RK, are you suggesting the market in the workplace won’t be there given the tests expected pricing (already discussed by AS in an early interview)? I think £10 on wholesale volume absolute minimum and £25 for consumers. My view is the workplace usage will depends on the workplace risk, screening population size, frequency, etc. Yes I don’t think large manufacturing organisations are going to start spending £10m a year on testing when the controls in place sufficiently reduce the risk but high risk workplaces will have no choice. The testing/screening strategy of each type of customer is an interesting point that hasn’t been discussed in much depth on here.
I'm presuming the board understand CoGs. AS has already stated that is in the region of £2. Add in distribution etc I am not sure they will be able to drop the price to where your Board expect it to be. What will they do at that point?
On the Boards I have been involved with we open with discussion around compliance and risk. I think we would take the view that no testing is not an option. I've previously suggested twice per week - let's say £40. That is well below a days sick pay, keeps the business open and mitigates any potential H&S claim.
I would hope Director bonus, fancy cars and dividends would come after ensuring employees are tested and safe.
I’m not for gouging the market but companies stating they can’t afford testing for staff need to be squeaky clean.
And I shouldn't post after drinking half a bottle of Penderyn. Sorry about that but had some good news over at EUA today.
Also, right now I reckon you could stick 30 quid on a ticket for the ballet in Covent garden or a west end theatre or concert at the Albert hall and most wouldn't even notice, the tickets ade already so expensive, if you can get hold of one.
Understand what you're saying but it's people who say 'I can't work this week because
1 I think I've got it
2 I think my work mates got it
3 I think the missus/kids/dogs got it
I get that it may be expensive but where I work there are people properly milking it and the company would save a fortune telling them to come in and we'll give you a quick test
RorkesDrift, I am dealing in businesses at Board level and they will no spend that kind of money. In production plant that is more than an hours pay extra per employee per day. Testing once a week is pointless. It is too late.
The perfect number for volume sales is around £2.5 in a work place. In hospitals, hotels, airports etc then you can charge more. In the end initially the price will be higher but as time goes on an production capacity increases then the price has to fall.
It is plain economics.
Cheers Rich
Yes, I can! It is imminent :-)
As I said in my follow up last night, It will come when the next development is ready and only Alastair Smith and Avacta Investor Relations know if it is ready to be released!
Considering today we had no news it was a positive day. So the MM's opened us at the low level and the share price rose to a number some would expect and then it fell back to another expected number. I am sure those following SP patterns would be well aware of that. But for anyone trading in such a tight window with a MM's widespread would have to be very good with timing and trust it didn't go NT.
The big question is what will we see next and when the RNS does appear how big will the spike be 15 to 25% and this time will the market warm up to the news and then will we see strong volume and fast SP recovery. Lots of if's and buts. But we know these are some huge news items coming which will be highly significant and influence the market. I don't think the rise will be influenced so much by Private Retail Investors this time as we are more likely to see larger investors coming in based on the right news. Although for the right RNS they may well be a lot of watchers who will pipe in on the right news. The potential for a very large rise on the right news will be just the ticket for many as anyone who is looking at potential returns and profits based on success will know well the potential profits and the significance for Avacta.
Lets see what is next. Whatever happens, I will be quiet again as business calls!
Have good evening all!
Cheers, Rich

Just gone through your history your clearly de-ramping hrre
Thermo took over Quiagen in March, are you sure it is not their PCR kits?
RK - can you predict the next RNS please?
Seadogsteve,
Very interesting if you look back at my post Saturday from buy_buy_bye Twitter feed in which he concluded there being connections between avacta and thermofisher. Will provide link.

Rich, I posted earlier today about Thermo Fisher, who have taken over a huge factory/warehouse in the town where I live. Vegas picked up on it and directed me to their web site. If you look under 'careers' they claim they are about to start producing millions of Covid tests. There's also an interesting video from their TCO.
I think it needs a more experienced person to have a quick look as it may be very interesting.
Steve
Based on what AS said previously I think minimum price will be £15 possibly subsidised by government. Most workplaces could test everyone at least once a week i would have thought?
Thanks Seadogsteve, I am just fine. Just got in after a day of business meetings.
Not sold or bought any today. No RNS then but it will come when they are ready.
Amazing business is really stepping up again! The concern is people are not taking enough precautions! Same response though with respect would you test your employees? Yes but how much - £10 - no way! £2 - yes it is cheaper than PPE! But, then most factories are not wearing masks or gloves! Even in packaging companies! So expect more lockdowns soon.
I see that most here are posting morning, noon and night so mainly retired souls.
Interesting day.
Cheers Rich
Has anyone seen Rich today?
I hope everything is ok
