..the fleck did all the comments go?
Unfortunately I've seen too many Telecos fold because of debt. The bond holders swallow everything and Avanti are now in the end game.
Long Trek - Pretty confident that will happen. Huge advantage is being first movers in a rapidly expanding market as AVN have stated.

The finale will be when Dame Fat Lady sings. Her performance is imminent lalalalala
Thanks Cassius, just watched it and looks very interesting, Hopefully they'll raise enough funds to pay the bills and stay afloat. Avn has so much to offer its customers, the infrastructure being in place over many countries in Africa, with its gateway earth stations, and it has complete coverage over that continent, and some parts of latin America, also being a first mover in that area of KA band etc gives Avn a good start over any potential rivals. Hopefully once funds are raised and the company is kept alive, then it'll give customers over the EMEA regions more confidence in Avn and thus the big multi-million pound contracts will come rolling in.
Dont think that this has been posted http://spacenews.com/with-hylas-4-in-orbit-avanti-hopes-to-take-lead-in-african-hts/
Well, at leat we’re going to find out one way or the other quickly!
Yep must be at close today in advance of the general meeting tomorrow!
cheers. wonder when the finale is!!
Did hear Brewster had a million invested in this,,,,
Good price to get in at... but will we ever get out! Am tempted to top up but its a case of red or black.
You can only be in aim if you have a sense of humour & an iron constitution
HaHa Ha that's funny!
I suppose anybody with a sizable holding might take it up on the basis it will help the company get through these difficult times & therefore secure a profit for themselves in the future, on the shares they have already invested in. Just an opinion!! Anyway we will soon know the answer to that as the OO expires midday tomorrow with HL & others i guess!!
Looks like we are all relying on Solus taking up the full issue. I would have thought, if this was the likely scenario, that the share price would be pushing back up to the 11p mark. Of course Caledonia could still be selling and suppressing the price. Who knows ? Still all up in the air.
Nope I took the equivalent allocation in the "half price sale" that's been running these past two weeks.
* Not really....;-)
Thanks WO . . . re 1 st post has this board AI imbedded ? Yes, I know daft question, if it were most of whats written here wouldn't make it ! (:- )
. . . had been having difficulties with AVN earlier this afternoon - ' We have no information on AVN' or words to that effect! I then checked past trading history and found that today instead of AVN trading at +5p it was trading at +5 . . . eg 230,000 sold for +1.3 m ! ! wasted valuable time double checking - there was no change! However before I could reach my broker it was back to +5p . TRUE, well except for trying to reach my broker {;- ) . . . . a positive omen . . . hopefully? [for the literati] 'Sum hear wood post ewe late 5 sewn, butt that's 'eke welly stew pud two him age inn ' !
. . . check LSE trade history, it seems it was quite profitable if using LSE, 250,000 'just' fetched 1,4 m mind it got dashed expensive to buy . . .possibly a an LSE hiccup !! They seem to having trouble today
Hi HITS - Yes, I agree with you that the extra $50m is not covered by the D4E, and is in addition. My only point was to remind people that the extra $50m was not just being raised from the current shareholders (who currently have 100%, but will only have 7.5% post D4E), but from the entire post D4E shareholders, and that current shareholders' 'share' is only ~$4m. In reality, I suspect that the bondholders might have already agreed subject to not being forced to bid for the entire company. Romaron's point below that the wording around insolvency is actually for the TO Panel to agree to this makes some sense I think.
MTB, my read on that Apr 9th RNS is different to yours. My read is that the bond-holders are going to get a shedload of newly issued shares in exchange for their $557m of 2023 debt - and we'd all agree that's what's been very obviously said, I'm sure. The extra $50m requirement doesn't seem to be covered off in any way by the D4E swap referred to above and would seem therefore to be a completely separate and additional need? Where does it state that the bond-holders are actually going to have to or actually have agreed to chip in extra funding over and above their existing combined $557m as part of the D4E swap? It may well be that I'm missing something (won't be the first time), but I don't see any clear statement to that effect?
...and possibly the TO Panel carries a big stick?
