter/20171203/biltillverkarna-gar-samman-for-att-ta-ansvar-i-gruvorna-bort-med-barnarbetet/
Correct.
Nobody has suggested otherwise. What we are being asked to do is refrain from contacting the government in the expectation of getting a reply on a matter that is between themselves and the parties directly concerned, which is not us the shareholders. The issues are sensitive and confidential and not for every Tom, Dick or Harry to meddle with...we have no part to play in the process...it's not our business.
Yes Dornod, and the request that we don't interfere is also apt, in my view.
Well said. He's specifically asking us not to interfere at this crucial and sensitive time for the Company. The Government won't take kindly to it at this final stage, information will not be divulged anyway and the process of review will have been interrupted unnecessarily. It will only irk everyone involved, drawing the wait out further. The sensible approach for shareholders is to let Kurt and his team only act on our behalf. We must adhere to his specific request, for the Company's benefit. For our benefit. He wouldn't have raised this point if it wasn't important. Good update, also a necessary one, for that reason alone. In my view. Cheers Sooz.
Kurt will be giving his presentation on Tuesday afternoon in Helsinki. There is going to be strange atmosphere at that presentation if there is still no positive decision. Will Kurt be able to able to deliver without thinking that he's participating in a Monty Python sketch. The audience may recognise that this CEO has a special sense of humour. May be the decision will be released before then.
I always love the usual Government Departments approach ,used around the world, to supress public comment during their consultation process. Always get the company side to state "The Company will continue to keep the market informed regarding developments in the application process. The Company requests that shareholders do not contact the Government directly, as responding to enquiries is time consuming for those reviewing the Kallak project, taking them away from dealing with the matter in hand." Of course the opposition 'anti's' (and not to be sexist we can include uncles too) are not restrained by this requirement. Thus the thousands of 'statements of support' are never registered and the few dozen 'against' statements can have all the prominence. Simply put, the Government department need to employ and assign sufficient staff to cover the Consultation!! Democracy is not silencing the majority and giving a louder voice to the minority it is undergoing a fair process where ALL voices can be heard !!!
to be honest, there's a part of me that's glad we're p*****g off these civil servants. If it means they get the job done quicker cos they're sick of us and want to get rid of it the better - their previous delays have been disgraceful and completely unjustifiable. Maybe we should have done this two years ago.....
Any Other Business....? I'll stick with Friday ;-)
For all you cynics, this is called keeping us informed. Thank you Kurt.
The news is that the government is getting on with it and that's good news so far as I'm concerned. And the Boss clearly feels it's necessary to ask shareholders not to interfere with the process...an appropriate communication and it deals with us saying 24 days of silence. Good message, on the ball as usual.
an update with no news
Exactly.
guess it stops people from banging on about a lack of an update.
So even Kurt and the SAB can't nail the government down to a timeline, so an update to shareholders telling us they have no idea when a decision will come is pointless in my view.
Morning All. As and when then.
It would have been a NO a long time ago if that was the result of this. Keep the faith.
yeah interesting that he has repeated that, something has got his goat again.
"The Company requests that shareholders do not contact the Government directly, as responding to enquiries is time consuming for those reviewing the Kallak project, taking them away from dealing with the matter in hand."
understands that the Government's review of submissions made by interested parties, with regard to the Company's application for an Exploitation Concession for Kallak North, continues. As the Government has yet to complete its review of all documents received, it cannot give a definitive timing for a final decision. "It is clear that the Government is being thorough in its review, and taking the time it needs to complete a rigorous and objective assessment of the facts. "Though shareholders may be frustrated with no definitive timeline for a decision, Kallak is an important project for Jokkmokk and the County of Norrbotten and should be treated with the care and attention it deserves, and an observance of due process. "The Government has the opportunity to look at the 'big picture', the interdependencies of capital projects in the region, mining, rail, port, and power, and the potential for Kallak to play its part in a sustainable economic future for Jokkmokk and Norrbotten. "Kallak has support from local and regional politicians, and business focused agencies, who recognise that the Company has invested SEK77 million, and that it is committed to developing an innovative, modern, and sustainable mining project, that showcases the best of what Sweden can deliver. "While the Company waits on Kallak, the Company's exploration teams have been busy with drilling the Aitolampi graphite project in Finland, and a geophysics survey at tvidaberg in southern Sweden. "The Board will be in Finland next week, attending the Nordic Mining Investment Conference, where I will make a presentation titled 'Mining a future in the Nordics - Staying the distance'. Also, we will hold a workshop with our exploration team, to review our graphite portfolio and our plans for the Aitolampi project, as well as tvidaberg. "I look forward to updating shareholders in due course on our progress at Aitolampi and tvidaberg."
Well you've got an RNS to concur with that Mr mwilliams41.
Patience.............
Thanks Geo, that is really helpful info. Much appreciated. Yes I'm with Interactive. I just can't afford to get fleeced and although I know Ed had no trouble doing his online, the spread was half a p less at the time. Lol. Good to hear that it does seem the broker understands the situation, otherwise it would be a pointless exercise to open any ISA, if you are going to be skint on the transfer. Best wishes.
It took them five hours, but that doesn't matter. I rang them first to enquire and place the order and to make sure the spread would be tiny and they confirmed that the cost of the trade would not exceed 50. It appears to be around 30. The chap i dealt with was called Adam, been there 9 years and knew the epic code. If you are with Interactive then you can do it too.
