at some of the grief poor old Hants has got this morning.
I bet most of it has come from those who tried and failed to be cute.
Most of us have been there. Tried to bag a few more shares and ended up with a few less.
Be happy everyone.
If you're new and bought at over 200 you'll be smiling very soon!
If you're more long term you'll be smiling already!
If you missed a trade join the club and be happy for Hants.
There's always next time to risk your gains.
So true. I bottled and bought back losing a few quid. Having just seen the price I could now have bought back in at I realise trading is not for me!
Spot on Sir.........
Traded these twice now, (check out my ascending triangle trade a while back) ...sold at 204p this morning for a 42% profit. Might buy back if it goes down a lot further but I`m not one of the AVCT fan club, just a trader of these.
My sweethearts are elsewhere!
Fair enough Bottomzup. Just to be nosey do you also trade "your sweethearts"
Trading is somewhat a self fulfilling prophecy, because everybody is looking for the same patterns and price movements. It's actually surprisingly reliable, that is until something comes from the left field and changes the fundamentals. That is where the biggest risk comes from.
What do you want, a medal?
Of course, if sell signals are obvious, but keep a core holding if I like them enough.
This one can go back down faster than it rises so will be watching closely for re-entry...but a 42% profit has to be banked for now because it hit the previous resistance zone just above the £2 level.
Speaking of a laugh, I'm suprised that we haven't heard from Global today....
Global is too busy, furiously trading this today. I’m sure he’ll update us at the end of play. I bet he’s made a fortune. Sold at 209, back in at 191 etc etc
Bottom....give yourself a big pat on the back..zzzzz
EricHorseman, don't you mean bought at 209 and sold at 191?
Global will have sold at 195 and bought at 207, he's a genuine genius
That’s probably exactly what he’s done, although he’d never admit it, bless him. Actually, I do miss his constant, it’s going up, it’s going down, I’m in, I’m out statements. They’re good for a laugh, if nothing else :-)
I have a tried and tested investment strategy that I have perfected over many years of trading, I am half way through writing my book which I am sure will be an International bestseller...the title.. 'Buy High- Sell Low'
I bought 20k extra at 145 a while back and sold half for a 20 per cent gain. Not so smug now its risen another 15 percent on top. Still the rest wont get touched for a long time.
My trades work every time, well at least with play fantasy money.
Soon a the real thing at stake I sell to early abs buy back too late.
Lth for me, I like the sleep, but admire those who can, so long as they don’t just pump abs dump, using “FACTS” :-)
If you made money this morning, well done.
Agree Bottom sold and took profits and will buy back in once the inevitable drop happens, if not then will put it into SYME
Trading legends, the pair of you!
Heeeeeeeeeeere’s Global :-) What price did you sell at?!? Don’t tell me, 230p, somehow?
Don't listen to some on here, shares go up and down especially today jumped up without an rns. Sure AVCT will go up but best to sell high and buy lower.
@Bottomz - very good. Did you get in at 142 at the dip on 29th Sept?, or much earlier?
hahaha priceless this. what a contradictory statement. 'Sure AVCT will go up but best to sell high and buy lower.' Enlighten us Global, when you buying back in? Fool...... do love the comedy though, thank you honey.
Hypermarlin, I built the position before, and while, the ascending triangle was developing, then sold half @185p when the breakout happened, then held the other half until today when I sold at 204p because it hit previous resistance, with a cumulative 42% profit.
No decision on direction now as it either needs to break support and drop below 188p, or rise strongly past 215p previous resistance.
If 188p breaks in the next couple of days then I`ll be watching how 182p holds up.
If a big RNS happens then I`ll be looking for a good entry, timing is everything, and after a good RNS rise there`s always a pullback on profit taking if you`re not on board at the start.
Plenty of ways to play it if you`re able to be in front of the screen all day, with your account(s) open.
ps, why do those who don`t understand charting or trading signals and technical patterns resort to sarcastic insults and childish remarks? Is it because they are insecure about the fact that they know that they don`t know how it works, and its their only way of comforting themselves?
I`ve noticed very similar responses to charting and TA posts for many years...must be a pattern there!
BZ, absolutely spot on with your analyis of both the chart and peoples behaviour on here!
There's plenty of information out there on charts. Some of the individuals who attacked me earlier need should redirect their time more consutructively onto educating themselves a bit more. Even for those who don't want to trade a share, at some point you're going to be buying and selling... this knowledge can help to get a better entry and exit. It is useful to EVERYONE. PI's who neglect or don't believe in charts are both ignorant and foolish.
I suppose it was nice to get my own thread, through...
