Anyone able to shed any light on these rns’s?
Rns Stating offer being recommended by board and will be 40p give or take 5p either way. I believe the assets will go to two separate bidders.
I think a lot of people are seriously underestimating the true worth of CPO5 and also wrongly anticipating a quick resolution to the bidding process. Unless there is a knock out bid, I cant see the Board accepting anything until at least one of the Indico appraisals has been completed (and that will take us into November). Why would they when the results of the appraisals could significantly increase our reserves.
I am prepared to wait as long as it takes and am hoping for 45p
Could the board defend a hostile bid? They only have approx 5% equity and we know Michinoko is not controlled by GC.
Based on the Bod track record of failed delivery and fat salaries i think many here would accept 25p rather than risk carrying on another year with little activity.
Hi Bays, last week I suggested something similar. OXY take the remaining 50 percent of the initial 4 blocks from us and we use the funds plus change to take another 20 percent of cpo5 and become operator. We would still have OBA and plat with 50 percent of put8 plus the other blocks. The OBA would still develop significant income for Amer and our production would take a quick hike up.
Surely any bid below 28p or even 30p will be rejected by the BOD. And therefore won't be a winning bid.
Private equity - 25p
This process forces ONGC to the table, one possibility joint partner take out of ONGC 70% share and Amer as operator??
Guess ONGC have bigger fish more strategic fit. getting say $250m and dropping capex straight jacket appealing with their forecast plans we can only guess at.
GTE could borrow and get 25% , Geopark same - Private equity 20% and vote Amer operator. ONGC get bought out under value. Amer would have pre - emption rights on a ONGC take out. Hence the turkey shoot, no contractual road blocks.
One other one to put on the table. HNY The elephant in the room, the monkey on your back, the fly in your eye, is ONGC, Feck em off and get down to business. They don't want to be here. Get business back on the table. HNY
ONGC for CP05
OXY for the rest
37p
Go on! I purposefully didn't due to abuse I got from my valuation.
GTE
Reasons best strategic fit
26p (love more)
...no hate please
could add to this and name a price.
A bit of fun. Lots of views on the final offer.
So you have one guess who will buy us and why?
For me GTE - best strategic fit for them

Got to be the most opportune time to submit an offer.
niles - i had to do a fair bit of research, but according to The Royal Horticultural Society spuds "should be ready to lift in June and July, second earlies in July and August, maincrops from late August through to October. With earlies, wait until the flowers open or the buds drop; the tubers are ready to harvest when they are the size of hens' eggs."
what was it, 20 drills this year?
anyone, from one-non-fund manager to an ex-fund manager, surely an offer is coming.
Anyone got an educated guess on the next spud news? Surprised not to have heard anything yet.
Which is what Bigsmoke? I am as baffled as the next ex-fund manager. This team has delivered SFA for shareholders, but now have a chance at redemption. Unclear whether GC et al can snatch victory from the jaws etc
but.... fast forward seven years: "ONGC, Centre face flak for Imperial Energy acquisition" https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/companies/ongc-centre-face-flak-for-imperial-energy-acquisition/article7536137.ece
nice one. thanks stockable.
bigsmoke, my fault. However, I think the article can be found by using the heading "ONGC to acquire Imperial Energy" and making a search. That should take you to it.
shareholders know what is coming.
Share activity has all but dried up today - I think the Rubik's cube of possible permutations has exhausted us all.
stockable - article is behind a paywall.
